  1. https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/afl-2019-malcolm-blight-says-jack-watts-could-be-the-worst-no-1-pick-ever/news-story/d1ae4648989a81660a8cdd5b4bf14bd3 Wow blighty didn't hold back. But he does make a few good points when talking about players that have gone 31 before him or after him. What confuses me about this though before he snorts the stuff he appears to be looking at the camera and says are you ready. Or is he just saying it to those around him. Surely he could notice someone has there phone recording it. Then today he says he didn't know he was being filmed.
  2. I just wonder what his mum said to him.
  3. See everyone just assumes if you are an mcc member then you have it all. I work at at job where I only get $22 an hour, I don't live in a fancy suburb, drive a range rover, have a beach house or ski. So don't put us all into the doctor, lawyer toorak living area bracket I have been an MCC member for over 20 years. I didn't go on the list when I was a kid because im a melbourne supporter. I went on because of family and now I use it over summer for the cricket, including boxing day the big bash and international 20/20s. I wouldn't ditch it ever because I use it and get value out of it. I don't apologise for having an mcc membership. Me contributing $87 each year is better than those who don't re-sign or don't join up but still go. I also go to every melbourne game there and yes I usually to the grand finals. But I pay for an MFC/MCC membership every year. A couple of years ago it was $60 and you got a scarf and all the sticker and that. You also got free entry into an etihad home game. Now it has gone up to $87. I have signed up again because it adds to the membership total and it makes a donation to the club. I agree during the finals when the members was packed I saw many supporters with scarves on from 2015 and beyond. You can tell the ones who have jumped back on. Hopefully with the success last year more and more will sign up.
  4. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/more-news/natalie-portman-recounts-shock-melbourne-afl-training-session-appearance-and-subsequent-sledges-from-nondees-fans/news-story/8cd088d6a77008b72b553932fe9bed65 Seriously, to get some publicity on The Ellen show is huge.
  5. I don't mind the fixture. Finally we get a home game against essenscum and we only have to play them once. But yeah its a shame that either ANZAC game or Queens birthday isnt a home game. But think next year they will both be our home games so extra revenue then. RE the Big Freeze. Ed said on the radio yesterday they will still do it and make it all about Neale and MND. WE don't play at Adelaide Oval or spotless so that's good. Only 2 games at Marvel and I hope in the last few rounds we are sitting beautifully on the ladder and coming home we get massive crowds. Don't mind playing in Hobart.
  6. I cannot believe we are being sent down to geelong again. Last time we played them we got over 90,000. Yes I know its a final but I thought surely this year we won't need to go there again next year. Also make it a saturday arvo not night.
  7. We better not be sent to geelong. I would like to think that after our great season and crowds figures can justify not sending us down there
  8. I agree ditch the darwin game. Dam i was hoping to finally play west coast at the g. Oh and on mmm this morning they said the Queens birthday game will be the pies home game.
  9. Im happy with this, Saturday afternoon at the G. Id rather play at home than away. We will get a good crowd because we are coming off a great season with some standout finals wins, there will be expectations and I want to see how our new recruits go.
  10. Not sure if this has been pointed out but with Jesse gone what does Robbo do with his marking comp at 1/4 time now? He had howies hangers then Hogans heroes now what. It seems to be a curse. Hames paints have been a good sponsor and this gave them some promotion.
  11. Broke the news to my 6 year old niece last night that Jesse has left melbourne after she wanted to name her toy puppy teddy after him. She actually burst into tears and said no I don't want Jesse to leave. I want him to play for melbourne. She cheered up a little bit after we told her jonsey and max were still there.
  12. Look he just needs to tone down the aggression in the sense we don't want him getting suspended all the time. But he will be a great addition to our backline. He is a mature player who can hold his own down back. He was on that trade talk show on ch9 last night and said what stood out was goodwin talking to him about what Melbourne and the coaching group can do for his game personally and for him. Said that's what he was most impressed with. Anyway I look forward to see him do his stuff next year.
  13. Could he play as a crumbing forward or swap from midfield to forward? I think he will be pretty good for us.
  14. Can we blame Mark Neeld for this. He got us Jesse, got us all excited about the nest big superstar forward. Look at least next year we won't have to put up with will he or won't he re-sign. He would have gone home, so at least we got the deal done now. Also after Melbourne games no longer will we have to read about his bad body language and him sooking on this site. But I wish Jesse all the best. He has been through more at the age of 23 then most of us have in a lifetime. He has lost his Dad and had a cancer scare and had injuries on the way. But good look under Ross Lyon. He has gone from being under a calm coach to Ross who seems to be demanding, gets angry and expects a lot from his players.
  15. I can see why he wanted to go. More opportunities is what he wanted. All the best to him and I hope he can stay injury free. Will always remember his wonderful goal against west coast to seal the win.
  16. Im happy with this. It gives Max more of a break and this guy is massive so he can go forward to. It means hopefully weiderman and Tom know longer have to do ruckwork and can stay down forward.
  17. Well I just hope that this doesn't backfire on us and we end up losing Jesse and don't land May. By the way we have Oscar, Hibbard, Frost and will get Lever back so where will May fit? I can see why they would want an answer from Hogan because next year it will all be about him and will he won't he re-sign with melbourne but I really don't want him to go because I just fear if something happens to Tom then we have to rely on weiderman. Yes he had a good back half but could he step up and take the lead. In saying that I did think at some stage Jesse would go home. I think now we could cope with his loss where as a few years ago it would have felt like the world may have ended.
  18. Look yesterday we needed the Lewis who played really well against geelong and hawthorn, but yesterday we got the undisciplined Jordan. The one who gave away a dumb free kick in the 1st quarter resulting in a goal, gave away 50's butchered the ball, yes I know he wasn't the only one but he is meant to know better. I suspect he may go on for another year though, or maybe he thinks he has had enough.
  19. I loved seeing the former players there. Jeff White posted a opicture with his son at the game, the wizz was there, im sure many others were there to. Goody was just on SEN. He is flying to perth because he said he has done so over the years just to see different finals matches. I wonder if he is thinking I better go and have a look in case we win next week.
  20. I agree on that part, he did some stupid handpasses to teammates under pressure but his tackling was brutal and outstanding last night
  21. Goodwin is about to be interviewed on SEN'S crunch time show. Should be in about the next 5 or 10 minutes I reckon
  22. That Hannan goal I had to watch it off the big screen because everyone around me stood up willing him to kick it. It was just great last night. Just watching the highlights now.
  23. Love this image, the 2 captains walking off together. The only downside I had last night was I taped the storm final got home to watch it and it failed to record and I also taped our game and it jumps because of reception. But thats ok. I have the memories from last night.
  24. Good morning! How great does it feel this morning? Bloody brilliant
