I get your point. I guess every year we have lost someone to FA. at the time and I stress at the time and not now it was disappointing to lose moloney and rivers. Not so much Sylvia. Actually someone said on the weekend Sylvia wouldn't even get a game at melbourne now. Which is probably true.
-
I haven't seen 1 second of the game so will look forward to highlights on the news tonight. But I listened to it on the radio and from the bits I heard was Watts had a great 3rd quarter and that free kick on 3/4 time wasnt there according to the radio Jones played on and took the advantage after a holding the ball decision and they questioned why we took the advantage and not choose to go back and take time off the clock. After schultz kicked that goal I turned it off. Did we miss any easy goals today? Also what obvious errors did the umps make today?
-
every year we lose someone because of free agency and I mean a key person. Can clubs start picking on other teams. Although if someone does want to give frawley a 7 year deal then good luck to you,

St Kilda champion Lenny Hayes announces retirement

chris judd holding a presser before training tomorrow. Wonder if he will pull up stumps? -
chris dawes threw up an interesting name yesterday. Scott Burns. He has been under worsfold all those years and now under bucks. So at least he has had some experience.
-
the stupid thing was they said about him coaching melbourne next year. Sorry melbourne have a coach for next year. Roosy.
-
is it time to bring Michie back in the 1sts?
-
They mentioned it on the radio. I didnt hang around to watch the boys walk off but on mmm they said Mackie went up to Jack to have words with him then Selwood did. I mean god help it if Viney actually stood up for himself and had a go at precious boy selwood. They then made a joke of how some of the geelong backline were having a chat with Frawley.
-
a few years back that would have been a 150 point loss. Halfway through the 2nd quarter if someone said you would only lose by 66 Id gladly have taken that. Viney was brilliant and even got under the skin of some cats players. cannot wait to watch him in years to come Riley was great and I hope he plays out the year Garland did a great defensive job on Bartel keeping him really quiet Dawes battled hard and its difficult when you have 2 on you Watts is always an easy target from fans when we lose. Yes it wasnt his best but he had friends that were also in the same category Frawley proved today no club will pay him 700-800 grand Also we just couldnt stick our tackles where as geelong did
-
He could. He is a person that takes training very seriously and just works so hard. They said before the dogs game he spent 10 grand on a ice machine so he can use it to fix himself at home so he can recover more quickly. Very thorough player.
-
Im rapt that we finally get to play them on our ground. Lets hope the rain stays away and we get a competitive game.

Mark Stevens @Stevo7AFL 50s One of footy's best feelgood stories will roll on. Daniel Cross, who looked done and dusted at the end of 2013, to play on in 2015. Mark Stevens @Stevo7AFL 1m Cross had a 15-game trigger to guarantee another year ... he's two short of that after a broken leg, but it won't matter. All sorted Even before he got injured I would have thought it would make sense to have him for another year. He has been great.

this was on ch9 news and I came across this on the website. Good to see Roosy have a sense of humour and as Maxy was missing I wonder if he suited up. bIg of light hearted entertainment. Not sure how he'd go in the ruck though. But he would be my niece's favourite player. She loves big bird. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2014-07-10/paul-roos-and-sesame-street

surely evans will be moved on. I thought he was going to turn into a really good midfielder.

That tackle on Ablett by Brent, that could be deemed a sling tackle. Trengove got 2 weeks for a tackle like that on Dangerfield when he hurt his shoulder. I dont think Macaffer should at all be suspended because it was a good tackle but im just saying whats the difference?
-
Yeah Lake does have carry over points. Well I think so anyway. The way I see it if someone is choking me I would do anything to get them off me. Of course you would defend yourself. Lake had brain fades at the dogs and thats what used to frustrate the hell out of Rocket. hawthorn wont let him get away with it. I reckon the hawks will go after Chip but it depends if they choose to pay over the top money for him. Coliingwood I dont think will be interested, they have there youngsters that are doing ok.

Among the skill errors, Roos lamented two set shots missed by Chris Dawes and co-captain Jack Grimes in the second quarter that would have put the Dees ahead. "You have to take your chances, you can't miss goals from the top of the goal square," he said. "At one stage it should have been three-all. Dawes misses, Grimes misses and it's three-all and mentally you're still in the game. "You miss them and it's six (goals to) one at half-time." Melbourne only booted four goals but Roos thought the match was far from the Demons' worst performance for the year. "Oh, no, no, not by a long way. I think for us, we got a lesson from a really good team," he said. "They're a Grand Final team from last year and we're a 17th team from last year. "They're such a difficult team to beat. We constantly see them, they're just such a competitive team and they do the basic things well. "They're going to be there at the end of the year, right in the thick of it." Paul Roos sums it up for me right in that passage.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
dees189227 replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
and now we have to read about there stupid win last night. Port you let a lot of people down last night. -
9,290 is tonight's crowd in Darwin. not bad. YOu have to remember we are playing a top 4 team who were runners up last year. I mean we cant even beat the dogs or stkilda. Why would you think we would beat Freo? If we were 10-4 instead of the other way it would look more respectable. If in a year we are still doing this then we can worry more. Plus stupid port lost by 2 points to the bummers because they cant kick straight. what a crap night By the way we have dropped a spot on the ladder. Now under GWS.

bloody hell. Down at half time and essendon lead port by 4 goals. What a crap night.
-
ok I will be more specific? What would the crowd number be?
-
whats the crowd look like?
-
wow what a gutsy win. They lost there best player and leader, they had no bench in the final quarter because of there other injuries but they stayed calm and managed to hold on. The best thing is they are 2 games clear of essendon who hopefully lose tonight and harder for the pies to make top 4. Clinton Young has joined the Herschelle Gibbs club as dropping a sitter. that mark he dropped will be with him forever. It was a barry crocker and im sure it will be a very unhappy flight back home.
-
well half way through the final quarter they lead by 8. Lets hope they hang on.
