WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
dees189227 replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
alright lets hope this pick works out. SEN said his mum is in tears. I hope thats because her son got drafted and not because melbourne got him. Looking forward to seeing what this kid can do. -
Yep got mine today as well. Love the youngsters in the calendar and great Daisy got a look in. Already got the card in the lanyard.
-
Poor kid. Another whole year of footy on the sidelines. Just hope and fingers crossed our boy gets through pre season without re injuring his knee again
-
Well I think it was great. at least we got some coverage on all news services. although poor Jesse im starting to feel sorry for him being asked about his contract. As he said I still have 2 years. But on another note can I just say how tough our captain is. He has a scar on his neck from surgery and cant get any contact for a few months. Obviously he played with a serious nerve injury and toughed his way through the season. Others would have stopped. Some would say he may have been a bit silly because neck injuries are something that shouldn't be messed with, but you know he loves this club and wants to be out there very single week.

Herald Sun's 'Daniher Best years for Demons'
dees189227 replied to dieter's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can someone enlighten me why Neale Daniher was given his marching orders and who was the pres and ceo at the time. I know he was with us for 9 seasons and every second year would be a bad one but when you look at what has happened after that and who has coached it's been a disaster. Dean Bailey Mark Neeld I didnt bother to include Riley, Viney and Craig as they were just interims. Paul Roos im not including. -
It would be kind of funny if Jesse just meant for the melbourne boys, but I took it as an open invitation. That would be pretty cool. I hope they get a lot of people down there. The kids would love it.

Id throw everything at Goldstein. Although to me he seems like a pretty loyal player and will stay with nth but geez he'd be a great ruckman to get.
-
Saturday arvo r1 in march is a great result. I think we will get a good crowd. Hopefully a cracking day weather wise. Well we should and I cant wait for it. Hope howe enjoys his first trip to ANZ stadium.
-
Wow lets hope it goes as well as r1 this year when we thrashed the suns. It will be great to see Hogan and Cameron up both ends. Stevie J's first proper game for them as well. Bring it on.
-
It would have been a very long trip home for him. I wonder if Finnis was waiting for him at the airport. I would have.

Like this tweet from him. Thank you @GWSGIANTS for the past 5 years & for the amazing opportunity. No apologies if I start a melee when we play you next year though -
It will be interesting to see next year with Watts coming out of contract, if they will be in a hurry to re-sign him. I mean during this trade period the club put him out there and no one was interested. I can't see them being in a hurry.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOEL SMITH
dees189227 replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wow I hope he can leap like his dad. I hope he takes this opportunity and doesn't waste it. I hope he does well. -
Smart move to cut his trip early to come home and face the music. Nick Riewoldt will tell him a few home truths and about the club. He'd be filthy. So he hasn't even set foot in the club and he's on notice already.
-
Is Jake only sorry because the footage got out? If it didn't he'd just carry on with life and who knows decide to do it again. As KB said its his 5th year. He would have sat through so many drug talks, why would he need to sit through another one. Surely he should have got the message by now. Just imagine the other players out there doing the same stuff that don't get caught. Id imagine the 1st day pf pre season, awkward day for him fronting up to his new teammates. He'd want to put in a good pre season.

A packet of chips, do we trade watts for a freddo frog then? -
Yep it seems thats the excuse these days and the people that really need the help are missing out.
-
Not bad getting drafted by the reigning premiers. Who knows maybe they can turn him into something they need. Good luck to him. and wish him all the best.

Over the time Howe was with us, not once did I hear him say he grew up barracking for the pies and buckley was his hero. I mean we all heard Judd and Buddy grew up as demons fans, ling was a geelong fan, heppell a dons fan, Tex a crows fan and so on. Listening to Garry Lyon yesterday he was scathing on Howe. He said his manager has handled this all wrong, shopped Howe around for a ridiculous asking price that backfired because no club wanted to pay it then he ended up at collingwood because they told him he'd play in the one position. Gaz said he doesnt know how to play forward and in these times of footy he will again find himself playing in different positions. Anyway he better not take mark of the year on us.

Wow I missed the story but am just reading about it on the net. So did he post it to a friend as has been reported and if so what a dumb arse. I mean in todays social media world of course it will get out Don't the AFL players PA and the players have an agreement there is to be no testing on illicit drugs on there time off? I may be wrong. If it turned out to be him and his mates have sold it what great friends he has. I bet the saints are on the phone right now asking some questions. This is where the confidential part in the drugs policy is wrong. I mean if this turns out to true and he gets a strike imagine if he was sitting on 2? I know this isnt illegal but also wasnt he seen smoking this season around the place and not really hiding it. I know its not a big deal but that would affect your fitness.

Well I think its a good get. He will slot into our midfield and just go in tough and hard. Its good to see players are excited. christian petracca @cpetracca7 3h 3 hours ago Great trade period for @melbournefc. Excited for 2016. A lot of hard work to prove a lot of people wrong and that doubt us. Let's do this. I think he is itching to get out there for us. Anyway its good to see todd and co doing some hard work. -
Have now unfollowed him on twitter. To late he sent out these 2 tweets, Jeremy Howe @howie0038 12m 12 minutes ago Now looking fwd it's a surreal feeling being able to put on the colours u barracked for all ur childhood life. Thanks @CollingwoodFC #gopies Jeremy Howe @howie0038 13m13 minutes ago Thanks to Mfc and the supporters for the last 5 years and the opportunity u gave me. I don't know how I feel. On one hand He and his manager were asking way to much and yes he didnt use his talent to his best of his ability, but seeing him in a pies jumper and on the news tonight they showed him talking on the pies website I just didnt like it. But anyway queens birthday will be interesting. Also he'd want to perform, cause bucks and the pies fans aren't that patient. Toumpas moving on just feels like we threw away another low draft pick and wastes it. Good luck to the Toump though, hope he does well at Port.
-
Yep sounds like the demons are playing hardball. Hope we stretch this pies thing out because they are to busy focusing on getting treloar so that will be there first priority. Hope they dont think we can knock out a quick trade. I wonder how much the pies are offering him, hope they arent stupid enough to pay him the 500k he thinks he's worth. Travis Cloke said on radio today he bumped into howe and watts over in Bali. Not that that means anything. But the pies did put out this tweet. VIDEO: We’ve confirmed our interest in Jeremy Howe. Oh well he will fit in down there with his tatts. Well sad to see him go but Jeremy let me tell you you will not be a jack gunston type of player. Just dont take mark of the year on us.
-
Garry Lyon had a crack at him as well. He says he cant understand why he wants to go and said is it worth it leaving just to get an extra 100k. Said he doesnt know how to play forward that well and is a defender who jumps on his opponents head and marks the ball.
-
So I just want a few questions answered. Does Jeremy want to play forward but rossy and co want to keep him back? I'll tell you right now he will never be a jack gunston clone. Doesnt push hard enough Are we pushing him out or does he want to go to a club that will probably play finals? Is it a money issue? anyway one one hand I will be sad to lose him but if he wants to go then so be it. I hope he ends up at the gold coast. Couldn't handle seeing him in a nth or pies jumper. On another side note no more howie's hangers next year before the game.
