Dunn in for O Mac straight swap and that improves our backline. Love to see Brayshaw back.
-
geez the swans are giving the pies a hiding. Cloke statless up to now. Swan got a serous ankle injury apparently.

some essenscum fans on social media have said parish for the rising star nom this week. Not before Oliver you dont. But yes we must dominate that game and have a huge lead going into the final term. That will show us how good we have become.
-
That game we dont need to get revenge for. At the time as we know now we were a rabble and non competitive. Look at the 22 that played that night. I want revenge on last years loss. I was so furious at that. I mean we got beaten by Daniher who of course had to kick straight that week. That annoyed me more.

Just got home from the game and still can't believe we came back, Wow 2-3 years ago if we were in that position we would have just capitulated and lost by 60. But so proud of that last quarter, Watts was great and just uses the ball so well. Rarely wastes it Hogan- Well beaten for the 1st 3/4s and thought he'd have his head down and sulk but he didnt and to his credit fought back so well and great to see his shots go through Kennedy great game for us Viney just knows only 1 way. Hard. Geez I thought we had it lost when Harmes buggered it up when he should have kicked it quicker and it got smothered and they scored a goal in that final term. Vince my god those 2 kicks out of the backline were 2 of the worst kicks ever. Please dont do it again. Tommy Mac- Still makes me nervous when he tries to take the play on but some brilliant spoils and marks were so important. Clayton Oliver- wow what a debut. Surely has to be the rising star nom this week. Just goes in and contests real hard. Nice to start the season off with a win. But will have to play better next week.

Anyone get the feeling the bummers could get over the top of Gold Coast tonight? I hope not but geez they could.
-
Well I cannot wait. I'm expecting a win and will just feel deflated if any other result occurs especially after our Nab form. Cannot wait to see our new guys particularly Oliver and see Maxy hopefully dominate the ruck and Jesse kick a bag and everyone get off his backs. Hope there is a good crowd as well.

Eleven Pies players test positive to illicit substances
dees189227 replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well according to the AFLPA the report is wrong. Seriously they can go on about giving lectures and more teaching but the players just do not listen. I guess it will be to late for a player who dabs in substances and may die as a result. -
Parts of trenners presser that mfc put on twitter. Maybe more on ch7 sport tonight. Trengove: It was great - it was pretty much just an extension of the training session but there was a match simulation component Trengove says he hopes to continue to build match fitness - with the rotations in AFL football now you need to be at a high level Trengove says he hopes to play restricted minutes next week and be ready for VFL round one Trengove says when the footy's around now, he doesn't think about his foot anymore. He's building confidence with every session. Trengove says it's good to see plenty of players putting their hands up for selection - match simulation is good for confidence. Trengove says we're not putting any limits on Christian Petracca - "he put his best foot forward today" Trengove says he's just focusing on getting used to the speed of the game again and getting used to body contact again Trengove: I'm certainly starting to believe more and more with every session - the dream is to get back out on the G again.

I have realised I have paid little attention to the rules in the off season. Firstly as noted by others, completely forgot about the sub rule going and this new deliberate out of bounds rule. That is just confusing.

If Casboult could kick he'd be a great forward player.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 1, 2016
dees189227 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah I know. I completely forgot. I hope he starts on the ground. -
Geez dont carlton look a different team. Look muck faster, playing on, tackling pressure has been great and if they had kicked straighter they would be leading by more. MM is in the SEN box doing special comments. Wonder what he is thinking. Its been a good game to watch. Thought it would be over by now.

Eleven Pies players test positive to illicit substances
dees189227 replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hate the pies but how did Mark Robinson find out it was collingwood. Those off season hair tests are meant to be confidential. The thing is there are 2 clubs in front of then which is even worse. An interstate club. My guess maybe Gold coast. This is why Presidents and CEO'S want to know when a player is caught out. Its ridiculous this isnt included as a strike. Love to hear what Paul Marsh has to say. He will still defend them. Im sure the clubs fear when the off season comes because players are just doing what they want. -
MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 1, 2016
dees189227 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Actually the most important selection isnt even in this game. It's Trengove playing tomorrow. All dees fans have our fingers crossed for you Jack. Good luck. We just want to see you back in the red and blue. -
MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 1, 2016
dees189227 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Completely forgot the sub rule went. Wow no Dunn. Ok so some say he may be injured but geez who will kick the ball out? It's a shame that the mfc site arent doing questions because I'd love to know why. He is a stable player down back. I hope Oscar proves me wrong and I hope he kicks better than his brother. But geez its a big call. I can understand giving Brayshaw another week and also Lumumba not playing because he needs to get his fitness back and do some more running. But great to see vandenberg back and also Salem. Frost is also a handy inclusion. Bernie Vince, Jack Viney, Aaron vandenBerg . Good centre line. Having a look at the gws team. No cameron or McCarthy or Patton. What happened to him. Isnt he over his knee? -
MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 1, 2016
dees189227 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wow so its come around again. The topic of selection. Rapt that Oliver is playing. I just hope we don't make him sub. Let the kid play instead of sitting on the bench for 3 quarters getting all nervous. I didnt get to see our games live , only seen snippets but geez I hope we bring the good from in. -
It feels like ages ago Scully left. Look at how our mid field has grown since then. I won't boo him because it looks like we still care that we left and face it we don't. I had no problem with him taking all that money, I just did not like the fact he told Jimmy all that bulldust about wanting to be a 1 club player and he wants to stay and he loves melbourne. Sam Stynes saw through the bulldust. Also you cannot tell me that he did not know his father took a job with GWS and he only found out a year later when he signed on with them.
-
Yeah not sure why he'd be on the footy show. I mean surely he would know he will get asked about his contract.
-
To those saying Roos overrated just let me point some things out. Christian is an employee of the MFC and is paid to play and represent this club He did his knee and had to sit our for 12 months and while still undertaking rehab decided to slam dunk a basketball which we all know when you land you come down heavily on the legs, feet and body. If he was shoting around some basic shots then it would not have been an issue. In doing this he broke his toe, setting him back another few weeks costing him a r1 debut game.

They told a story on mmm yesterday where they said that Goodwin arranged for Hogan to have a coffee with Wayne Carey just to get some pointers and any assistance on playing forward and when they hopped back in the car Hogan turned to Goodwin and said gee he knows a bit about playing centre half forward didnt he, in other words Hogan had no idea how good Carey was. Maybe he was a bit isolated in Perth and he wasnt born when Carey started. anyway I hope the journos stop asking about the contract because as he rightly pointed out he still has 2 seasons to go.

Christian Salem had a scan yesterday, finger heavily taped today. He favoured at training, not in main group. But Dees adamant he plays R1. Tweet from Stevo. I hope he is ok and behind his injuries. Need him out there.
