  1. If I may be a [censored] here, the date Tom Wills' letter was published is in no way the birth of the MFC. More accurate dates: 31 July 1858 - First scratch match featuring players connected to the Melbourne Cricket Club 25 September 1858 - First game played by a team called 'Melbourne' vs South Yarra 14 May 1859 - The day the actual Melbourne Football Club was formed. For mine this is the real date, everything before then was a loose collection of players under the name 'Melbourne'. Thank you for allowing me to ruin the occasion.
  2. He's fine with ball in hand, a complete liability when it's loose. Time for the old face-saving mystery injury.
  3. As if the AFL won't be playing razzle dazzle half-court rules within a few years. Visionary preparation.
  4. Might be a raging success like Kevin Bartlett, James Hird or Justin Leppitsch.
  5. You certainly won't be posting about it on Demonland, the server will go up in flames.
  6. Not sure if it means anything or is just a frivolous stat, but we've gone from 'conceding' the 14th most bounces by opposition players in a game last year to 3rd this season - rest of the top five Brisbane, Gold Coast, Freo and Carlton. If you can run quickly then football skills may be optional against us. Should have known something was up when Billy Hartung played like Robert Flower for the first half against North.
  7. Sounds like he ticked off the talking points from the media department at 100% efficiency.
  8. Finals since 2015 - 24, 20, 34, 35, 34 and 25 touches. Seems to find it alright.
  9. Would need about 230 inside 50s.
  10. The performances are not to be discounted, but they were playing a village team. Like when Gawn had 80 hitouts then it turned out Bendigo couldn't afford a ruckman.
  11. This is around what I've got as well - North losing to the Dogs would have been a major bonus for us. Thanks Mitch Wallis you campaigner. Edit - There is a North vs WCE game in Hobart in Round 19 that is massive, the Roos winning there wouldn't be an upset and they get that then we're likely cactus unless we beat Adelaide + one of Sydney, Geelong or West Coast.
  12. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. He's ok with the ball, is a massive liability without it. Either he or Vince goes now and the other follows at the end of the year.
  13. And the financials are much better there now that the AFL own the joint. Not a big deal to play one game there if the alternative is Darwin.
  14. For all those hoping for the MCG, from three weeks ago...
  15. Build a bar facing the platforms at Jolimont so we can taunt platforms full of opposition plebs after games.
  16. Didn't think much of him, but Vince should be in the gun first.
  17. So we want him but he's not available. Landfill journalism from Fox.
  18. Our salary cap must have accidentally had an extra zero added to it. Bank error in your favour, collect out of contract players.
  19. Darren Cuthbertson must be scathing at the way two games can get you $750,000 these days..
  20. Ron Barassi Sr - Ron Barassi Jr George Bickford - Stephen Bickford Lloyd Burgmann - Shane Burgmann Des Campbell - Bradley Campbell Bert Chadwick - Bob Chadwick Denis Clark - Michael Clark Jack Collins - Geoff Collins, Mike Collins Edward Cordner - Don Cordner, Denis Cordner, Ted Cordner, John Cordner Ted Cordner - David Cordner Brent Crosswell - Tom Kavanagh Roy Dowsing - Rob Dowsing Adrian Dullard - Tony Dullard Richie Emselle - Ken Emselle Jack Foster - Rob Foster Alan Johnson - Chris Johnson Robert C Johnson - Robert B Johnson John Lord Sr. - John Lord Jr. Peter Maynard - Corey Maynard Bob McKenzie - Robert McKenzie Tom McLean - Glenn McLean Graham Molloy - Glenn Molloy Norm Smith - Peter Smith Shaun Smith - Joel Smith Steven Stretch - Billy Stretch Tony Sullivan - Chris Sullivan Todd Viney - Jack Viney NB: copy and paste, links not manually added
  21. We are brethren. (Not the religious type). I love the Studio 54 plates of cocaine jumper more than almost anything else we've done in a decade.
  22. How about a question mark in the title? I read it and was hopeful it had been given the boot. Bring back the disco blue.
  23. What about his post match interview when asked about when it started to get nasty with Selwood -"I love that [censored]". Put that on a t-shirt.
  24. If they've got ripper names like Freddie Clutterbuck then yes please
  25. Thread highlight was Dennis Jordan of Pakenham throwing in a random cheap-shot at Gillard. It was like a letter to the Herald Sun 50/50 column.
