Who will the Demons target next?
How is going out and buying expensive players for top 10 draft picks 'Moneyball'? What a rag of a publication. Edit: Have just realised the whole column is called Moneyball. Still a rag.

Casey v Box Hill - Practice Game on Sunday
Was fine for a state league side when they were solo. We've taken off, pulled their website under ours and obviously sent the Twitterist to Tahiti for the winter.

Gawn Hospitalised Days Prior to Round 1
Based on the RIchmond pre-season game Preuss would have been dead by half time if we'd tried to play him as the solo ruckman in the heat. I'd play him this week but has to be as a second banana, not first ruck. Wish there was a mature, competent ruckman we could have parked on the rookie list as an emergency option - if Gawn went down with a serious issue we'd be in all sorts. Got away with it a couple of years ago, don't think we would now.

The History of 0 and 2
One team in 120 years coming back from a 0-6 start isn't much of a comfort. May as well say West Coast came back from 0-1 to win the flag last year so start queuing for Grand Final tickets now.

Casey v Box Hill - Practice Game on Sunday
The Casey coverage is dire. At least when they had their own website you'd know who the goalkickers were. P.S - Has anyone checked on the welfare of Casey's Twitterist? @caseydemonsFC last posted anything on March 12 and has four total posts this year.

Dunn Know Howe this happened
Hope they finish 1/2 in the B&F of a team that runs last.

Bulldogs "Thor" Guernsey
It looks horrible, but considering all the other shenanigans going on around the game not worth starting a picket line over if you were a Dogs fan. Also hard to take the moral highground while following a club that props up its profit by flogging two games interstate every year. I'm sure the stakes are much lower with their novelty jumper but I'd wear anything it meant playing one of the NT games at home.

Casey Practice Match (10/3)
Nothing on the VFL site (except a full time score with no links) and Casey's website has been wiped out for a half-arsed sub-page on the MFC site. Hadn't considered NEAFL site but nada from them or the Lions either. Now, I know the interested audience would be limited to single digits but I still need this for the sake of completeness. Have tweeted @ the Casey account to see if they have anything.

Casey Practice Match (10/3)
Thank you. Trawling the tweets for goalkickers still leaves me four short (Bradtke 2, Chandler 2, Melksham 2, Bradford 1, Collis 1, Sparrow 1, Viney 1) but it's a start. Future generations of insane people who want VFL practice match scores thank you.

Most Heartwarming Win?

Most Heartwarming Win?
1989 Elimination Final - my first game Round 2, 1998 - the year I got back into footy after a couple of years of teenage sooking. We went about 45 points up, North got back within a goal, we held on to win and I was back in love with footy 2000 Semi Final with the wild last quarter comeback against the Blues R18, 2004 when we hit the top of the ladder after beating Hawthorn. It was a rubbish performance that should have pointed to the rubbish that followed over the next five weeks but the glee on our fans when the ladder was shown with us on top was beautiful. The Essendon win in 2012 when I was so tense I couldn't walk down the stairs of the Ponsford for about 20 minutes Most of the wins 2012 - 2017 Part one and two of the 2018 finals series

Most Heartbreaking Loss?
Even though I missed it by not getting into footy until '88 I still feel traumatised by the 87 PF. But for games I actually saw: Round 6, 1992 - the last quarter capitulation against Essendon that has meant untold stress about leads under 50 1998 Prelim - With no scientific basis I thought we were going to knock over North and win the Grand Final 186 is an obvious one, but it was so out of the blue that at the time I thought we were just going to neck the coach and get back on with being comfortably mid-table Round 1, 2013 - when I allowed myself to realise that Neeld was a nuffy and that we were going to be pox for years to come. 2018 prelim over so quickly it doesn't even come close to qualifying, and in retrospect winning the '04 EF might have set us up for a run through an open finals series.
