Aside from Track we look weak in the contest.

It was a legit error. Milkshake also threw the ball about 20 metres and wasn’t pinged and Whitfield wasn’t paid an i50 mark that (I think) was there. So we are possibly 2 goals better off from umpiring mistakes ourselves. It’s not as big a factor as our inability to win clearances when the pressure is on.

^This. We started getting smashed in centre clearances which has become a very familiar theme. And failed to take our chances. I don’t think the umpiring has been as influential as others. A couple of absolute howlers our way as well.

How many high tackles?

Maybe so, but if he is not the right person to lead the club then keeping him on effectively wastes another season in 2021 while so many of our best players are in or entering the prime of their careers. We are underperforming, we have the worst skills in the competition, our selection has been baffling more often than not and we still give up momentum for long periods within games. I for one don’t want to have to sit through the same issues again next year.

So if we win our last two games, we would need one of: - Bulldogs losing to one of Hawks or Freo - Collingwood losing to both Suns and Port - Saints losing to GWS None of these looks highly likely but at the same time, any are possible. In fact, the longest odds would probably be on us winning both our games.

What is happening? It’s like the twilight zone. Can’t see the bulldogs coughing up a spot though even if we roll GWS. And Carlton will reel Sydney in.

Now is actually not a bad time to be in the market for a coach. There is an experienced backup plan in Ross Lyon who has coached two different clubs to GFs, a gettable legend in Al Clarkson and some great assistants floating around like Sam Mitchell, Adem Yze etc. Now’s the time to move IMO, who knows who will be available next year.

At least, unlike COVID, Melbourne is categorically finished now.
