Still a work in progress. We still lack a decent Ruckman and a star midfielder to match the best in the Comp.

I'm always hoping that Jack will come good and get some consistency and maybe a bit if mongrel, but I'm starting to feel like I did with Colin Sylvia.....waiting......waiting...............waiting. I always think back to when Jack was drafted , and a mate of mine who coached him in the Vic metro side said at the the time that we had made a huge mistake in drafting him.......why? Soft as butter was his response. But he kicked all those goals at the championships? Just happened to have a bit of a purple patch and got on the end of a few delivered by a very talented midfield. No doubt he has the skills but just don't think he has the ticker or the appetite for destruction.

Bail needs to fill that Kent role so I'd pick him Dawes and Jetta need to come back and I'd give Toumpas a chance. Outs...Watts,JKH,Mckenzie and Michie.

I still think we lack a couple of real class midfielders. Brayshaw and Petracca may become what we need but it will take a couple of years. We really have to land a big fish in the off season such as a Shiel or a Dangerfield.
-
Build up his body.....who knows, he always had good pace.
-
Congrats to one of our most skilfull and loyal players Jack Watts, on 100 games, may there be many more!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW

Petracca will be the icing on the cake....another big bodied midfielder with special qualities....he will be our Fyfe, and the puzzle will be almost complete.....Jamars been good but still think we need a more dominating ruckman. -
Dom Tyson just has to learn to think a little quicker and dispose of the ball with out getting caught so often.

That's what makes it so sweet Doc...seeing my son enjoy it and being able to salivate over the big Hulkmeister!

Three things Bernie Vince has become this new super tagger maniac! We are playing a brand of aggressive ferocious football, which I think is a combination of hunger and a realisation that theyhave the guys around them that can do the job, along with a very dangerous forward line. The young first year players are leading the way, in Vandenberg, Brayshaw and Hogan...finally some talent that performs from day one.
-
Look forward to seeing him again in age of Ultron.
-
I thought Brayshaw was very Selwood like tonight.

In the past there may have been a false dawn or two, but now I feel we have genuinely turned the corner. I say that because I have faith in the game plan, the coach, but especially the players....guys like Hogan, McDonald, Brayshaw, Vandenberg...and ready mades like Cross, Vincent ,Lumumba, Garlett and Dawes...we are finally building some real quality.
-
I'm not used to this....ummmmm....I don't know what to say.

Adelaide v Melbourne POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 3
DeeZee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Crows were off today, we should have won, but poor skills cost us this time. This will be the difference between us having seven or eight wins or only four or five this year. -

Viney would have been perfectly suited to today's conditions. -

We still need a ruckman that can hurt the opposition around the ground. -
If we bring that effort every week the wins will come.
-
Howes kicking was as bad as Watts marking. Garletts two terrible misses as well as Hogans were almost the difference in the game.

Thought he was very good in the preseason, and even though a little rusty in his first real match back against GWS, and not clunking his marks , his work rate was still very good, will only get better once he settles into the season and finds his marking mojo.
