  1. So by "working together as a team" you mean blame the new guy for all our historical ills?
  2. I agree, we may have been able to package him in with a mid first round pick to land Boak.
  3. I hope so.
  4. I've been saying for over a year that we should trade either Jamar or Martin. Jamar has been with us for about a decade and has had one great season and a bunch of average ones. His only strength is winning the hitouts but since 2010 the amount that have gone to advantage are negligible. He is pretty rubbish around the ground other than being a chopout for the long kick down the line from kickouts. He doesn't drop back to fill a hole, he doesn't push forward to kick goals and when he does take a mark around the ground he always dishes off a handball usually to a teammate under pressure. Martin I am not convinced on. I think he plays better as a first ruck and not the back-up but I'm not convinced he can play KPF/KPD. His value was sky-high at the end of last year and we may have been able to get something more than he was worth in a trade. We can't and shouldn't get rid of both but with Gawn, Spencer and Fitzpatrick as cheaper/younger back-ups I think our list would/would've benefited from trading one out last year or this year. Obviously Jamar is now signed for 3 years which I think was a mistake, give him 2 max but not 3. He could be finished after enxt year and then we're stuck with a one dimensional ruck on our list for another 2 years (on decent money too you would assume).
  5. So what's your answer? Do you think we shod sack Neeld? Doing that would only prove that we are an absolute basketcase with no right to compete in a professional competition. If you think our list is good l, as good as Sydney's, and dint even take into account the injuries we've had or the fact Neeld is in his first season and has inherited some longstanding problems within the club then I can't really help you. I'd say what I really thought but I don't want to get banned for poster abuse.
  6. The club is clearly bluffing but I am happy for them to do so and I hope it works. GWS seem to not believe it but if we can put any doubt in their minds whatsoever it may be enough, Of course we may end up 17th or 18th (although unlikely) which would make it even more interesting or conversely redundant.
  7. Haha I actually had to think about that to remember what they changed it to.
  8. So what you're saying is we stuffed up in not getting Sheedy in 2007 but stuffed up again by canning Bailey last year because we won 8 games? Bailey was obviously a brilliant coach as evidenced by the fact that all of the other clubs (Freo, Saints, Adel, Dogs) who were looking for new coaches last year threw millions at him to get him at their clubs. Bailey was a dud breeding a generation of frontrunners at the club continuing on from Daniher before him. We now have a coach trying to implement some accountability, defensiveness and 21st century tactics and you are crying because he hasn't done it in his first few months at the club who has been a cellar dweller for 5 seasons? Your continual sniping at Neeld and the club is tiresome and pathetic. By all means hold them to account, they are not infallible, but don't be a fundamentalist about it.
  9. Nah fatigue would have no impact on a guy in his first senior game back after brutally breaking his leg last year meaning losing all fitness he would have built up in his short career especially with our rotations down due to injuries. How was his disposal in the first 3 quarters?
  10. Rubbish. We had some key players out today, were two down on the bench for most of the second half, were playing a side fighting for a finals spot and are a bottom four side. I'm not happy we lost either but it was a marked improvement from last week, The most disappointing thing about today really was the size of the crowd. 13K bloody pathetic, pull your fingers out. Apparently we have 35K members were the bloody hell were they today??? Suck it up princesses and realise you support your team wherever they play not just at the G. Claiming it was due to MCC members is just such a bloody soft excuse I don't even know where to start. If that is true then these yuppies need to get a grip and support the club and the team, just because they're playing down the west end of town is no excuse not to turn up to the game it's not like we were playing in bloody Ballarat or something. PATHETIC!!!!
  11. Was pretty happy with the effort today - yeah we didn't win but I thought we fought it out OK for 3 quarters and without Clark and Watts and then losing Jamar early and Bennell shortly after at that. Was happy to see Couch, Blease & Strauss out there, Tommy Mac continues his good form and Green found something. Petterd is in trouble though needs to make an impact, Bate hasn't been killing it but doing OK. Also lol at Richmond hopefully GC can get a win even though I'd love Richmond to make finals.
  12. It's at Docklands just behind Spencer St station Sorry. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/140933/default.aspx
  13. I like Moloney, but I don't know if that means he should stay on next year. I can see the argument for keeping him (depth, protection for younger bodies) but if we had a better developed list I think he would be gone. He doesn't kick enough goals or create enough scoring opportunities for an "attacking" midfielder to damage the opposition, if he kicked more goals or created more scoring opportunities he would be safe.
  14. Would rather Caddy - Essendon won't be able to work a trade for him and if he is going to leave GC we would be in the box seat. Would like Boak but probably not for what he will cost us.
  15. Howe has been OK but I think his ability has been oversold somewhat. If he learns to nail his set shots he will be an asset, but if not he could easily turn into another Petterd or Dunn.
  16. Veteran list rules have changed - instead of half the veterans salary going onto the salary cap it is now only $100K per player. So no, I don't think the veteran list will really help Green unfortunately. Would like to see him play out the year and see if he has one more go in him but I don't think he's earned another year on his form in the past two seasons.
  17. Haha notsureifserious? He is 15 and you want to write him off already???
  18. Yeah that's fair - I would still prefer Caddy he seems to have a bigger build and seems more of a goalkicker but if Boak is available for our mid first round comp pick after having ruled out Caddy then I wouldn't be unhappy to get him. Wouldn't really want to pay pick 4 though (unless we can get Viney in 2nd round) and would want to rule out Caddy first. No reason we can't make a play for both though and see what happens.
  19. To put it into perspective though Moloney's never kicked 10 or more in a season for us and Boak is about on par with Jones for how many he has kicked. I can't think of any other midfielders on our list who can kick regular goals (Trengove last year but not this year).
  20. Can we merge the Boak threads? No need for two separate ones discussing the same thing.
  21. Love it how Rucci makes the jump from "leaving Port" to "heading to Geelong" with no thought of the in-between need for an actual trade. If he forced their hand and went to the draft I would take him with pick 13 which will be before Geelong's first pick assuming they don't trade for an earlier one - call his bluff this time doubt he will sit out for a year like Ball threatened to.
  22. Posted that link on one of the other threads, despite what they say he is gone, only issue is where. We can offer money and reasonable trade so should be in the box seat (or at least get involved in a 3-way trade).
