Farewell Clayton Oliver
Is that Craig Jennings home?

Bailey Humphrey
IF he wants to come back to Vic the option is go with he club who can make it happen now and has money on the table Or wait 12 months and hope your preferred club (if it's not MFC) can put together a trade to satisfy GC It is a long term decision, he can sacrifice 12 months now and get to the place he wants to be for the next 12 years which is a no brainer. The only risk is injury in the meantime which could see the offers withdrawn/reduced. We are not an attractive proposition on any metric, if you were choosing us compared with Hawks, Pies, Cats even Blues, Dogs etc what is it that puts us above the rest? The only thing in our favour is we can make the trade happen now, have dollars to offer and have King as coach (due to his previous relationship). On any other measure we are undesirable and yeah, for those who have argued so vehemently against it, Casey is a massive issue. Edit - didn't read to the end of your post. What makes us a good club? We've been a basket case for years, stars wanting out, off field issues etc

Farewell Christian Petracca
The other part of having a weaker draft class is even those who seem good have been playing against inferior opposition. So how good are they really/how will they match up to AFL players?

Farewell Christian Petracca
2003 was Cooney Sylvia McLean etc Pendlebury was 2005 with Dale Thomas & Marc Murphy I think

Farewell Christian Petracca
These two absolute nuffies "No way would I be trading two 1sts for Petracca" "Tim Lamb must get a Kings ransom for Petracca" 🤦

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Regardless of what anyone thinks about the decision to move on Oliver, the club better be prepared for an absolute tsunami of angry feedback if they let him walk to the Pies especially if it is for nominal draft picks and we are picking up a huge portion of his salary for 5 more years.

Add Georgiadis to that list too, right?

I agree on Oliver and May but Petracca seems more player driven (as in Petracca, not the playing group) than coach/club driven.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I wrote a couple of months back that if I were the new coach I would move Oliver on but hold Petracca to his contract. Oliver/Viney in the same midfield can no longer work and we can't move on Viney, Oliver also poor from a cultural perspective. Petracca you have more flexibility with and I'd back myself in to get the best out of him and for him to get the best out of himself after returning from injury in 2025 from a non-existent fitness base at the start of last preseason. I also said I would talk to Petracca and let him know I wanted him to be a leader of this team and next captain after Gawn but that ship has clearly sailed over the edge of the known world.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Garbage.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
That role was as a recruiter. Scouting potential draftees. He was appointed List Manager in 2020.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Didn't Tim Lamb join in late 2020 after Mahoney left? May, Lever and Langdon were brought in by Mahoney.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Lamb by name, Lamb by nature?

I'd love to believe that. I really would.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Wasn't Frost brought in by Mahoney?

CHANGES 2025: Parts 1 to 5 by The Oracle
We're losing Spargo, McVee, Billings, Fullarton, Sestan, Verrall, Brown, Hore (8) Probably losing May, Petracca, Oliver (3) That's 11 list spots to fill with only Mihocek and Heath coming in so far! How will we fill the other 9, obviously we have White nominating as a FS and Mentha as a rookie upgrade that's still a lot of list spots to try and fill in a supposedly weak draft.

Exactly, it's not about what GC will deal, it's about convincing Humphrey to nominate us. If he does then game on, if not, as @Redleg said, we have a problem.

What if Humphrey says he doesn't want to come to us?
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Yeah exactly, so was a response to the discussion he had with King/MFC. It's what I thought too, was just trying to clarify as the other poster made it sound as though they thought there was no relationship between the two which I found unfathomable.

Elite game, didn't poll a coaches vote 🤔 Shows how far the standards have slipped.
