  1. Excuses excuses. It's 18 v 18 (or 22 v 22) that's all that matters.
  2. He did some good things going forward - still useless as [censored] on a bull once the opposition gains possession. If he doesn't realise by now you can't pick and choose when you want to chase he never will.
  3. Damn right - nothing against the kid he has talen but needs to develop in the 2's. please don't [censored] his career by throwing him in the deep end like we did to Watts and Trengove.
  4. Why? He'd only dish it off in a panic to a teammate under pressure.
  5. "Hitouts" is the most useless stat in the game. What good is winning a hit out if it doesn't go to our advantage? None. He had one kick today which was ineffective. He has had ONE effective kick for the year. Get Spencer in of put Clark in the ruck, Jamar is not only poor he is actually a liability to the team.
  6. Not getting smashed by 100 points each week is a miracle?
  7. Go to the reunion mate. I'll be at the G after contemplating a few weeks off after last Saturday. After the forced resignation of Schwab which I had argued for I think st only fair that I now rock up this week to support the club. I also feel this is when our support counts the most when the team is down on the canvas and getting smacked from all sides. I'll be there to yell "Get up Rock" and if we get smashed I'll be the one yelling "You're a tomato" and ordering another drink at the bar.
  8. Hang on you accused me of a "lynch mob" mentality when the fact is I had good reason to think Schwab had to go and spelt it out which you just dismissed. Whatever I'm not interested in point scoring and I told you so's just stating a fact. I think the decision the club made was right and so do you so at the end of the day who cares and lets move on and support the Club as best we can. By the way although I thought Schwab had to go it was never personal and I think he always TRIED to do what was best for the club. He has handled his exit with dignity when he could have very easily potted the club and further wedged the fractures and for that he must be applauded.
  9. Eade, Ratten, Roos (doubt he's come though), Williams for starters. You could also throw money at Clarkson and see if he'd bite, similar to what Freo did with Lyon.
  10. Blah blah blah - I wrote a post in one of the other Schwab threads clearly outlining his and the clubs "achievements" since he came back to the club but it was no surprise to see the likes of you and Satyriconhome were happy to just ignore those facts completely and instead just deflect with sniping anyone who dared criticise Schwab and baiting RR. The funny thing is now that the club has decided to force Schwab's resignation you believe it was the right decision because the club will always do the correct thing as far as you're concerned because they "know what's going on in the club" and we don't. So either way you spin it I was correct the whole time it is now you who has changed his position. Rather than take on board the facts and use your logical functions to form an opinion its easier for you to ridicule people who form a cohesive argument as not being in the inner sanctum and waving pitchforks which is really quite pathetic of you. I must say though for someone with so little to say you sure do spend a helluva lot of time posting your thoughts. Basically all your opinions can be summed as "the club knows best".
  11. The point is about abrogating responsibility to your perceived superiors instead of using your own analytical and perceptive powers to use logic and reason and think for yourself no matter what the situation. Who cares if you're at the club each day or not, you can still analyse the outcomes and the information that is released publicly. If there is info that the club doesn't release that's fine but they can't expect the members to just take their word for it.
  12. Yeah I don't attend Cabinet or Caucus meetings either so I just trust the government to know better than me about what's best for me.
  13. You said in your post Schwab was sacked because of "Trial by media" and intimated that us poor simple sods had been manipulated by the media to carry out their anti-Schwab agenda. To be so blind to the issues within the club is naive at best and sycophantic or downright stupid at worst. Tell me what was in the Andrews Report? What was discussed between the players and Stynes/McLardy in the lead-up to 186? Answer me that before you start pontificating about how these divisions within the club are just media beat-ups. I applaud your dedication to volunteer your time to the club but that is not feasible for everyone. Just because you shook a couple of hands though doesn't mean you have anymore insight into the internal politics of the club that anyone else.
  14. Hahahahahahaha fool - couldn't possibly be that Schwab had done a poor job and had created and entrenched divisions within the club. It's nothing personal and Schwab handled himself with dignity yesterday however he had to go and not because Caroline Wilson had an ancient axe to grind but because it was in the best interests of he Melbourne Footy Club. Hopefully we can move on now and not worry about looking backwards and further entrenching the fractures within the club mainly between the admin and FD.
  15. Schwab had to go and the main reason was as a means of trying to address the rotten culture of the club. He did not create it but he has presided over its continuation and as CEO did nothing to lead the club away from this towards a better culture setting the standards of the entire club and in fact helped to entrench some of the issues. This being the case anyone looking for this act (sacking Schwab) to have an instant effect to the point of the players running out this week and playing out of their skins will be sadly disappointed and are missing the point.
  16. I don't necessarily agree with that at this stage. The President should stay until a better one can be found and should stick around til the end of the year. I don't think his position is untenable as Schwab's was and think he has done an OK job in the face of some pretty pressing issues over the last couple of years and was thrust into the role only due to the death of Stynes. Unless there are relationship issues between the players/FD and McLardy as there were with Schwab I don't think he should go just yet. Some of his comments over the last couple of days were pretty unprofessional but I'll give him a bit more time especially considering he has made the tough call on Schwab.
  17. Doesn't really have an effect on the running of the club but it does smack of midlife crisis and is pretty hilarious if true.
  18. I heard that the other day and thought it was a joke or someone taking the [censored].
  19. Stand next to him at stoppages, follow him round the ground, hunt him with speed and aggression. It's not rocket science.
  20. Lets see what's the difference between having trouble holding him to low figures and having no one with 5 metres of him for the whole game applying any pressure?
  21. Correct. At the moment we are so bad we can't even think about putting someone in place who can win us a premiership. If we can get someone who sets cultural standards and makes us a team who is a chance to win each time we take the field it will be a success. Whether Sheedy can do that I'm not sure but I'd be looking at guys like him, Williams, Eade, Clarksom or Ratten. We need an experienced coach who knows what it's like to win a flag either as a player or head coach.
  22. Sounds like July 2011, nothing's changed - well some things have but clearly not enough has wink wink.
