You might be right bin, but what are you celebrating? The fact that those things haven't happened? We've done solidly this trade period but still lost Frost, player dissatisfaction was very real, ranging from issues with injury management, to game day strategy and coaching. Goodwin was also never really close to being sacked but the club has done it's due diligence and has been testing the wares for possible replacements and has been for about 12-14 weeks. It is a given that what's happened will happen, getting in free agents means [censored] all if you finish 17th. As does coaching changes. Erratic change in business management either goes extremely well or REALLY bad so there is no in between. Goodwin will either be guiding us to a strong finals showing, or his AFL coaching career is over. That is all that matters at this point. Celebrating coaching changes at this point is depressing af because if we'd had a half decent season we wouldn't have needed to gut the fish. There is a reason why these changes have happened. And it's not because of the "All is well, all is good" brigade. They've happened as a symptom of all of the predictions and rumours you mentioned. They are a direct result of it.

I'm very concerned tbh. When I saw our midfield and centreline with Langdon and Tomlinson it still doesn't fill me with confidence. We are still excruciatingly top heavy and will struggle to win 8 games imo. If we lose Langdon and one of May or Lever to injury we are back in the same situation we were in this year. 2018 was our window and we missed it imo. We've skipped over multiple drafts and instead gone all in across other years, neglecting player development and young talent. Only one player under 21 is damning. If we miss finals again this year, Goodwin won't coach again at AFL level. So much is on the line in 2020.

Yes titan, I have. Great clubs don't lose the battles we lose. It's as simple as that. Very happy to be proven wrong by yourself and others. I mean that. Go back if you can be bothered and see my posts after our round 1 loss to Port. I was very much in battle with the likes of SWYL and a few others who constantly belittled the club at the time. This year has completely broken me. It arguably started after our loss to Hawthorn in round 4-5 2018 but 2019 was a huge burn for me and this club. I think the point is binman is that it would be more worthwhile looking to trade Oscar for some value, maybe late 2nd round, and then re-sign Frost, rather than to let Frost walk. This is shocking list management no matter how you look at it. Especially if we fail to land Elliot and are forced to overpay a spud like Tomlinson to get our cap space filled.

If Elliot signs with Brisbane, it would be another indictment on Goodwin and co at the hands of Brisbane. Their progression and performance this year across the season showed up Goodwin and the club, and now we may lose a free agency race against a team that started 2018 at 0-8. I know we've really been no better than Brisbane over the past decade but 2019 has been an absolute dagger into our reputation and appeal to players, fans and media alike. Even Richmond was able to get Prestia and Caddy over the line after their pathetic 2016 season. We stand to get Langdon and overpay for a Frost replacement in Tomlinson, when the former probably would have been cheaper to keep.

Won't be leaving Collingwood.

Longer we go without hearing of a decision the more likely is he's leaving Collingwood imo.
