  1. two goals this quarter to Carlton after we overuse the ball at half back and refuse to clear it. Gifting them goals.
  2. Omg Weiderman. This game has heartbreak written all over it.
  3. Gifted them that goal. Absolutely gifted.
  4. Don't say that. We have had the quintessential Lewis turnover yet.
  5. Carlton plays confident albeit chaotic football. They are playing well above their weight. Evidently, we are playing well below ours. Carlton will get a run on. They look dangerous every time they go forward. Still think we're set for a 8-10 goal loss. Nothing in that quarter convinced me otherwise.
  6. Who's looking forward to McGovern Kents Kingsley-ing it up and kicking 5 goals today?
  7. They already have. Bartlett came out shortly before the coaching changes to say he went down to the football department. what do you want them to do?
  8. Anyway, injuries aren't an excuse anymore.
  9. It makes perfect sense. Either you're illiterate or you can't face reality.
  10. Please stop with this. No amount of injuries or surgeries turns a top 4 team into a potentially bottom 2 team.
  11. We have to be the only club in the history of the game to play finals, have players go under the knife in the preseason, and such was the significance and impact to THE ENTIRE TEAM, that in a matter of months we become one of the worst teams in the comp. Misson's report to the board isn't a reason or justification. It acts as an excuse now. And highlights how unprepared the football department was for the consequences of its own actions. That they knew there would be a slow start to the season isn't reason enough as to why we're having a poor season. It's part of the underlying problem, and imo puts significant pressure on Goodwin and co.
  12. Love the fact we've opted for tall and slow on a wet day and dropped one of our fastesr in Oskar Baker who plays with more confidence and provides more drive than most of the team.
  13. We'll be lucky to kick 5 goals. Watch Carlton pummel us by 10 goals.
  14. Yes it does
  15. It's been a fairly stagnant 2 months dating back to our win against Hawthorn. Better than rounds 1-6, but still uninspiring. Overall, we have gotten better at executing a very poor gameplan, with similarly poor skills. Better, but still quite poor. Our bigger test atm is against the likes of Carlton, North and the Bulldogs. As it stands these are three teams play much better football than us, who subjectively have lists with less overall quality, but appear to be finding form as the season progresses. We however appear to be fumbling towards the end of the season. We have the 17th easiest draw to end the season. Anything less than a 8-14 record to end the season would raise even more questions and concerns that what already exist.
  16. It means they played well enough consistently enough over three years to play finals. We did it once and crashed again. Richmond rebuilt their midfield and forward line by bringing in the likes of Prestia and Caddy and co. It was a mini rebuild. They traded out experience to rebuild their core by bringing in strong role players. They completely changed their approach to their list.
  17. He stands to poll 0 this year. Richmond traded Deledio despite consistently polling 10-15 every year from 2012-2016.

Who remembers Daniher absolutely blasting the team in 1998, I think after our loss to Essendon? Came out and said we were shocking, didn't play good footy. I'll never forget it because he said it in the rooms after the game to the media and you could see Steven Febey in the background listening in. We haven't heard a coach criticize performance since Daniher. We are stuck in the Roos days of cuddling players.
  19. You mention Richmond as a counter whilst also mentioning three straight finals appearances. Wins are irrelevant. They played finals. And they also had a fairly major list turnover at season's end. So you agree a rebuild is necessary?
  20. A slight drop this year was to be expected imo. I think my early year predictions had us anywhere from 15th to 12th. But that was based more on the competition evening out and more teams improving than falling off. And just the general trajectory of a young team However what we've seen is a few improve (Brisbane, Adelaide) a few stay the same (Port, Bulldogs, Swans), and then two majorly drop off in Hawthorn and Melbourne. Except our drop off is far greater than anyone could have expected. Good teams just don't drop off this much. Regardless of the circumstances. We may be looking at a 2002-2003 Daniher-esque rebuild.
  21. I'm not referring to last year. My post was in response to davey saying that anyone crying for a rebuild would then want another rebuild if we don't content after 5 years. In response I said that, yeah, if you're not contending after 5 years, you need to rebuild. But good stuff for taking my post out of context. But even in the context of our current situation, we are one game off the bottom almost two thirds through the season, three years into Goodwin's tenure, and in year six of the current rebuild. If our depth can't sustain injuries enough that we're staring down the barrel of finishing bottom 4, that would suggest a rebuild of sorts is needed, no? I'm actually surprised that even after round 23 2017, the game vs Hawthorn in round 4 2018, and last year's Prelim that alarm bells weren't ringing for a few of you. There is clearly a combination of coaching, list management, player management, and conditioning mishaps that find us in this current predicament. We have to be the only team in the league that takes half a decade to be half decent, because crashing down to the bottom third of the ladder again after only a few months and injuries. Either we need to reassess the list or it's a coaching issue. Which one is it?
  22. Well, yeah. If after 5 years into a rebuild you're not contending, you make a change. What are you suggesting? We do nothing, make no changes and just hope? Are you in charge of our gameplan by any chance?
  23. Mark my words, Carlton will absolutely pummel us. I'm talking 10+ goals. They are due. And so are we. You can just smell it in the air. They are playing confident football and have played good footy at times this year. We are uninspired, down on confidence, poorly coached, and inept. Jumanji drums will be beating for Goodwin this time next week.
  24. Not wrong but May's frustration highlights how poorly our coaching team is developing these players. Frost flies into packs and just randomly punches it. Zero strategy. Just chaos. 2-3 times a game it goes direct to an opponent. Today May lost his [censored] and held him to account. Make the opponent feel it, and get the ball to a position for your rovers to win it. Or hit the boundry/behinds. Frost does neither. And today appears to be the first time ever that Frost has been told not to punch the ball to nothinginess like an under13s player. Frost is a smart footballer that plays dumb. May is exactly the time of teammate he needs.
  25. You may be right but you can't ignore the facts. The reality of where we have come from, where we were, and where we are points to something being majorly amiss here. The wheels have fallen off. A slump is finishing 10th-12th after a finals years. We're looking at bottom 4. Potentially bottom 2 if Carlton's form continues.
