absolutely.

... wore him like an extra 2 + 2nd skin. played him body on buddy. Buddy was 'lost in space'.
-
I was talking in traditional Melbournefc team terms. Last year, we were more aggressive, Yes... but which of our players excelled in the body on body skills. ? maybe Jetta. Who else uses their body well to out leverage the opponent ? I believe sMay is good at this.
-
We're in agreement... I think the role is more important than the personnel... so horses for courses. Preuss for tandem ruck teams. Keilty or tSmith for single ruck teams. He's only 19 https://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-05-12/i-was-only-19-the-real-story/6463668 .... appropriate with ANZAC eve just around the corner.

Coniglio. Billings Elliot. ???

I would say, from the little I know of things Re May, that his attitude toward coming into his first Pre-Season with his new club, imo shows his laconic attitude toward his physical preparation generally. So I'm suggesting he might never have had himself in true elite condition and fitness. So this is good and bad. in a sense his body could be underdeveloped ??? cardiovascular... maybe some of our Physio Doctor types could share here ? But on the positive side, he could make big strides with a change of attitude and of desire, and dedication to improve his body and physical condition... similarly, I put Tracca in a similar boat.

Casey Demons v North Melbourne VFL - Round 2

They went this route with Weide... played him a couple of games each season, until he was ready to perform. -
I have us inside the Top 8... after Rnd-8. .

I agree, 'Ds56'. Both Hannan and Melk are excellent on their feet... both excellent going for goal, as is Weide. Add the nippy smalls to these boys, and Weide, TMc and Preuss, or other strong overhead marking tall, and our forwardline is potent.

You should have joined the police force Nashr. a natural.

Will we divide our skippers in the next week & a half ? Saints - Tigers. Will Viney rest out the Saints game, for Maynard... and Jones rest out the Tigers game, for Viney ?
-
Lewis would be touch and go this week, even if we were stretched and needed him... but I'd feel more confident of him coming in against the Tiges, when some won't come up following the Saints game. It's a MUST for us to go in fully fit against this weeks team... and the Saints are holding a top 8 spot tonight. We want the points turnaround on them. So I think Lewis won't play the Saints... but will be one to come in for the Tiges game.
-
Corey Wagner. But Wagner will be a harder worker upfield (assist mids) than Jeffy.... so I'm wondering which matchups... Which opposition has the hardest working midfield ? Aints or Tiges ? And which teams defence will we find more space inside, Because that's the team we should play Jeffy against
-
The interchange bench was a new rule, which I think started as 2 players.. then expanded, then expanded again, then reduced, then expanded again.
-
I'd like to see how all the players lined up in their starting positions. And how they went.
-
We flood the F50 trying to lock the ball in our half. and cutoff the escape kick. What I mean is to not flood the F50, but to leave it relatively open... but flood the area in front of the Oppo' ball carrier, congesting all areas the opposition has to kick to. Whether It is solely (666) is questionable, but whatever it is, there is more open areas to run into, atmo. Which I think is a good thing.
-
Jeffy might come in for Corey. I would maintain Spargo in the side. He contributed to us getting into the game and winning it. His linkup work is very important to us... we have been ordinary in transition. I think we will see many changes between the Saints and Tigers matches, Re the 4 day turnaround. Who do you think of the tall backs matches up againts the Saints 'cf' ? Petty or OMc ? Also which of Tigers and Saints, has the most dangerous small forwards, for us to counter ?
-
Totally. His composure or urgency, are important to us. Hhe makes very good decisions and distributes the ball like a point guard.
-
That's the obvious answer under (666) for the turnover inside our own F50... is a rolling flood of the space in front of the opposition ball. To win the ball back after we've hopefully drawn their runners forward and out of our own F50. This will mean a congested midfield. Half backs like Daniel Rich will be handy. As will Tall powerful overhead marks inside the midfield and across the F50. Plus foot speed inside F50.

I wonder If Petty will get a go in the next two weeks... with only 4 days between our Saints game and the ANZAC Eve game v Tigers. I think we will see a shuffle of players between the two games, to try to maintain fresh legs, and strong running. I think Goody said OMc was concussed last game ? I wonder which of these two opposition teams Petty would matchup on best, for us ? -

They must have asked him to get more physical. -
I agree with you RE the Mids expecting the structure, and that their insights will expect that... but the personal can change, imo. I think we were better... with not just Preuss, but we had more nimble players generally across the field. We added a Tall, and Stretch, Spargo, and Wagner and Hore. Our defence was more mobile, and our Mids gave themselves a rocket... and I suspect our half-forwards also got a rocket, based on player efforts... if you CATch my drift. So I think it was the 3 Talls... that, eased pressure on Weideman, and allowed TMc to play higher, with Gawn. And I think this part helped our Mids as well. I think the positive difference in our game was the different structure and balance. That extra tall forward... and the extra mobility/speed Via Stretch, Spargo, and Wagner/Hore... the structural balance worked for us. Our players were under less pressure, like this, imv.

I'd be happy to play Preuss 2 games running, then rest him for Keilty of tSmith... play one of these guys for a week or two, and bring in the Preuss again for another couple. Based on match-ups. I think having him in for a couple, then rest... might stop opposition coaches from putting to much study in on him, and our combo.. shuffle them around a bit. Keeps our balance fresh and alternating. rather than becoming predictable vanilla.
