agreed 'o_d' . We had weight of numbers holding it in our half. So we had to get some scores. The game has changed away from the congestion of 2015 - 2018. We all new it was going to for so many years now. with the attendance numbers dropping in recent years. We did not heed the warning bells and take some quick running players. We traded our early picks out, for required tall defenders... but we spent like drunken sailors on at least one of them. And we let another tall forward go too cheaply into the deal. When push comes to shove, Melbournefc still blinks too easily.

jSmith would have been our best option, I think, or Lever, if he was fit ? We don't have many other 3rd tall defenders... maybe Tim Smith could have held him.?

Kent had his time, and failed with us... and was time to move him on. He has proven nothing to this point, with the saints.

Why ?

Well when will he try his heart out on the training track, and away from the club during the week when running between training sessions... and with Regard to his diet, and his weight ? When will hew lose weight and get back some agility, and some speed back, and some endurance. He is a defensive liability. And like a ship up forward, trying to maneuver.

He isn't strong enough, for Membrey. It makes you wonder if we are in list management. Our off-field admin cannot be so bad, Re our lack fitness to key personnel. and subsequently onfield match-ups.

He is one of a few who are still transitioning, between VFL and AFL. He was very good last week, when he had assistance from the team... on that small ground. Can't blame him for needing some time to be up to AFL speed, so soon. Its the other defenders, and Mids, we have to look to.

It's not useless... hard contested footy is the basis of the game... a team cannot go without it. But we lack, as others have said for a couple of years now... we lack quality centreline running players. But we also lacked quality tall defenders.. as others have been saying for a couple of years. And we also lack speedy small forward players. But we recruited for that, last draft. Too early to say how we went. Centreline players are our big key need. .

ah, sorry I can't hear sarcasm in text form... partly for being an innocent type... I never look for it, instinctively. That's my nature. Consequently, I don't like sarcastic comedy as well... it offends my nature. ?

Stability... he showed he can coach last year. And the players were listening. But the trouble now is injuries to our elite running players... and poor form because of the changed nature of 2019 AFL footy. Our structures are no longer holding up, as they require ANB and TMC and Viney and Jones, and all the other young midfield brigade, working as one. Viney Jones, TMc, are all playing injured to some degree, and IMO Gawn is not playing as well as last year, getting around the ground. Our half-forwards aren't helping much in defence, and we are stuffed. Maybe the footy gods are looking after us, before we ruin everything, failing at the finish line... because of not getting the talent we require. And everyone can see we need to get the quality running players thru the Mid ground. .

Well, If you change the words "rock" to 'the Hills', and the word "sand" to 'the beach'... then it would be more accurate, S_T. No we didn't... we witnessed the gamestyle come undone. There is nothing wrong with contested footy... and if we go one-on-one, it will be all contested footy. Contested footy IS our brand.

Maybe the Footy Dept watched the 2018 preLim final... over and over again along with the saints loss of 2018... Maybe they waited on Goody's contract until they witnessed how the team was going before they signed off on his mew contract. Imagine what Odds someone would have gotten for Melbourne to finish bottom 5 or 6_ in 2019.... but an insider would need a great solicitor to place the bet... on behalf of said Footy Ddept. What IF... the FD could see the writing on the wall end of last season... knowing what '666'_ would bring with it. We need at least Two top running centreline players at end of 2019... to do anything in 2020. We have the inside players but we're NOT dominant, in there. But we are terrible around the wings, centreline runners. Tracca is as good as 'Jabba the Hutt', when we're defending.

We had the chance today, to play Keilty and Stretch, and Lockhart. They would have given us more run across the mid section... and Keilty could have offered up some mobility up forward... easing pressure on Weide & TMc, who is injured, and TMc could have also moved back to defence more readily, if Keilty had played today.

ogghh... more excuses when we were run off our feet defending. what don't the half forwards have to run and defend ? they just kick goals only... right . When are people going to start to expect from this bloke ? When. He is too slow and sluggish, he does not cover enough kilometers, both ways.

Yep, change of Plans... unless we're tanking, List Managing ? Maybe we should threaten the AFL, that we'll start tanking again, and hold our breath... unless we get the Best Outside midfielder, from GWS ?

My reason being that TMc is obviously injured. He can't seem to run like last year... same with Viney, IMO. As McClure said earlier in the game, Melbourne don't have the running power... we enjoyed last year. Add to this the 666 rule, and now we are slow as well under this rule. Open spaces open up with '666'... and then we are too slow over the ground when the Oppos' are on they're slingshot. We have to change our teams structural balance... more run, more speed. We have No choice anymore, but to play Stretch continually. Sparro will be back in as well, in my books.

This, is our biggest problem I think... and the gamestyle needs tweaking. How much i can't tell, because of injuries, and individuals off form But we certainly Press far too high. And all the Grand final talk over the Off season, has hurt this team & club.

Well, there ya go. the Degoey forward role... I think he will be better from the full forwardline. Looking at the footy coming thru the wings. He can move forward at the ball, to meet it... and then go go back toward goal, with or without the ball... but looking for space if he is without... and pressuring the opposition defence, if/when they are working the ball out of our F50.

Just thinking that Baker would not want to do a Hammy again, in a Praccy match.
