  1. Coniglio no problem offer him plenty. We need top-flite class to aid our coalface players.
  2. Being Melbourne supporters of the past 5 decades, in a sense, might be just a little like how some prisoners of war might have felt ? In that the strong sense of hopelessness , in that there seems nothing that we all can do and that we're at the mercy of our tormentors, and others not in contact, who hold our destiny's in they're hands. Now I now footy is nowhere near being held captive tortured and at high risk of having your life taken from you. But this helplessness is a lot of how I've felt over the decades, as a Demons supporter. It has been, very despairing. And as an 8Yr old kid, I was ambushed in the dark of my driveway, and assaulted by an Ex Prisoner of War. I know what PTSD looks like in its horrible form. So did this mans family, and after them, so did his dog, years howling in pain and grief.
  3. To keep playing NQR players, is to risk turning them chronic injury stats.
  4. I liked it at the time, cause its a new fantastic concept, imv. But I was wrong... I was concerned our seniors weren't in centre. ... and I was concerned about Nev's positioning. He's usually much better than that. ?
  5. HaHa usual for the Liberal Co-Coalition, to mislead and rewrite the narrative of every story they get their minds into. "Children Overboard". ..... And now they are trying to Spin the Darling River catastrophe. .
  6. Where is our training complex the Mcc have set us up with... where is our social club within the Mcg? How have the Mcc aided us in our recruitment dept' ? The Mcc has bludged off our backs, and more recently the other Co tenants. They sent us OFF from training on the Mcg... to Junction Oval, a place that was to small and the cricket club had priority. Out odf spite because Mfc wanted bigger roms for Gym and better social facilities. So they roped of the centre wicket area at first, and then packed us off to St-Kilda. Now there is your UN-Pleasentries from the Mcc... right there.
  7. Kids can play much earlier, if they can find the space and time that suits them. Always has been. More space effectively makes the game feel a little slower for them, compared to the congested flood of last year. They can feel their way more naturally. Back in the 70's, kids like Timmy Watson were playing VFL at 16Yrs of age, The AFL's cocked up timing of changes really stuffed us, as we were building for the game style of the past 8 Years.
  8. totally agree, 'bk_nkd'. Some different coalface with some run. I think is needed We have been butchering the ball so badly from our clearances, its a disgrace. Oli and Brayshaw, some of our worst.
  9. The AFL could have chosen to reduce the interchange bench, by one player every 3 years, until we got back to 2 interchange... and then 2 emergencies/subs. This would have been far more gradual and fair a change... allowing clubs to know exactly where the game was heading.
  10. He needed to hear voices... the voices of his teammates, telling of his situation. "HOT" !!!
  11. I don't think he had time to brace, because his body was half turned. No tucking in really. that's why he was hurt, IMO True 'Wndrs'... but also we need to find where players are up to, Re our list strategy.
  12. Viney didn't know Stack was there, imo... until he turned his head and saw him, I reckon Viney started to turn maybe with the thought that, if he got tackled, he could halve the contest. I reckon Viney didn't consider he might get bumped hard.
  13. Maynard is the Obvious coalface replacement... but I like your idea of putting Tracca in the guts. I would rotate him (tracca) thru the bench... this allows us to be quicker inside our F50. More mobility creates pressure of Oppo's defenders.
  14. WE are, the Most politically correct club, in the AFL. This translates into a very conservative Brand... in Contradiction to the way, 'WE want to Play'. Our roots over North side, influnence our on-field Brand. AND our recruiting decisions, as well We need to be a harder, nastier, 'competitive' Footy club.
  15. THIS... is why we need our own Home ground training facility, and supporters centre. With in-house office/admin. Those Little kids looking at their idols, either with wide eyed adoration for their mentors. OR with saddened little eyes, when things are shizen. Those little eyes and ears help to unlock the inner passion and desire to put in, over & above, in order to make people happy. Our players need to be exposed to these hearts on sleeves, to help them conquer... their fears, and their failures.
  16. And nor will I, 'F56'. Our job is to pass on what it is, we think will help. Our club continually gets ahead of itself. Off-Field, from the stands, and imo, Boards... across the past 50+ years. We get 3/4trs of the way there building a team... and we're all convinced we've arrived already. Premature Exaltation. .
  17. I wonder if he's doing some of that Hot Yoga stretching ? Might be beneficial for him, looking at him. I Wouldn't be surprised if he's a little muscle bound ?
  18. I think it's a goody ? Idea. These 4 days with the players out of the house, apart from rehab'rs... is a good time for the Footy Dept' to get heads together, and revamp what we're doing, on and off-field. Maybe we can settle on some tweaked defencive structures, and maybe where we are heading for the second half on season 2019.
  19. OFF-field culture. We are ALL so easily pleased with little wins. We start to talk ourselves up only to fall back down. We as a club (not the team or list)... talk cheaply, patting ourselves on the back, just for small wins, on things insignificant. This then rubs off on our list... indeed rubs off on the whole club. We are all too easily pleased with ourselves. This is our curse. .
  20. I think, all of us had a thought that 'MAY' would be the finals piece of our puzzle... IMO, this is how we as a Club continually trip ourselves up. When we are accumulating a decent list, we all get overly optimistic, at the drop of a Two-Up coin. Then we go out and put a player who hasn't even played for us... front and centre of our supporters banner. This mind-set sends the wrong message to everyone, including all of us, which in-turn feeds our already oversized optimism... ending up snow-balling. Imo, it's counterproductive, to be Too optimistic for Our Melbourne footy club. We are at our best, when we are underdogs, because that's when we are sharpest... When we feel that we have something to prove.
  21. And, if true, could possibly shine a light on our current workrate, this season. Who were the 're-signees' of last year ???
  22. Hmmn, interesting. I sensed, from some expressions I've seen recently, left me feeling a bit uneasy. They don't look happy campers as a group, for whatever reason.
