  1. I think we can cover Gaffs skills, more than May's. I think Harmes improvement, and Spargo, Fritta, etc, we might have lost some interest in Gaff, which we might have had for him during 2017... Salary cap spent elsewhere, I presume. I'm very happy with how we are recruiting, over the past few years. and still happy, agreeing with all the outs... and Ins. Now we are slowly becoming a hardened tough unit of men... only a couple yet to show they are men... yet.
  2. and bash/crash Preussy. I think his aggression/hurt factor, will be the missing link for our talls... I hope he plays with a bit of mongrel out onto the Mcg... hurt the opposition, leave em bruised and hunched over. Up forward, I don't expect him to dominate the marking, more than any others around, but I hope he can palm the ball away to our smalls advantage. bring it to their areas. .
  3. And that storytelling was very important between follow supporters of any team persuasion... it helped fans connect with one another. A really Aussie way of attending the Footy. bring it on.
  4. I much prefer recruiting May over Gaff, lets say.
  5. They're coming out early. selling fools gold. to sell fools media. . Fugazi.
  6. I don't think there are many Greenies, if any... as home owners in East Melbourne, 'OD'.
  7. Yes LH.. my post wasn't aimed at the current Footy management... and club Management. Which I think is doing a ballsy job, so far. ... might be a postcode.
  8. Not much. Rum and Mushroom, or other vegetarian ice cream, I imagine would do the trick. Point is, he looks wasted. Head on girlfriends lap. In his first preseason with his hometown club. I like Jesse... and feel for him, but this isn't the way forward for him, his club, and his footy career.
  9. We at Melbourne are not so good in turning our young elite recruits into top flight players. . see 'Trapper', and many many others since him. IMO we accord them way too high a profile, in social forums... allowing them to drink their own cool-aid when out in social gatherings, amongst their peer social groups. YET, of our other not so shiny talents... most do very well in their efforts to grow as players, and as people. > see Jonesy. This club has a habit of drowning its teenage elite recruits, 'in-self'.
  10. My comment is about looking to the future development of Austin. I don't think we will play the 2 senior rucks in every AFL match. Austin, I think, will be a 3 Year at least, development. I see him sharing duties in some VFL games with Preussy.
  11. Also, I think If/When at Casey, he will rotate spots with Austin.
  12. Well Hogan wasn't any good when locked in under the long bomb... Jesse needed to roam in space. Preuss will be very good for, 'deeFlea' department. .
  13. Hah, 'the Old camera in the streetlamp trick'... hey 'IT'...
  14. Here is a Footywire page relevant to Weight of players... showing both our rucks at the top. Followed by some Macks and May's... and other surprises as well. looksee https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/tp-melbourne-demons?year=2019&sby=8
  15. WoW. I should have read the whole thread first, before posting. I really hope Jesse will be 'OK', moving forward.
  16. I agree SWYL. I sense something is missing, lacking in his spirit ??? The ciggy's are another clue. ??? imo . It could be, another who hates the big city life... and just wants to be around a camp fire with mates, and a few beers, laughs and good times.
  17. CCCCCulture de formulae to WIN.
  18. We're also victims of being the illegitimate son of the Mcc... so just on child support all our lives, and left out of the Will. Maybe we should all be getting about in flannels. .
  19. I'd love to see the top 10 of the previous season's 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy... up on our masthead. "not in it, not on it, basis." That sorts it out fairly... and would have seen 'Nev' on it sooner. Sooner than Hunt's inclusion, for example. Maybe ahead of watts.
  20. I think Bradtke has to ruck to learn his craft quickly and rest forward accept when Preuss plays at casey. I think Preuss will play at least 50% in the AFL. But not every match, as i reckon we will drop Gawn down on games per season. and on %time on the ball. I think we will manage Gawnus, trying to lengthen his career, whilst managing his loads. If either got injured... max or preussy, then we will be needing dee-bradt to learn early season... as much as he can, to cover this scenario. I would fast track Bradtke for the first 2 months of the VFL season then ease him off playing more time up forward after that. Let him run on the ball early... which is a closer thing to basketball, than being stuck leading from the goal square with some one punching him in the back of head all the time.
  21. Actually, might be worth a try NC... if that were to happen to Nev. I think Nev is our hardest to replace.
  22. https://www.abc.net.au/radio/programs/am/saving-the-sumatran-tiger-from-extinction/10576386 Saving the Sumatran tiger from extinction By Anne Barker on AM The Sumatran tiger is now so rare there are around 400 left in the wild. But conservationists are optimistic they can stave off extinction. A new campaign is enlisting the support of another 'tiger' — the Richmond Football club in Melbourne — to raise awareness in Australia. Play Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume. https://www.abc.net.au/radio/programs/am/saving-the-sumatran-tiger-from-extinction/10576386
  23. You really do not pay much attention to detail, do you... and you cannot see his over-condition for elite AFL... and lack of being 'cut', over most of his exposed body. OK, your right, experience says not to indulge others in argument, who cannot see. So, like you, I won't. .
  24. He looks to have a nice step at speed, to go with his pace of the mark. I hope he works on his hands dexterity... to aid the ball drop. He looks like he maybe helicoptered a couple, close to goal, when rushing.? ... geez he's quick in mind to be ready for the on-comer. good mental planning. I, I, I, I'm .............. .
  25. I was suggesting 'Dawn' up til now. And having just read your post DC, I came up with another, along the lines of 'Dawn'... So... Sparra's > fart = Dawn.... >>> cracka' Dawn... >>> crack'a. .
