  1. We were kicking over Weide's head early games, or we were bombing it without direction, and Weide did not seem to know where the ball was likely to go. I was thinking he was too close to the drop of the ball, before he had read its trajectory. IMO he was starting too high and TMc starting deeper. WHY they did it this way ??? F()@ k ? I wanted Weide to start Deep alongside Hunt in our early games, with or without Preuss... So both could move at the ball... crashing the pack and marking in Weide's case... Or in Hunts case, to lead out from the pocket area at the ball carrier, leading wide toward the flank and wings, and double back the other way, when the ball has passed him, using his speed. I think Weide needs a good sight of the ball and play... especially early season, and to clunk some marks. This is primarily why I wanted him to start deep... and the same with Hunt. See ball, move toward ball.
  2. Yeah, we do it far too regularly, because our midfielders and Maxy IMO haven't been playing well... and we come out of the centre bounce contest under the pump from the get go. Early games this year, we were on top of one-another, winning the contested ball after the centre bounces, and we were simply corralled, and we just overused the footy, until we coughed it up. IMO, its our Midfield that is the Primary breakdown from the start of this season... Including Maxy in the early games, trying to grab the ball out of the air and slamming it on his boot. Which he missed many times, air swing, or cocked it off the side... wasted possessions. right there. Just pluck the ball IF given the chance Maxy... & give off a clean handpass.
  3. There are a few long-term posters... who cannot contain their frustrations of the footy world, and so they dish out the anger on fellow posters in mean & derogatory posts... directed at individuals. And they never seem to be pulled up for it... and score points against their avatars. Some, are protected species around here. It says a lot about those few, who think they are gods gift to footy... and us others are mere posters.
  4. Lever may be ??? But the player we did not get with that other 1st Rnd pick, never will be, for us. I think from memory, it would have been 'Higgins', from my 'wanted list', at least.
  5. Put that Moonboot on Jetta... 'FiTB'. And do just that. MidSeason draft and National drafts. Send Josh Mahoney & May overseas, for May to get really fit in Nevada... and do the same with AVB, to seek out best medical practice for his Heel. Josh Mahoney to seek our best international Sports Injury and Conditioning people available. And while at it, he could take Kelly O'Donnell with him, to look at the best USA sports people available... & Irish Gaelic players that they can find.
  6. Dsperately trying to stay in touch with the pack above us in season 2019. Since the Saints loss this weekend, and the injury to Jetta... I think our seasons strategy, has just changed. in the past 48 hours. I think the penny has dropped... that we cannot do anything Now, Re the ladder position and the 2019 Finals. So I think we are now looking at the mid season draft, and the Trade period & National Drafts... to aid our future, and to heal some List wounds. And IF so, I agree with them. We need more young talent on our List,,, and we need a quick turn around, bringing in a pacey winger or two, Via Trade or Free Agency.
  7. ah, you clearly don't understand what i was saying. People here are expecting a 22Yr old Key Forward with 25 games under his Belt, to hold our forwardline together... Unrealistic. So I tried to draw a comparison to roughly show where Carey was, at approximately that same age. Not even a 23Yr old Wayne Carey would be able to hold our forwardline together at the moment... such is our dysfunction throughout our team. Carey, the most prominent CHF, who you could realistically expect to hold a forwardline together... And he was at a strong club with recent successes, and some mature heads around him, both on and off-field. So Weideman in not a mistake in drafting... he is what we needed. But we also needed others from that draft as well. Grundy would have been an awesome get, if we were able to find a way, to another pick, somewhere after Weides'.
  8. I was comparing their development years... in regard to which young Key Forward could single-handedly, hold a forwardline together. Obviously its impossible to compare Carey's finished career, with Weide's start to his career. He's going to be a good one... IF he maintains direction and strong attitude in his mind.
  9. Scott learnt their deeficiencies from our finals game... and they took immediate steps to rectify their lack of speed. It payed them Immediate dividends.
  10. The team is collectively, too slow. So we cannot cover the spaces opening up around us. Our older players are more exposed. If we start to play youngsters now, I want Lewis out there directing and teaching them. If we stay with our NQR senior players in the team, then Lewis can come out.
  11. LoL !!! I'm glad your here Beez. We need as much Levit'ee as we can muster.
  12. Thats spot on 'PF'. One of the worst decisions I can recall, sending a player back out injured with a groin injury, and making it so much worse in a meaningless practice game
  13. Hopefully that send May overseas, where Preuss went Pre season ... to get some real workload into May, aerobically.
  14. He (Jetta) hasn't been right all season, for some reason. But He would Not have played any games carrying a torn Meniscus. So that must be a New injury, ontop of his other ailments this season.
  15. This has become our Achilles Heal, over the past couple of Years. Gambling with players Health and Fitness issues. Playing them when they are not OK.
  16. That's right, so then they don't sacrifice their future, for the now.
  17. You've made a good point here. In hindsight.
  18. This (our poor start to this season) might yet have a silver lining for us, but not this year on the Ladder. Now Re Jetta being another long out. We have always been torn up by classy small forwards. This now, ( because of our ladder position ) and our unavailability of our better players... gives us the opportunity to try out some kids, of which we have a few small players, who have some speed. Sadly I think this will shorten Garlett's time with us. because he won't play a part in finals, for us. We have to start to look at our future players, now !!! Prior to the mid-season draft. Interestingly... we withdrew many of these kids from our game against the AFL U-18's team this Saturday just gone. I think, a couple will come in on Wednesday. ?
  19. Never ever believe press releases. Take them all with a grain of salt. And especially from Politics.
  20. Lets look overseas, for a top-line Injury and conditioning head. Too look after our knee and shoulder injuries, and our FEET issues especially.
  21. Meniscus injury... 2nd Qtr on Saturday v the Saints.
  22. I got confused in my text sentencing. You can see what i was saying, [ Back a few years prior to that, before Maxy extracted the digit... ] This was the truth and I wrote it at that time. Sure it wasn't correct to say it was Weideman's draft year... which I was aware of, but just wrote out the sentence incorrectly. No, i have lost the plot at all 'Wtm'. but you are acting out of frustration and anger. But, I am struggling with seeing the screen well, and that does hinder my text & grammar occasionally. I should have written it this way >>> "Back a few years prior to that Weideman draft,, before Maxy extracted the digit... I was also keen on Grundy. Who I thought would make an Ideal mobile ruck type.
  23. Yes, get well soon Nev. Ok... this is the start of the time to play some kids, for us, IMO. I'd keep Nev out for the season, following his surgery. Let that meniscus Heal as much as possible. It seems all our older players are really struggling right now. We might need them all firing next season, apart from one or two who won't go around again.
