  1. They'll find a way, they, are horethorn. We cannot get bullied by big clubs, any longer... It's time to stand up and FIGHT,,, teeth and claws ! NOW is the time:... we need all our supporters to dig-in and help, to get us to the upper echelons of AFL. No good diggin in when we are down all the time.... its the time NOW, to really get stuck in.
  2. The Hawks will be in that mix. Not to mention E'dies hat will be in any ring.
  3. ? lets make a wee bit more room, for 2 of em. Payout Lew this year, and hire him as a playing assistant at Casey. One of these boys should stay on at Casey. Sadly Pedo may get caught in this Cap scenario, as well. (Kent)? Offer Gaff a 5Yr contract, ramping up after 2020. I imagine we'd need supporters to help with out of footy career areas, to help their families ? We need Sloane as well. (Tyson)? Offer Sloane 4Yrs, heavy Front ended.
  4. approaching 26Yrs of age this year. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pp-west-coast-eagles--andrew-gaff We need his running power.
  5. I would think that his parents are aging as we all are, and other family moving ahead with their lives. I sense for some reason that Gaff wants to come back east. I think that if we acquired both Gaff and Sloane, these missing links would enable us to fast-track into real contention. Both will aid our transition from the centre bounces, and from our backhalf. I hope the club goes overboard now,,, to get both of these two mature players this year. Sloane could give us 4 good years of leadership and elite midfield play. Tiding us over from Lew and Vince and then Jones... adding to our leaders in the 26-8Yr age bracket. Gaff fits well within our 2nd layer of leaders, in that 24-5 Yr age bracket.
  6. I reckon when Oscar arrives at those players levels, will be the time-frame of our next Silverware arrivals.

Another front runner. If we want to get bejond any front running habits within this club, then we have to cut front runner types from our list,,, as soon as we can. I climbed onto the Garlett bandwagon last year,,, but like with 'wattshisface',,, I'm jumping back off that festival float disappointed again from the downturn in efforts. The standard we look beyond, is the culture we shall receive.
  8. list management is going on bigtime, this year. amongst low clubs.
  9. Yes, we need a Rodney Grinter in our lineup. He was a real bombers type of player, was Grinter. A Sheedy type. Maybe a Goody type as well ?
  10. If TMc or Hogan play high upfield, as far as our back 50Mtr arc, they could assist Re Curnow, cutting off his space. I think Lever goes with Curnow. Our 'Press', and spread, will be a key in this game.
  11. I started to wonder about that after i typed the post, thinking we could go with 2 smalls. Our structures now are so flexible with our key personnel, we can almost have any model structure. We are playing Garletts old team, (he may find form against the blues) Carlton, with the Crows following. So we will be building a structure to be most robust against the Crows, and following matches. The certainty is Viney back, but also maybe on limited game time. This possible brings Bull into the equation. He has recently played midfield and has the size and strength to upset most midfielders. With Bull in the side, rotating thru midfield? and forward,,, he adds another match-up headache for oppositions. cl: Jones, Salem, Hannan hf: Spargo , Hogan, Petracca ff: Fritsch, Bull Smith, TMc... OK i'm having keyboard problems. ps. Its back, keyboard. R: Gawn, Oli, Viney... Int: Harmes, Vince, ANB, Garlett im a bit hazy in the head atmo, so i'll come back to this later, to check it.
  12. I think they want, looking forward for the next month, as much mature experience as we can muster together. So > Viney for Tyson Garlett for Spargo. Bull for Weide.
  13. I wonder, he'll be elsewhere, for the start of 2019 ? We have to trade our way back into 2018, and we also want some free agents. They're not giving them away, these days.
  14. Stretch has not really had a collection of games strung together, to show any real form.
  15. off field admins presentations, are a bit too stuffy. I'm glad the club is running without all that fluff, and stuffiness.
  16. Lol... later to be commuted to life at Carltoon.
  17. Yeah phew, are those old prince park toilets overflowing yet again?
  18. 1933 or 1939_ take your pick. This was the Beginning, of the real ferocity, within the jumper. it all started from here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne_Football_Club#Premiership_record https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_'Checker'_Hughes#Coaching_career It gave birth to the likes of Norm Smith, and Ronald dale B.
  19. I differ h, I hope he has a blinder, from the half back flank.
  20. I reckon Gus is a more intelligent footy player, than Tracca is. Tracca is a bull, and probably hasn't needed to fine tune things as much, in his lifetime.
  21. comeon Blz, he's not the only D's player that's been outa form this season. We need speed on our list, and he has truckloads of tow. He just needs to learn to adapt to our game, and to practice lowering the eyes at training, and make sure he hits his targets there.
  22. I understand why he might question the selection, as last year we came unstuck X 2... As long as they are conservative, (don't you hate that word),,, with his amount of time per Qtr... that's the main thing, IMO. Wwe need him in. But I only want him going about at 85% to 90% intensity, tomorrow! It's the following game I want him Fully-Fit for, and he can go at 95% intensity, in that game against the Crows. Easing into full match fitness by half-season.
  23. Clarko still manipulating the game; now he's recruited the boss, to do his blocking for him. where di all the coaches meetings go for this stuff? or is that a wee bit like the united nations. they can never agree.
  24. ... must have been the vatican tribunal. 10 bloody mary's, and your off.
