  1. He's not showing any signs yet of slowing down, I reckon.
  2. Tim smith had better play well, me thinks.
  3. I am totally optimistic in our team Faulty, but want us all to remain vigilant Re the clubs direction. The Achilles Heal of this club is when we all become cosy. Too comfortable, and we raise our eyes to look further up the road. We start to wander across the bitumen we are traveling on and come unstuck. We are our own nightmare. Too easily satisfied..
  4. SenSational.
  5. I'll pay that one Jack, 2 out of 8 for that one.

Out of form does not restrict a player from Effort. When the ball isn't on a string for you, then go at it harder, and chase harder, tackle harder, to make up for loss of skills. When these go missing (Effort), that is the sign of front runner. Loss of confidence is NO excuse for a drop in effort. It sounds to me your an apologist for your favorite players.
  7. How long have you been around. Being bullied is a comment about not taking on the big challenges. Giving up in the thought processes when imagining challenging the big boys. It is a mental state where Melbourne Boards and Administrators continually allow themselves to sit back down, and shut the F()@# up. It has hurt us over the decades, more than we even obviously know. As far as your comment that we are not Bullied,,, we gave up on the challenge last year Re Lever, and paid the Crows over the odds, to get it done, in haste. A 1st Rnd 2017 pick, a 1st Rnd 2018 pick, and a 2018 4th Rnd pick. We paid too highly. A 2018 1st & 3rd Rnd picks, should have done the job. We have been bullied for decades, by other clubs, and by the AFL. So your assertions of future this and that's, should be taken with a truckload of salt. We need years of Wins off the field,,, to believe in our boards and admins once again. Because our bullied bruises show a different picture of this club over the years. The fact we are still basically homeless, shows we lack courage and endeavor to get things done to our needs,,, when the Pies have virtually shifted into our lounge room,,, from up the road.

He is currently being overtaken, by young players who work hard in all weather.

That is the epitome of a front-runner. When down he goes missing totally, instead of crashing in and busting a gut. When out of form, you do not lose the ability to work harder, even if the ball isn't bouncing for you. This is pure desperation to work your way back into it. front runners give up on the work ethic. see wattshisface.
  10. because we need his skills and his maturity leadership because of the age. His skill sets are both inside and outside, so he gives us just what we lack. He can play starting mid or on the wing with great skill and smarts. He compliments our inside grunt. In around 2 tears time we will have lost a big chunk of maturity and real leadership. Both Lewis and Vince will have gone, and Chunk Jones if not gone, will be on last legs. After that group, we lack some Real leadership until we get to our current 24Yr olds age bracket. So IMO we can afford Sloane, as he would be most likely, only a 4 Yr term, on good money. We can structure it to suit our time-frame. Now Gaff we would likely have for a longer term, and this would compete financially with our other young guns arising, in time-frame for contract money. I want both, and i'm sure a bit of contract wizardry could make that happen. IMO, we lack more than one topshelf running mid. Now if we had Gaff, we may not need ANB? If we had Sloane, we wouldn't need Tyson. The re are other mid type players on the list, who aren't doing much, playing down at Casey.
  11. I can't wait til he plays again, against Richmond. I want to see Rance pushing back with the flight of the ball & bull coming out from the goalsquare. crrrunchy granola.
  12. Nah, think it's, Pedder's no-ble...
  13. I agree Dmia56, he's become a real Team man. matured and does his bit. I think he has another level yet. When he finally hits his zone, he'll tear some team apart.
  14. ... classy, that's Fritz, surely. can't think of many others, I'd call classy. ah, Oli.
  15. They'll find a way, they, are horethorn. We cannot get bullied by big clubs, any longer... It's time to stand up and FIGHT,,, teeth and claws ! NOW is the time:... we need all our supporters to dig-in and help, to get us to the upper echelons of AFL. No good diggin in when we are down all the time.... its the time NOW, to really get stuck in.
  16. The Hawks will be in that mix. Not to mention E'dies hat will be in any ring.
  17. ? lets make a wee bit more room, for 2 of em. Payout Lew this year, and hire him as a playing assistant at Casey. One of these boys should stay on at Casey. Sadly Pedo may get caught in this Cap scenario, as well. (Kent)? Offer Gaff a 5Yr contract, ramping up after 2020. I imagine we'd need supporters to help with out of footy career areas, to help their families ? We need Sloane as well. (Tyson)? Offer Sloane 4Yrs, heavy Front ended.
  18. approaching 26Yrs of age this year. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pp-west-coast-eagles--andrew-gaff We need his running power.
  19. I would think that his parents are aging as we all are, and other family moving ahead with their lives. I sense for some reason that Gaff wants to come back east. I think that if we acquired both Gaff and Sloane, these missing links would enable us to fast-track into real contention. Both will aid our transition from the centre bounces, and from our backhalf. I hope the club goes overboard now,,, to get both of these two mature players this year. Sloane could give us 4 good years of leadership and elite midfield play. Tiding us over from Lew and Vince and then Jones... adding to our leaders in the 26-8Yr age bracket. Gaff fits well within our 2nd layer of leaders, in that 24-5 Yr age bracket.
  20. I reckon when Oscar arrives at those players levels, will be the time-frame of our next Silverware arrivals.

Another front runner. If we want to get bejond any front running habits within this club, then we have to cut front runner types from our list,,, as soon as we can. I climbed onto the Garlett bandwagon last year,,, but like with 'wattshisface',,, I'm jumping back off that festival float disappointed again from the downturn in efforts. The standard we look beyond, is the culture we shall receive.
  22. list management is going on bigtime, this year. amongst low clubs.
  23. Yes, we need a Rodney Grinter in our lineup. He was a real bombers type of player, was Grinter. A Sheedy type. Maybe a Goody type as well ?
  24. If TMc or Hogan play high upfield, as far as our back 50Mtr arc, they could assist Re Curnow, cutting off his space. I think Lever goes with Curnow. Our 'Press', and spread, will be a key in this game.
