  1. Your missing the point CB, the national draft still exists. But the first few top kids get to stay local. Its not like the old zone recruitment area, with no draft. I agree, it was lousy & unbalanced, but in today's schools environment, & the effort parents, teachers,, & clubs put into teaching kids its all very different. It just helps keep up to 3 top kids at home, per year, per club. This would also bring back the interstate clubs academy's back to the field, as they would also be restricted to just 3 free picks, before any bidding started for other academy kids.
  2. I disagree strongly, there is far too much of interstate players wanting to leave to go home. This is bad for supporters who get attached, & it is for the clubs losing these star players. Each club should have an academy of scholarship kids from within their own designated zones which the clubs will develop & nurture. Each club should have 3 pre-draft selections per draft for their choice from their academy group. Father/Sons should be included in this 3 pre-draft selections. After the clubs have nominated their 3 pre-draft selections, any other academy kids should be open to being selected in the national draft on a bidding system, as we have now. This helps supporters, with local Hero's staying home, so the Tribalism returns back to the game. It keeps local Heros's local. And it encourages clubs to interact within their own zones. Bringing back a communal closeness to the AFL's clubs.
  3. If/when we get our academy, we can do likewise. All clubs should have a junior academy from say 16 yr olds +. a schooling scholarship, & taught under elite coaching, but only playing school & Tac cup until say 17yrs minimum, then play VFL from 17yrs, if or when they're ready. But not allowing footy to get in the way of school studies up to Yr 12.

Lloyd is no list management expert P-man. His thinking is just 'inside the box', & that's about it.

Yes, but you don't de-list your 2nd starting ruck, prior to proving his understudy.

It was a nice try Kelly. We should have thought of it earlier in the season.

It sounds a bit like Gary Ablett jnr. Poor choice for captain. And Judd, again, not the best choice for captain. Clubs need Mitchell, Hodge, or Cam Smith types, to lead them.

Yes, thanks Doc. Its also IMO the reason Lamumba is missing in action, since the last Aints game. In the last, or 3rd Qtr, he dropped off his man near the back pocket to run at the ball carrier near the HBF, leaving a 3on1 close to goal. Rawlings was not happy Jan, a shake of the head at Roos said it all, really. Another who struggles with the zone defence. Now a discussion on the rotations caused zone defences & the effects it is having on players careers, young & old, & on clubs in rebuilds abilities to be competative in each game is truly needed. It is ruining the Aussie rules game. Not to mention TV ratings & game attendances.

Dunn is dusted, & for the end of season barbecue chop. Possibly heading North to retire, after some sun & beaches.

I think I would prefer a Dion, to either ! I think Lyndon & Frank will be looking elsewhere at end of 2016? What's changed off field in that timeframe?
