Jack Riewoldt is a [censored] of the highest order!
-
Watching him in the VFL finals last week and this week, he looks quite good. I'm not against getting him for the right price. Could provide a bit of x factor, although he wouldn't be an automatic selection in the best 22.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

1. The only way he would be in our best 22 would be if he was the only player we traded in and we let go of all of Howe, Watts & Grimed.2. As for suspensions the 34 will get. The time served ship has sailed. Good chance they'll get a season at least. -
You make a point, however his lack of an ability to crash packs and weakness with contested marking counts against him. He lacks physical presence.
-
Long term yes. Short term? We have King who we hope will develop into that role, but who can do it now?
-
He's nominated West Coast as his destination of choice.
-
They might both get dropped for Spangher & Schoenmakers. Haha!

What a great night! The Hawks get smashed. Frawley plays a putrid game. Viney, McDonald & Hogan make top 5 in our B&F And most important, the article referencing us to the Melksham trade has been amended to another club! -
Only way Hawks stay in the flag race is if the Swans upset the Dockers tomorrow so Hawthorn don't have to do another WA trip.
-
Would take him over Melksham!
-
Did Bruce just say he's been awful tonight Frawley? Haha. Hawks are cooked ala Bombers 2001 and Lions 2004. Love it!
-
Kicked 3 in the Semi Final last year and 5 in a match this year and he's young. Not sure why so many aren't keen? Dawes can't ruck and Pedersen is nearly 30. We need someone else in this role.

Frawley spuding it up!

Not a fan at all. If true, given it's a weak draft it wouldn't bother me to much as long as it's no more then a 3rd round pick. But personally i don't want any of the Essendon 34. -
This year he's averaged (approx) 10 touches, 4 marks, 4 hitouts, 1.5 tackles and better then a goal a game. As compared to Dawes 12 touches, 4 marks, 3 hitouts, 1.5 tackles and less then a goal a game.Walker's younger, will cost less as far as salary goes and has much higher scope for improvement. Reckon he'd be the perfect foil for Hogan.
-
Watched him closely this year. Can go missing, but he's super competative and a great mark. Has improved a lot over the last two years and is very handy in the ruck. Should be able to get him reasonably cheap, so i'm all for recruiting Josh.
-
Thanks for the service Russian. Got the best out of himselfand was a real servant of the club. If the Catsdo land themselves Danger,S. Selwood & Henderson this off season, i can see them picking up Russian as insurance for a premiership tilt as their ruckmen can never stay on the park.

Sam Grimley is another option we could look at. Kicked 44 goals in the VFL this year, 199cm, capable of crashing packs. Is out of contract at seasons end, so could well pick him up as a delisted free agent?

Just heard from a Carlton supporter mate at work that Casboult is on the way out the door as they're looking at replacing him with Josh Walker who's been mentioned on here a bit, including by me. Personally I'd be more then happy with Casboult. Can take a mark, crash packs and go into the ruck. Lets just hope he doesn't have a set shot at goal! Honestly though, any of: Michael Apeness Levi Casboult Ben Griffiths Josh Walker or Jesse White meet the needs of what we need. Although Jesse White is a distant least prefered option of course. Haven't included Tippett as another poster mentioned, won't be let go given Buddy's issues, or Dixon seeing as he's off to Port Adelaide.
-
Roos has stated previously on Roos' Views that they see Frost as moving into the backline rather then staying in that role he was playing at the start of this year. Another option, but doubt we'd explore it could be Kurt Tippett? Sydney trading Tippett out would allow them back into the trade market which they're after. Would also help them out with their salary cap. As I said, doubt we'd look at it, but is certainly an option to maybe explore?

Combination of options A & C for mine. Have high hopes for Max King, but he's certainly going to take some time. So for me that means Pedersen holds a spot on our list for another year at least and I'd look to trade in one of Josh Walker, Ben Griffiths or Michael Apeness for the now while we wait on King to develop. And if King's a bust hopefully the player we trade in can hold the spot long term. Walker I reckon we could land by trading Watts and getting a late pick back along with Walker. He's got some limitations, but can take a grab, and is really competative. He's come on a bit in the last two years and is out of contract. With the Cats having him, Clark, Stanley, Vardy on their list, he may look for other options. Griffiths & Apeness we may be able to get with our 2nd round pick, although I was hoping to use that pick on another mid through a trade.
-
Heard on the grapevine today that he failed his medical. Not sure if it was with us or another club, but obvious red flag if true.
-
Aaron Hall would be next off the list failing O'Meara or Prestia. Howe and a 4th round pick for Hall & Gorringe would get it done one would think.
-
That pass to Billy Stretch in the final term at Geelong to set up a goal I could have sworn was delivered by Pendles....

With what is predicted as the weakest draft in a decade coming up, what a great idea! That way we can use pick 95 on an unproven kid while we potentially have an injury free Trengove running around at Casey rotating between half forward & midfield getting 25 touches and a couple of goals a game, but if we have no long term injuries isn't able to play seniors until mid year. Meanwhile Pick 95 is struggling to have an impact with Casey's 2's team.
