  1. Wears number 41. On the rookie list, played a game last year and has consistently been in Casey's best.
  2. Talented player. But he's not the gorilla keeper that i think we're really after.
  3. Anyone know when the AFL are likely to announce exactly which date and time we'll play the handbaggers in Geelong over the weekend of 26-28 August? I suspect it will be the Saturday some time, but would like to know sooner rather then later for two reasons; One because it will be Roos last match as a senior coach, so would like to be there for it & Two, my youngest son turns 1 on the 26th, so will be difficult to plan his birthday and making sure i can also get to the football on the same weekend. If anyone knows when it gets announced, that'd be appreciated.
  4. It seems so. Hopefully what's being considered in my above post may help get people's interest in the sport back.
  5. I like the idea of this. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/cricket/icc-keen-to-introduce-two-divisions-in-test-cricket-with-promotion-and-relegation/news-story/2a00386734f3b8f4279fac23019ca636 Ideally I reckon it would be best giving Ireland & Afghanistan test status and having two groups of 6, but I'm sure there's different ways they'll be able to make it work.
  6. BUMP Wonder if we're one of the two teams? Personally think we should look into both if we're not into Hurley (which we should be). http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/collingwood/afl-trades-collingwood-defender-nathan-brown-on-rival-clubs-radars-after-battling-to-win-spot-for-pies/news-story/28cb50653d4efe80d7ffb624088c1775
  7. Scicily. Tom on Gunston & Frost the resting McEvoy or Ceglar.
  8. My main memory of 88' was watching the replay of the semi on VHS and the brawl at the start of the match.
  9. Joel Smith mystery injury of the week. Wouldn't see the point in managing him the week after a bye. 15 Melbourne listed players is a decent turn out.
  10. Very unlucky. Bugg seems to be playing the role Grimes does out at Casey. If Grimes hasn't made the 22 by the end of Round 21, i hope they give him those 2 games. Guy bleeds red & blue and deserves to get to 100.
  11. I wonder if this is Goodwin's call, given Roos comment about needing more experience, yet we see them putting more games into Oscar (who i think will become a player). Move that hurts now, but could be very beneficial going forward.
  12. Two things. 1. Not everyone recovers from illness at the same rate. 2. Casey had a bye last week, so there were several other players that we didn't hear anything about either that weren't named in the 25 last week.
  13. Given Garland's likely injury that i was initially unaware of and a likely suspension to Viney i'd add them to my outs and bring Dunn & Trengove in for them. I'd even guarantee Dunn the next three games, however if he doesn't perform it'd probably be time to try Frost down back and Dunn's papers stamped. That would mark 6 changes with 1 150 game player, 1 100 game player & 2 80-90 game players amongst the inclusions to help our experience as Roos alluded to. FB: Wagner, Dunn, Jetta HB: Michie, T. McDonald, Bugg C: Vince, Trengove, Tyson HF: Petracca, Hogan, Kent FF: Watts, Dawes, Garlett FOLL: Gawn, Oliver, N. Jones INT: Grimes, Harmes, Hunt, Stretch EMERG: Neal-Bullen, Newton, Pedersen
  14. IN: Dawes, Grimes, Michie, Oliver OUT: Kennedy (inj), O. McDonald, Neal-Bullen, Newton (all omit) Trenners to play if Viney gets suspended. Don't think we need to bring in Dunn or Frost as Hawthorn play a smaller forward line. TMac on the resting McEvoy/Ceglar, Garland on Gunston, Wagner on Scicily, Jetta on Rioli, Michie on Breust and Bugg special assignment on Poppy.
  15. Reckon a lot of the criticism is unfounded, notwithstanding he is currently struggling. I reckon he'll be a player. Anyone who saw him Round 1 of the VFL or against Northern Blues could see his abilitty on display. Reads the ball well and repeatedly ran off his opponent. However he seems to lack self confidence at the next level so far. I'd be all for sending him back to VFL level, even for the rest of the year in order for him to get that confidence back in himself. It was well worth the experiment for now given Dunn's form has been on the wane. Hopefully Frost will be the next given an opportunity to cement that key defender spot. I really hope we're all over Hurley at the moment!
  16. North player must have ran 30-35 meters through the middle of the ground without bouncing it then.
  17. Jones Jnr needs to work on his disposal.
  18. That was up there with Rhys Mathieson for haming up a high tackle then by Thomas!
  19. Sounds of the game with Jamie MacMillan. Maybe next time they can get someone who will get a kick.
  20. Fact is more then 30 years after South Melbourne moved North, the vast majority of NSW don't give two hoots about AFL Get rid of the 4 Northern state teams and set up the Hobart Swans & Launceston Lions and lets have teams based where people care about the game.
  21. Essendon followed by North. Two teams i hate the most.
  22. Hope Swans win, but i don't like either team. It's such an open season that anyone who makes the 8 this year could win it IMO.
  23. Was initially thinking this could be the week to rest Oliver again given his corkie and possibly track also with the 6 day break. However this is a crucial game for us given where both teams are on the ladder. An old 8 point game. So i think resting players can be put off till the Hawthorn game instead. IN: Dawes, Jetta, Tyson OUT: O. McDonald, Neal-Bullen, Newton FB: Wagner, Garland, Jetta HB: Vince, T. McDonald, Hunt C: Bugg, N. Jones, Tyson HF: Petracca, Hogan, Kent FF: Watts, Dawes, Garlett FOLL: Gawn, Oliver, Viney INT: Harmes, Kennedy, Michie, Stretch EMERG: Neal-Bullen, Newton, Pedersen Unlucky for Nibbler, Newton & Oscar, but last in, first out.
