  1. Dawes is still important at least until the end of 2017 while Weideman & Hulett develop and until Hogan and Weideman sign their new contracts. Dawes best & worst are much closer together then both Pedersen & Frost.
  2. Watching Gold Coast for the first time this year. They look to be a 1 man forward line.
  3. Pending performances for Casey OUT: Salem (conc), Harmes (cork), Kent (omit), Hunt (omit), Frost (omit) & one of T McDonald/Dunn IN: M. Jones, O. McDonald, Neal-Bullen, Oliver, Stretch, Trengove Michie, Grimes & Garland the emergencies. Salem failed the concussion test and word is Harmes may have a corkie. Hunt could probably go back to Casey to work on some things for a week or so while Kent needs to learn some consistency and Frost needs to learn how to find the ball. As for Tommy Mc & Dunn, you could drop either. Good 3 week period to bring Oscar in anyway given Gold Coast, Bulldogs & Brisbane don't have huge 2nd key forwards.
  4. Had mentioned something similar in the Hogan thread. There certainly are similarities, although any fall for the Dockers wont be as severe as ours was IMO. Reason being that they get a genuine home ground advantage for 10 games a year which always helps you score a few extra wins a year. Plus they have a few more young stars then we did eg Fyfe, Neale, Hill etc. Having said that i think they may struggle for a couple of years at least. Watch Ross trade away their early draft picks!
  5. Dogs aren't a top 4 side. Finals contender yes, top 4 no.
  6. And to think, instead of watching that farce i could have gone out and had dinner at a vegan restaurant!
  7. Is this the worst 1st v 2nd match ever?
  8. Anyone care to guess how Stringer can run the ball over the line while being tackled and it's not deliberate while Luke McDonald spoils a marking contest and gathers the ball as it's going over the line but gets called on it? This new ruling on it is a joke!
  9. North exposing Bulldogs lack of key position players at either end.
  10. Reckon North are getting a tough run. Both Goldstein & Higgins have taken marks that the umpires didn't pay. The Higgins one has probably cost them a goal.
  11. They're the worst those interviews aren't they! Next thing you know they'll start interviewing players while they're lining up for goal.
  12. Shocking deliberate call against Thompson before!
  13. Did anyone watch the openning on channel 7? The commentators getting title shots like their starring in some Hollywood blockbuster! We don't give a 5hit about the commentators, just show us the footy!!!!
  14. I'm intrigued by tonight's match. Given the Bulldog's injuries, i'm not yet convinced that they can cover the absentees. Yes they've played well, and you can only defeat the opposition in front of you. But the only teams they've beaten are Carlton, St Kilda, Brisbane (all 1-4) and Fremantle (0-5). Yes they ran Hawthorn close, but so did St Kilda. Tonight should give a good indication of where they're at. I actually hope they win. Can't stand the poos!
  15. Not the one who mentioned Mitch Clark. See below.
  16. Freo are in a similar boat to where we were early in 2007. Went into the season thinking that at worst we were in the finals mix and then it all went horribly wrong after 1/4 time Round 1. Freo are in a little better position in that they still have some good young players like Fyfe, Neale & Bennell (although he could be a cancer). But like us in 2007, they wont be able to fully start their rebuild until the end of the year. Makes for a long season!
  17. My concern with Spencer is that he gets injured all the time. Did his knee in 2011 (i think it was) Missed most of 2014 after playing a few games early (remember him rag dolling Yarran in his last match that year) And his foot at the start of this year. I like what he brings to the squad and hope he can get some continuity in his footy for the remainder of the year. Just seems to be one of those players that whenever it looks like he's about to come into some really good form he gets injured or suspended. Although i expect he will get a new contract at seasons end, i don't think it's a given yet depending on what ruckman are on the market.
  18. Has the potential to take Pedersen's spot and rotate between FF & CHF with Hogan. It would mean that Frost becomes 2nd ruck and we play him as a utility with stints down back and on the wing. This would require Dawes to play some great footy at VFL level first however.
  19. I see Matt Jones has failed to get up from his general soreness also.
  20. Want him to stay. Think he will. Why go to Freo, they could have no spine within 12 months when/if Pavlich, Sandilands, Dawson and Johnson all join McPharlin in retirement....
  21. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-28/richmond-list-good-enough-to-win-a-flag-says-brett-deledio Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Seriously delusional!
  22. All good mate. I'm a fan of Viv myself and was wrapped when we got him from Freo. The fact we have players like Viv, Trengove, Petracca, Stretch & Neal-Bullen as depth is certainly a good problem to have.
  23. I don't advertise myself as being any type of prophet or knowing exactly what the coaching group are looking for. All I commented on were my observations on Saturday Night. As I said, I didn't say he was bad, but for me he didn't impose himself on the game to the extent Trengove or even Petracca did who stood out like a sore thumb when he got the pill. If the coaching staff were happy with Viv's game then that's a good thing and I wish him well at breaking into the seniors. But for me he's been solid without being great and I thought he was better Round 1 then he was Round 3, but that's just my opinion.
