WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
leucopogon replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Stinking it up in the GF, he looks a Melbourne player already. -
I'd love to know our stats on handballs to feet, we'd be number one by a mile. Also handball receives by a stationary receiver would be right up there. Speed of players exiting a congested area would surely be 18th. I'd love to know the average distance of attempted pass (hand or foot) that is turned over directly to the opposition. Call it the butcher stat. I'm sure we'd be right up there, or should I say down there? Number of players committing to tackle a single opposition player would again be enlightening. We usually send at least two or three due to a lack of trust in our team mate's ability to get the job done. Come on Champion Data, think outside the box.

I'm not aware of any regulations around that. I think it's a case of you go to the AFL NGA zone that your junior footy club is aligned to. I don't think there are any rules around having to play for your local club. It seems that there could be plenty of wiggle room for AFL clubs to game the system. Would be happy to be told this is not the case however, this is the AFL we're talking about.
-
No, he's only 11. Long way to go yet, he's only just had his first taste of the Freo NGA this year, a 4 session clinic run over 4 weeks by Tendai Mzungu. There were a heap of kids there including those with a parent born in the UK, not sure how multicultural it is really. My son is going to have to develop into one of these gun small forwards we're crying out for on Demonland, because I'm 177 cm and his mum is about 150 cm!
-
Rules are if one of your parents was born overseas then you're eligible for a NGA spot. My son who has an Anglo name is eligible for the Fremantle NGA because mum was born in Colombia.

Friend at work concurs Ethan, claims to know someone connected to the Dockers and the word is he has been looking at Real Estate in Perth.

I would much rather watch paint dry than subject myself to that farce ever again. The only thing missing was a masked man coming onto the field with a steel chair.
-
It was undoubtedly mine as well. I was at the ground and never have I roared " Ball!!!" with quite that ferocity.

Will you renew your membership in 2020?
leucopogon replied to Ethan Tremblay's topic in Melbourne Demons
I will not automatically renew this October. I'll wait until the first month of the 2020 season. If it's a repeat of this year, I'm done. -
And he spends the majority of the year on the treatment table. Perfect
-
Hes' dead right, it's that mindset that killed us dead this season, "We almost made a GF, it's all just gonna happen automatically for us next season". Weak as [censored] this club, I've got no faith at all in this list and especially the coaches.
-
Why the hell would the kids continually bomb it in then? It's either the stupid game plan or the players are just plain lacking intelligence, probably both.
-
Based on tonight's performance, I can easily see a 3 figure loss next week.
-
Another thing that killed us is the extended goal square kick in rule. The number of times Sydney got it past the wing was staggering, on the other hand we can't seem to get it beyond 60m. This club is looking like it's on death row, next year is make or break and I have zero faith in this group of leaderless half-wits.
-
18th next year. The Lever and May trades have probably broken our list completely, two of the highest paid players spend more time injured than actually playing football. Invest in decent development coaches and rebuild through the draft. Paying overs to attract players gas failed us badly. Hope they don't make the same mistake this year.
-
Nathan Jones is A grade at butchering the ball. Not a captain's a-hole.
-
Jones played abyssmaly, Viney not much better. Jones looks like he's playing on borrowed time. Shocking leaders, the both of them. I'd give the captaincy to Harmes before either of those two but Max is the obvious choice. I don't think this list has the wherewithal to bounce back from this season. They all look timid, unskilled, slow and lacking in smarts. Confidence is in tatters. Bottom 4 again next year, window shut.
-
stage 2 and desperate to get to the I don't give a F stage.
-
Defenders, play on your man, forwards play in front, mids help out in defence and build a wall at half forward when we get it inside F50. That's my under 11s game plan. Worth a shot?
-
That's me done, not renewing next season.
-
All those games gifted to Oscar the last couple of years in the name of development, and this is how he repays us.
-
The more I watch us this year, the more I think that it's not the injuries and the interrupted pre-seasons, or the 6-6-6 that has caught us out. It's the lack of having a runner out there the whole time. The collective footy IQ of this team is about Auskick level and without an onfield coach (ie. Runner) we're literally clueless out there. We are a joke.
-
Sure would have liked Cam Pedersen on the list this year. Stupid decision to delist him.
