  1. simple, its rigged
  2. I'll never forget his chase down tackle of Petrucelli over here in the west. The Eagles so-called speedster chose the wrong bloke to take on and ended up embarrased with his jumper torn to shreds. I've never screamed ball as loudly and felt so vindicated when it was awarded. These days I'm sure it would have been paid a free kick against Frosty for a dangerous tackle. Enjoy: postscript: I forgot about the missed 15 m pass after this play...truly encapsulates the enigma that is Frosty.
  3. We revert to type: Bottom 4, player exodus at season's end and full rebuild, it's the Melbourne way.
  4. Used to love the Petracca Parmy...much too salty these days.
  5. Don't worry, my weekends are spent playing Uber driver for my two kids to their sports (junior footy). I'll need to wait a few more years yet before I can have a free weekend during the winter.
  6. This incident is Darcy Moore's fault completely and utterly. He decided to go to ground in a 50/50 contest in which both players were contesting a loose ground ball, thus causing the contact to be high. This is no different to a player ducking his head in a tackle to attempt to con an umpire into awarding a free kick. Furthermore, the sliding in action should clearly have been paid as a free kick to Kozzie for contact below the knees. What Moore did was the epitome of an illegal below the knee contact action, which was rightly outlawed all those years ago to prevent horrific lower leg injuries from occuring. Kozzie is lucky he didn't have his ankles snapped. If Kozzie doesn't get exonerated for this, that'll be the final straw for my interest in AFL.
  7. Yeah it was a nice touch. Sucks to hear him mention ANB on his way out the door. Irreplaceable in my book.
  8. You're taking the proverbial urine surely? Our team playing a line in the sand game? We'd probably rather punch slap each other than the opposition.
  9. Billings & Fritsch - butter (at room temperature) is harder
  10. ....off a sheer cliff leading into a craggy abyss" come on Simon, you forgot to finish the quote.
  11. Kozzi is a good player, but the others are all bog average. Rivers needs to wear gloves or something, cause he is a fumble king with zero composure.
  12. This is almost the end of the line for me and the MFC/AFL. My motivation and interest are at an all time low. I just googled how to cancel my membership FFS! That's how I'm feeling right now. Hearing 10s of thousands of supporters cheering Maynard just doesn't sit well with me. Watching our blokes put in the most disgraceful efforts in four games now (Bris, WCE, Freo, Pies), not to mention the two straight sets exits of 22 and 23. It's broken me. How quickly have we gone from dominating force to irrelevant? It truly is mind boggling.
  13. I hear there's a good undersized back flanker available in the top 10 this draft. We should pounce.
  14. don't fret 'landers Billings will save the day
  15. I revise my earlier prediction, pies by 10 15 goals.
  16. Don't share your optimism Binman. Wheels are off for mine. Can't see us kicking a winning score. Pies by 10 goals.
  17. But what would you consider our best this season? Port Adelaide? Geelong? Both games we probably should have lost if not for inaccuracy by the oppo. St K and Richmond wins were rubbish. Hawthorn didn't even turn up to play, didn't watch the Bulldogs game so can't comment. I would argue that we haven't even gotten anywhere near to seeing what our best looks like let alone know whether its good enough. If we have seen our best, then god help us, we are so far off the pace its just sad. The list is completely unbalanced now with the decline of Clarry and Viney and the loss of Gus and all of our depth. Borderline list management incompetence that we haven't drafted any genuine mids since Sparrow (and he's not even a mid). Even last year we went for a winger and a flanker with our two 1st rounders. Talk about shooting ourselves in the foot.
  18. This game is gonna be a slaughter. Pies by 10+ goals. The WCE game was the beginning of the end for this list, yesterday's game was confirmation. The family team, the nice guys, the soft coorks. That's our DNA I'm embarrased to admit.
  19. Was at the game. Horrible to watch it live. Eagles were superior in all aspects. Once we lost Lever, the defence never got organised and the midfield didn't give a yelp except for a short burst in the 2nd quarter and another 10 or so minutes in the 3rd. Petracca, Oliver and Viney is not a functional midfield in 2024... I hate to say. Jason Taylor and team, despite their numerous runs on the board have put our list in a precarious position indeed. We have no midfield depth and no up and comers that are going to compete with the next gen mids like Reid, Horne-Francis, Daicos, etc. Hats off to Nibbler who is punching above his weight in there. The loss of Gus was massive to our list. Gawn battled manfully, as he always does but gee whiz his connection with our midfielders is seriously lacking. Petty rucked to advantage far more effectively than Gawn did last night. Our forward line is a rabble. Not sure why they are persisting with Petty up forward. Has the yips something chronic and just looks bereft of confidence. I'd swap him and TMac around. Put Plugga back up forward, he's moving better and he's a decent marker and much better shot at goal than everyone on the list except for probably Fritta. I'm calling McAdam a bust. Sorry, unfit, uncompetitive and poor decision maker. Break glass in case of emergency only. The sooner Melksham is back in the team the better. While we're at it, Billings can seriously eff off. What a joke of a player. I can't believe the saints drafted him before Bontempelli, and I can't believe we got him on our list at the expense of players like James Jordon and James Harmes. Criminal list management. Pickett our only player with genuine pace and evasive skills. He's a pleasure to watch, we need two more pacy players in his mould. Rivers - Somebody in this or another thread described him as the new mid-sized Frosty. Spot on, can do amazing things, but then in the blink of an eye make calamitous errors. How frustrating. Windsor is a keeper but lowered his colours last night. Eagles pressure in general was off the charts and they get the ball moving out of the contest by hand extremely well. Eagles should have won this game by 10 goals plus, and would have except for inaccuracy in the first half and then the umpires keeping us in it during the 3rd quarter. Jake Waterman is a freak, I'd be making a big offer to get him on our list, exactly what we need. Bailey Williams was also very impressive. Halved the ruck battle and seriously tested Gawny with his mobility and athleticism. Would love to have him as understudy to Gawn. I'd be trading out Petty for a late first rounder. We need new blood in this team, midfield bulls ready to go to take over from Oliver, Viney and Petracca. The window is pretty well closed for us now and its time for a mini rebuild. Edit: Oh and yes Harley Reid is a phenomonal talent. He will dominate the AFL for the next decade, and the only thing that can possibly prevent this is injury. My god he's a crowd lifter. He embarrased us.
  20. Woey Jnr. and bring in Tomlinson as the sub
  21. Unfortunately there is no way Kozzie will get downgraded. Watch again the slow-mo and you'll see that he could have avoided contact with Soligo's head if he had just kept his arms up to smother instead of dropping the arm into a brace position. Not only did he brace for impact but he also lifted the eblow slightly as he contacted Soligo's head which makes it look even worse. Get the stupid [censored] out of your game Kozzie!
  22. Serious Toumpas/Weideman vibes with this pick. Not impressed.
  23. This guy can't kick, will fit in perfectly.
  24. Brian Royal? Too soon?
