Where is the reference to money on the side? COuldn't see it.
-
How is it draft tampering more than Luke Ball for example? The contract signed between Tippet and Adelaide states that it contains everything between them. A side deal won't be worth the paper its written on - its likely not a contract. BUt the AFL are right on to it so we don't need to worry. all will be sorted out

The Wiz kicked the winning goal against us I believe.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CAMERON PEDERSEN
jnrmac replied to Hannibal's topic in Melbourne Demons
You can only trade the pick number you have. AT this point we don't have a free 2nd rounder because we have committed it via F/S. We only have 3rd/4th rounder to give. So it's their choice to take it if we offer pick 49. Given they got rid of McIntosh for pick 39 I reckon 49 is overs but maybe they are trying to appease their supporters. No doubt some clubs are playing the PR game. -
Won't comment on the merits or otherwise of the 'rumour' but there are hundreds of talented kids who play footy that don't make it for whatever reason. And interestingly lots who don't have the 'natural ability' but rather a fierce desire such, as a Magner. A lot of juniors are superstars at the lower level but get to the big league and don't cut it because they have never had to work hard before - particularly on their defensive skills. Most gun kids play in the midfield or forward line so defensive skills are not usually required until they get to senior footy, I hope the Gys makes it. Not only to stick it up McLean but I think he has a ball getting ability that we could use.....

Errr " available evidence"??? That would be zero then. But if you mean innuendo and speculation then he is a goner.

Was better value as a gun fwd than taking cheap h'balls from Jamar and dinking them 15m. Drops his rag too easily and doesn't appear to have the pace anymore sadly..

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRIS DAWES
jnrmac replied to Norm Smith's Curse's topic in Melbourne Demons
Careful with the "key forward" quote. Dawes has kicked 5, 5 16, 27 and 30 goals. Dunn has kicked 6. 8, 26, 16 and 9 Bate has kicked 8,19,13, 27, 19, 4 and 8 He ain't the messiah and isn't a strong mark overhead (averages 4.9 against Bate 5.4 and Dunn 4.3) Having said that I think he will be handy because he seems to me more competitive than Bate or Dunn. -
Yeah we blew it. Brad Hill from Hawthorn. Gun......

Yep we are always looking at a game plan from 2-3 yrs ago...... -
Saw him shut down Deledio AND kick 5 goals himself against Richmond a couple of years back. I know its sounds a bit like Cale beating Goodes in one game but he is a keeper for mine. Will never be the best player but could/should be a valuable member of the team. Virtually same size as Pederson........

At least the feeling is mutual

I think its ridiculous to speculate on goal kicking. Dawes for example never kicked more than 30 in a season at The Filth, Its a big leap to think he can kick a lot more with us. His 5 years were 5, 5, 16, 30, 27 goals. Pederson would even be lower I imagine. -
Apparently no. Billy Stretch the best candidate.
-
Keeper for mine. Altho the story about Viney taking him on for being late to training when he was caretaker coach must mean there is something the FD don't like about him.

So we are heading back to the Jeff White Jolly scenario where Jolly got 8mins game time each match?? Seriously though I do agree a better round the ground player is necessary. In part because Jamar is still so ineffective around the ground. That's really the big problem as I see it. I like Jamar but we need to get a lot more out of him. Pederson at 193cm though is 1cm taller than Frawley, Morton, Dunn and Bate. Hardly ruck material.... I still prefer Martin but the real need is for Gawn to stand up... -

Nor the number 2 or 3 role if his form at Richmond was anything to go by ha hah..... -
No comments? Yep, says it all really. Former AA that has had a few injuries but has failed to capture anything near the AA form. Will the new ruck rule kill his chances of recapturing AA form? Will he benefit from Beemer going? Will he get more than 4 kicks a game or 2 marks? Is he over-rated? Me thinks he is and needs a few more strings to his bow. But after 8/9 seasons it is highly doubtful he can increase his fitness, mobility or damage around the fwd line.

So, the latest is that Pick 49 which we got as comp for Rivers is not enough to secure Pederson and that we will have to 'do better' as my teachers were always telling me. How is it that Norf got rid of McIntosh for pick 39 and yet a player who can't get a game is more deserving of a better pick than 49? Trade week is mad. -
At the start of 2012 he was recruited as a role player - specifically to take the gorilla fwds but also to pinch hit in the ruck & fwd line. .
-
Fat four year contract. Won Bluey in 2009 and has been next to useless the following 3 seasons. Yes he has had some injuries but form prior to being injured, particularly in 2011, was abysmal. We have persevered with him. That's what he owes us. Re the Mifsud episode its clear he said something to Mifsud. Not calling him a liar nor suggesting what was in the media was correct but its clear he hasn't been happy for some time and particularly with the new training regime. A contract is a two way street. He has not fulfilled his part of the bargain. I recall the game against Norf at Etihad where his body language and efforts were well below what is expected of a player of his calibre. His best was sublime but we haven't seen that for 3 seasons. The jury is well and truly out on whether he can recapture some of that form. My bet is that he can't. I hope he proves me wrong.

We didn't with Troy Broadbridge
-
HIghlights package of pederson looks good - solid body, can mark, can ruck, good thinker, can run and can kick. Good cheap pick up if we get him.
-
The Burgatron must be on holidays... No one to cover him,,

Given you live at Mt Buller, love the snow and are a member of the Melbourne CLub (according to your profile) I thought you would have fitted his demographic perfectly. Awks.
