An old political saying is that you don't ever have an inquiry unless you know the outcome beforehand. The AFL would have had an idea of the outcome before it started. They don't want a can of worms or to embarrass their CEO form previous comments and stance.

As for his 'pre-seasons' and your excuse for his lack of consistent form he has played over the past 8 years the following: 17 Games 19 Games 15 17 18 16 17 16 3 Yeah poor bloke hasn't had a chance to string meaningful games together. If only he stay injury free in the pre-season he will be a superstar. Dream on.

Stop making pathetic excuses for Col. He's had 8 years and teased us with his talent. Never made it inside the top 5 in the B& F. No second efforts. Can't get his head right. I've given up waiting for him to explode. I hope it happens but I am not wasting any energy on it.

I think the fact that careers are really short has a big say. They don't want to let it go because they know they can never be there again... Money might be a factor in a small number of cases altho it is fair to say a lot of players have no idea what they are going to do post career. Its probably a bit scary because footy is al they have known..
