I would like to know why our fitness was so bad and why the current board allowed it to happen. They will say 'we have the right people in place now' but that's what they said when Bohdan B was running the show. What benchmarks and monitoring have they got in place to demonstrate that we will never be put in that position again??

I don't think thats right, I think he has a 6 week annual vacation clause in his contract and has approval to go mid year. Clearly it coincided with the Olympics in 2012 where he was a guest of Carlton Board member Ahmed Fahour. No conflict there.....

I haven't been to a lot of training but it appears we are doing much more match simulations at a high intensity than we have in previous years. I seem to recall we hardly picked up a footy until mid to late January... Can anyone confirm that at all?? If true I'd have to say I am stoked. We always seem to enter a season with no momentum, poor skills and lack of fitness. Going by the reports its a significant improvement from years gone by... Hopefully its all about to change..

There is not even a definition of 'tanking' or 'list management' or 'bottoming out' or 'resting players' that people seem to be able to agree on. Let alone no definitive rule to be broken. Lance has been burned big time while the others that have won and placed in the last decade have got off basically scott free. Its a witch hunt of the first order. 7 guys rode in the TDF in 2012 who confessed to cheating and were given 6 month suspensions (to be served in the off season no less!!) Lance is the biggest fish in the pond so perhaps thats why the treatment. Contador won 3 times and has had one win taken from him. Doesn't seem quite right. Melbourne ain't the biggest fish in the AFL pond. yet we are the ones being targetted by, it seems, all and sundry. Also doesn't seem right. I'll wait till this thing is resolved but the way it has gone to date is a disgrace from the media and the AFL If they have really started this can of worms on the say so of numnuts McLean they are a sicker bunch of administrators than I thought. If on the other hand they are investigating because CW presented them with some new 'evidence' then I can see why they might wish to see this thing done thoroughly so they can eventually consign it to the bin. It has however gone out of control and one thing the AFL loves is control. The next few weeks will be very interesting.

the club has to do a range of marketing initiatives as outlined above in order to satisfy sponsors supporters and grow their brand in a competeive market. this is made incredibly more difficult when on and off field trou les are so bad. the Andrews report highlights the joke in all of this and that is the players responsibily and performance. our club 'leaders' have performed abysmally in the past 3 yrs. from training habits to on field accountability. truly disgraceful. for them to stating their unease withe operations of the club shows that the lunatics were runni g the asylum. thank God for Neeld. dont know whether he can coach or not but his ruthlessness about player expectations and elite habits isa breath of fresh air and desperately needed by our club. we wont die wondering under him and i am thrilled we appear to be finally developing a work ethic that is what we expect of professional athletes.

Someone has spoken to Caroline Wilson and I think she has spoken to the AFL saying what are you going to do about this. It has to be the case. They wouldn't launch an investigation on the back of numnuts McLean. Thats why they are asking all and sundry at the Dees about who said what and when etc. Nothing else makes sense.
