Isn't that a river in Egypt ??
-
What for? We haven't done anything and there is no evidence of any wrongdoing. Do you sleep with the lights on?
-
If Jordie could kick he'd be a gun. Kicking is a big problem but he's not alone. No penetration, little accuracy, no damage.
-
Probably right....In fairness it is hard when your head is up your clacker...
-
The fact people are still trying to define tanking is proof enough that it doesn't exist.
-
Wasn't so long ago Mathew Lloyd was using the Dees as an argument on footy club spending saying the poor old Dees didn't even have GPS units.. Hey Mat....get (^&%$##(^*__ed!!!!!

This....gold!

Welcome and thanks for the heads up.

It probably is a bit of a broken record for sure but in the context of this thread it is about players who don't perform in the Bluey. Col is one of those. TJ was another. I don't think that is twisting. I thought it fair enough. And Morton, well the proof of the pudding is the pudding as they say..... And in the end I am agreeing with the OP. Those players that don't score well in the Bluey are clearly not performing to their coaches expectations. Emma Quayle's article showed us how little we know of the inner workings of the club. The coaches live and breathe their players performance every day. Col's results in the Bluey are a fair reflection of Col's performance unlike some of the sycophantic 'he is gonna be a champion one day if he only he could have a pre-season' type post...

Pre Season Draft - 11th December, 2012
jnrmac replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
One spot for an inside mid?? You must be kidding, Tell that to Swan, Beams, Ball etc... -
Surprise surprise. The club awards more votes to the players that do their jobs. Fancy that. That should make Sylvia very nervous given he has NEVER finished inside the top 5 in a B&F in 8 years..... Trapper was similar 2 top 10 results in 10 years!! A first and third. The Blight story about looking at players who consistently perform poorly when team's get beaten is still the best gauge I reckon...

DOn't we have an altitude room at at the club? Cycling in an altitude room would give similar benefits I imagine.

Great insight to how much analysis is done. The footy dept know these guys inside and out. Most if us here are just guessing and reflecting on what we see game day without knowing their roles on the day. It feels like we are finally in safe hands altho still want to see it translated onto the field in a real battle.

We didn't tank. Repeat 10 times please. Tanking is throwing games. We didn't do that and no one can prove it.
-
I hope they don't all lose 6-10kgs. That would be a disaster for Watts in particular. But also Fitz, Gawn etc.... That's what tends to happen in the high heat... Just sayin...
-
I hear ya. It just doesn't 'prove' anything though. I could point to 100 weird positional changes. There was no instruction to deliberately lose games. Case closed.

I was there and saw every minute of it. There is no way the players were doing anything but trying to win. We had 3 players injured on the bench. Player experimentation is fine and not unusual particularly when you have a young team and are gifting them games. Dimwit even called us to congratulate us on our experimentation telling is to hold the line against the critics. I have even seen the Morton on Goodes move criticised yet nowhere have IU seen written that Morton killed Goodes that day. Its all selective bulltish.

KB actually stuck up for Melbourne and said to the effect of: " Greg, I can't agree with your crusade against Melbourne. You are not thinking clearly on it" All I heard....
-
If the Dees were tanking in 2009 then this pre-supposes: a) we were good enough 'manipulate' a result (hey guys lets not try too hard today we don't want to win); and, B) that in 2010, 2011 and 2012 we would all of a sudden win lots of games because we were 'trying' Neither happened. Critics ignore one thing. We were a shiite football team. We were soft and frankly pretty useless. We have beaten only 2 Vic teams since 2007!!! Thats what the PP was for. To assist crap footy teams to 'get back on their feet'. In the history of the PP only 2 teams have ever won 5 games in a year - both teams were Melbourne (2003, 2007) - to deny themselves a PP. In other words whenever a PP has been a possibility EVERY other team has secured a PP. We have been 'denied' 2 PPicks. I will really enjoy our climb back up the ladder. Let's hope we all have long memories about those who were kicking us while we are down. There are plenty of them.

Brett Clothier is the AFL investigator

Dimwit congratulated the club on sticking to its guns re list experimentation. Its all about the CC comments....

9 yrs is long enough. Has done a reasonable job in a pressure cooker environment. Time for someone else to come in and fix up a few of the glaring issues such as the tribunal and the fixture...

Mitch played alongside JBrown. He wasn't their first choice forward. He spent time in the ruck and did very well particularly in I think 2010. For us he has been a lead forward. The rigours of ruckwork mean that we are probably better off playing him solely up fwd. But the footy dept will no doubt sort it out.

THE WILSON FILE - the arrogance at the heart of the innuendo
jnrmac replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
No silly. They are talking about the game that we deliberately forfeited. You know, the one where we were ahead at the final siren?? Do I have to spell it out.... -
No idea.
