The Inquistion continues until at least February ...

Disagree. They have already tried that and it didn't work. Take as long as they like so there can be no questions about stones left unturned. End of story. -
I will be wrapt if CLark can get back to fitness and play a good season. Looking fwd to see Neeld's competitive new recruits attack the game. Want to see us playing like a team. With good comraderie, commitment and high expectations. Healthy competition for spots with reward for effort.

Its exactly what Fevola and Liberatore have done. Result - nothing. And McLean said specifically the players were not told to lose. He said it was a vibe. FMD. I keep going back to that post about a Few Good Men with Jack Nicholson - " PLease tell me AFL that you have something more than numbnuts McLean and a cheap aside by Chris Connolly. -

Just shows how brutal the whole drafting thing is. People's lives and not knowing which side of the country they are going to be living for the next 2 years. And there the lucky ones that get drafted!!

I think Howe could get a guernsey. He appears to be a standout in the training reports.. Frawley is a cert and Neeld loves Garland so my guess is they stay. Jones is a lock in as are Grims and Trenners. Clarke and Dawes might be the next ones..

Cue "oh but he's got so much talent....." Not worth a bean if you dont have commitment and dedication.

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/bulldogs-living-high-life-staying-at-home-20121211-2b7th.html For those interested there is an interesting article on the Dogs training at Altitude at Victoria University. I have been on a tour of the facility and its very sophisticated and well equipped. Some of the earlier questions in this thread about the effects of altitude were answered for me. An ideal altitude (low oxygen and/or increased Nitrogen) is around 2500m. The lower oxygen increases the red blood cell count which in turn allows the blood to carry more oxygen and therefore have better endurance. The paradox is that if you have lower oxygen for too long your conditioning can suffer hence the Altitude Hotel experience where you can build red blood cells by living and sleeping in an Altitude room but train at normal level (Live high train low). The effects can be boosted every few months by repeating the exercise. Carrying higher oxygen allows the body to train at higher loads and build a bigger fitness base. That increased fitness base WILL carry a player well into the season and this is where the benefit largely stands. The Vic Uni facility allows 16 players to sleep at a time in four rooms plus a living room with lots of DVDs , XBox's etc. They spend a few weeks living in there. As well they have other rooms where they can do cycling or running sessions. They looked like lab rats when I went through! With heat training such as the Dees are doing its more about conditioning the body and working with a higher body core temperature. Any weight lost is largely fluid and can be replaced readily but the fitness gained conditions the body to work effectively when the core body temperature is increased. This could be in a game in Melbourne or clearly when we play Darwin or Perth. The GPS trackers have become so sophisticated now that they can tell when a player is working effectively or if their performance has 'fallen off a cliff' - time to rotate to the bench or get subbed. The ability to monitor individual players pre-season gives a great benchmark for real game situations. It is really quite mind blowing how much information the sport science people have to deal with. They know loads, recovery times, ideal effort/rest times, time covered running/jogging/resting etc. Overall it was very impressive.

This is the crux. We clearly haven't been able to develop it so we have brought in experience. Hopefully going fwd we will be able to develop our own...

It's totally her fault. Let's see some evidence?? She doesn't have any. The "Vault"?? Are you kidding me? Our weekly meeting room?? Now its the Vault?? And past players: Brock numnuts McLean?? - on the record saying "we were never told to lose" "It was a vibe" - welcome Denis Denuto from the Castle. The Richmond game?? Well the facts say we were ahead after the siren. WHat else have you got Caro?? It is total speculation on her behalf and she has no evidence whatsoever to back it up. If she did she would print it. Anyone can do that - its not what a journalist does though. For you to say she is 'reporting on it' is a fabrication. She re-started the speculation. On what?? Nice trolling BTW -

What?? When?? How?? OK Brain fade. Didn't realise the rookie draft was on this morning.... -
Don't think so. Just people pointing out his main deficiency. Work ethic and commitment are outstanding.

Wasn't a 'shocker' as such but chipped it like a nine iron. Too much ball flight.

They were clearly discussing one of our heavy losses last year. Brought a smirk to his face.....

A non-story. Headline should have read "AFL COmmission next meets in February" Full stop. All of the other crap is simply filling space. IGNORE. -

I just re-read this and liked it even better the second time!! -
His endeavour is unquestioned. I look fwd to the time when Jordie struggles to get a game because everyone else tackles like him and throws themselves at opposition players.

Judd steps down from Captaincy AND Leadership group...
jnrmac replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Judd has always been about Judd. He is not a leaders bootlace. Great player unquestionably but not a leader of men.
