  1. Thats wrong I believe. Worksafe Victoria have a statutory duty to investigate.
  2. Re the workcover thing, Workcover are responsible for workplace safety. For them to 'outsource' an investigation to a body that is focused on possibly different things is beyond belief. Imagine your own workplace and the same thing happening. Its inconceivable that workcover would say " oh, we are waiting for everyone else to finish their investigation and well see what pops up. Evidence is destroyed, memories fade, behaviour continues etc etc A football club is a workplace just like yours and mine. It should be treated no differently. What you seem to suggest is that that: a) Worksafe will rely entirely on ASADAs findings - which I find incompetent and disturbing; or, they will begin an investigation after ASADA has finished theirs. Either one is deplorable and different to how yours and my workplace would be treated. And the absence of records we don't know officially about but workcover should be in there finding out. Not relying on some statutory body that frankly has not real track record of doing anything in the way of investigations. I mean, what skills do ASADA have in investigations? And if the records are missing them al the directors should be thrown in the can. Thats what would happen in my workplace. The point is clear. Footy is no different to any workplace. Its a bit like the police saying, 'we won't investigate that murder because the immigration department is looking into the circumstances. We'll rely on their findings' Clearly wouldn't happen.
  3. Agree with your conspiracy theory but in this case I think they were running an experiment and when you do that you keep records because you want to know what works and what doesn't. Remember they didn't think they were doing anything wrong so there was no need not to keep records or destroy records. Still the two biggest stand out things for me are why workcover isn't involved and why they haven't interviewed Dank. Something smells.
  4. 60% of the ad revenue in Australia comes from Sydney and Southern Queensland. Look no further as to why they are supporting these ventures....TV, TV, TV.... Actually by the time the next TV rights deal comes around the AFL will be producing their own content and making around $3bn over 5years....
  5. I agree - I think we are being soooo patient with the ball and waiting for the right option rather than bombing it in. Hence our numbers of i50s are low but because we are slecting the right option in accasions once we get it in there our conversion rate is high. The rest we are probably turning over!
  6. You guys still writing on this thread? What was it about again?
  7. This makes my blood boil.....GWS played the draft like a stradivarious. They were expected to go for a mix of youth and senior players to make them competitive straight away and with a realistic chance of success within 5 yrs. They said stuff that - and went for the cream of youth anticipating they could build an incredibly talented pool of young players. They might be able to trade some of those players once GWS have been in the system for a few years and are getting competitive. They had a number of years when the AFL would support them come hell or high water and they are taking advantage of that. If they are tracking worse than the AFL expected its only because of GWSs drafting strategy. They shouldnt be given any more assistance but the AFL are now in it up to their neck. Can't afford it to fail. They will throw money and rule changes at GWS for years to come...
  8. I'm still waiting for Workcover to begin their investigation. It beggars belief they have not chosen to look at this.
  9. The changing of CEOs in AFL is pretty interesting when you look at history. Everyone gets caught up in minutia but overall the game is in a healthy shape when you look at revenue, attendances, grass roots etc. As it was when Ross Oakly left etc Where it fails though is the average AFL supporter is taken for granted, the welfare state of the clubs is staggering, the inequity of the draw and TV appearances etc, and the poor state of the stadium deals. It also fails to sell the equalisation message with some clubs thinking they shouldn't be supporting weaker clubs. They all agreed to have a draft and salary caps etc because they recognise the competition would be lesser of there were only 8 clubs. Yet they still whinge about clubs receiving AFL money. That irks me a lot....
  10. My tip is Mike Fitzpatrick resigning.....
  11. Agreed. If the report said "interviewd Dank and he was unresponsive" that in inself would be telling.
  12. Wow. You must like drinking your own bathwater. Robson resigned he wasn't sacked. retty simple. Your post is a classic case of trying to divert attention when someone points out something you said is incorrect. You don't need to respond. Just accept it and move on. Life is less stressful that way
  13. I'd say we dodged a bullet and got well compensated as a result...
  14. How could they not interview Dank? They have the powers to do it. It beggars belief.
  15. You are loose with the truth. Robson offered to resign after the initial press conference. This was rejected. He then offered his resignation after the Ziggy inquiry and it was accepted. You can read more here. http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/2013-05-23/ian-robson-resigns
  16. Why don't you refrain from personal abuse - your comment tells me all I need to know about your intelligence.
  17. Yep but we have been skipping that class for thepast 7 yrs.....
  18. Oh dear, Poor Colin has another interupted pre-season. He'll be a gun one day, mark my words. If he could only get a full pre-season.........
  19. Its not about individuals its about a team. I think you will find with Roos that its all about players that can play a role to generate a great team performance. On that measure Beemer loses out big time, so does Col, The only one that irks me out that was Thompson. We nurtured that snake through a horrendous run with injury and he did the dirty on us. $cully - we did very well out of him. And his 7 kicks a game wouldnt make much difference for us.
  20. Hey! We have had three wins already in 2014!!!!!!!!!! Two intra-club matchs and one against the Toiges. We are already ahead of last year.. Woo Hoo....
  21. Thinking helps as well....
  22. Here's another fact. 10 yrs at the Dees and not once inside the top 5 in the best and fairest. Good riddance.
  23. He'll be a gun one day. Mark my words. If only he could get a full pre-season...........
  24. very strange decision but I notice the relevant Minister is now overseeing the investigation. That too is weird.
