GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Essendon
Will be interesting to hear the excuses flowing if we get beaten. The would losses to 3 bottom 6 sides in 4 games There will be nowhere to hide and heads should roll. But they won't because this club accepts mediocrity like a dying man in the desert accepts a sip of water Fully expecting us to fall 5 goals behind, rally into the last and win by 2pts meaning another 12 months at least of the most boring coach in the world. Yay Go Dees

TMac on the Trade Table?
May arguably yes. Trac no doubt Weideman. Nope Langdon? 2x top 5 B&F at Freo. Having a good year but arguably not 'improved' Hibberd has had much better years Don't think you're winning this debate.

Trent Rivers Rising Star?
Analysis of the RS award I did a few years back shows that those awarded in the first 8 rounds have a significantly higher chance of winning. I recall that there were only 2 or 3 from later rounds. That's a joke. Everyone should be eligible that qualifies.

Trent Rivers Rising Star?
23 chances to get nominated in a regular year. MOst clubs have at least 2 good contenders each year so there is at least 13 that miss out. I disagree with your assertion that a potential winner is likely to have a standout game. FOr a start he could have it on the wrong week when someone does something freakish. When Rankine was nominated it woudn't have mattered who else had a good game. Rankine was always going to get it. GWS and GC have been 'favoured' in many cases as the AFL wants to give their fans some hope. That has reduced the number from other clubs that could be nominated. I say make it clearer what the award is for. If its for a star of the future as it originally was then that could be someone who has a 7/10 game every week but gets beaten every week by a standout game from another club. If its for a best 1st year player (which is what its morphed into) then reward consistency The weekly award is fine. The annual award as it stands is dumb.

Trent Rivers Rising Star?
Its a dumb award the way it is currently If you are going to have a best 1st year player award then make it so with everyone elegible, not just those who win a weekly award. It has strayed away from its original purpose as is usual with many things AFL

THE RUN HOME 2020
Easier to stomach because we got beaten by two teams in the bottom 5 in consecutive weeks? That makes me even angrier at this club.

He gets a bad rap on here. Geez those highlight reels look impressive. He's a keeper for mine.

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Essendon
Sadly you are spot on. We have blown it Wouldn't surprise anyone if either scenario happend below: a) We get smashed by Essendon b) St Kilda loses and we wallop Essendon but fall 0.001% short This club only knows one way.

Time to have a talk about Jayden
He is a very good kick for goal
-
Isaac Smith
So the reason he would want to come here is money and/or a longer contract? Nope.

Jake Lever.. Can someone explain??
Sorry but I can't abide this argument that somehow Goody was a genious and we recruited for a game plan and then lo and behold we were completely flumoxed by an AFL rule change. I don't buy it. It's pathetic and yet another excuse for our mentally fragile midgets.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs GWS
You do understand that we can't afford players in the team that apply zero defensive pressure?

Jack Viney Restricted Free Agent
If this is our decision it would be a mistake of the highest order. I understand he can be a bit polarising and he has some limitations but he a bull that needs to be used better. He is in the mould of Selwood but with less polish. If he can add some calmness to his game and be more measured with his decision making he could be one of the outstanding players in the comp These players are not a dime a dozen, they are incredibly rare. And while his shortcomings are well known to us here with better coaching and direction he could explode. Maybe they have already tried that, maybe he doesn't listen but I wouldn't be happy with him leaving until we explored every last avenue to help him become a better player. Eveyr player has limitations and we have to work out how to work with what Viney has, not what he doesn't have. I am of the view the he and Oliver don't work effectively together as they are both 'see ball get ball' players that get in theirs and others way often. I think we have a coaching problem with our midfield and this needs to be fixed asap. We have gone from being #1 in clearances to being an also ran. That to me is all on the coaching panel and the confusion of how we are trying to play.
