No Cheney, Jetta or Bennell in our Premiership team? And I think your taking a huge punt by already including Butcher and Scully. I still think Green will be around in 2012.

Captain's shouldn't be identified by a yellow number on their back. They should be identified by superior skills and leadership.
-
12 possessions and a goal, I think. He started an centre half back. This is information from Triple M

Princes Park would probably be the most likely option, although I think it would need huge re-development to be the 3rd Melbourne venue, due to more games other than Carlton home games having to be played there. I still like the new stadium idea, but not something with a capacity of 30,000ish. I'd much prefer another stadium of 55,000, around the Dome mark. I liked the idea of building it on that land that's next to North Melbourne station.

West Coast have been averaging about 39,000 in their first 3 gome games, so i'd say just under that figure: 37,695

I'll be closely watching: PJ: Needs to fulfil duties in the ruck, it will be interesting to see if he can run and keep going with Cox for the day, but I doubt it. Needs to kick a goal or two and win a hell of a lot of hitouts. No Spencer/Meesen to support him. Only possible supporter in the ruck may be Stef Martin, who may just ruck in the back line, on forward line if he goes forward. Maric: Interesting to see how the young guy goes. He only just got his spot after an average game last week, so he will need to stamp an influence in the team, and fast. His disposal was shocking against Geelong, but I think that more of a crumbing forward role would do him better, so i'll be watching him closely. A good goal from him is my lowest expectation. Grimes: Good to see Grimey in for his first game of the year, 2nd of his career. Didn't do too much as Casey last week from what I saw but i'll be hoping for some good disposal effectiveness and good run and tackling. Bater: Under the telescope coming into this weeks game. Needs to kick minumum 2 goals, to confirm his spot in the team for next week, in my opinion. Needs to use strong hands and get in the pack for more marking contests, which I have been criticising him on recently. Davey: Will be watching him closesly, but only to see his exquisite ball skills.

Interchange: Cheney, Jones, Grimes, Bennell. I hope Grimes plays. No Spencer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
What has Bennell done to be dropped? I hope he plays 22 games this year, he looks a really good running player for the future Anyway, now that Meesen is probally gone 3 changes are intact In- Spencer, Jetta, Cheney Out- Maric, Meesen, Bate
-
What's wrong with Spencer?
-
Has there been any confirmation in the Media yet? Sad to loose Meesen, as people have said he had showed real promise in 4 games, he looked like he had the potential to become an elite Ruckman. I'd rather keep Martin down back and give Spencer a go (if avalible). I thought Spencer looked great and was unlucky to be out of the team, and it'll give him a good go at rucking.

I would love to see Valenti back in the squad, before McKenzie. Valenti should definitley be the next elevated player, due to his AFL experience last year, and we know Valenti cay play well and perform well.

Round 14 2006 against Brisbane at the Gabba was our last interstate win.

What A GOAL!!! Watts' ability at ground level is amazing. All 3 goals were crumbing goals. As time goes on this guy will only get better. Next week at Casey he'll kick 5 or 6.
-
2 wins hopefully. Maybe just 1. 60-90 minutes of great footy each game, but I don't think 1 win after 11 rounds would be showing our efforts (so far, at least)
-
Thanks Nugget, I remembered my prediction when I saw the crowd on the scoreboard today.
-
Buckley is looking a little big in my eyes. Luckily Watts wasn't in that group of players. Simple solution- don't play those guys.
-
Paul Johnson... should he be allowed to play AFL?

I thought PJ put in a solid performance today, his only real shocker game was Round 3 V Port. He is a bit down on form from last year, but he showed a bit of run in today's game. -
Look, i'm sure people saw shades of this today but we can win games! Why not put our best team on the track each week, and battle out to win games like we did with Geelong today? I want our best side to be playing against West Coast next week, which is a game we are very likely to win.

Out- Bate, Maric In- Jetta, Cheney. I know I might be the odd one out here but I didn't think that Maric's disposal was up to standard today- I think he needs a couple of more weeks to settle at Casey. I thought his return game would be great, but he had 13 possessions at 31% effectivness, and he never looked like a forward target, his role was running across half forward and the midfield without much of a clue of what of what he had to do, which was disappointing to see from him. If he had kicked a goal or two I would forgive him, but that isn't to be. Bate leads for the ball too often and then barely goes up to mark it in a contested situation, and his decision making was horrible today. He didn't kick a goal again today, which is worrying for a forward. Jetta and Cheney should provide much more to the team than these two do.

6-Davey 5-Morton 4-Frawley 3-Warnock 2-Martin 1-McLean

I thought Sylvia tried hard for most of the game, nearly all of it.

Coburg Tigers v Casey Scorpions 2/5/09
Je Roos Salem replied to PeterJames's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great performance from Watts today. They were just showing highlights of his performance of Before the Game and hopefully he can play a few more great games at Casey to lead up to his long-awaited debut. -
I'm not saying we need to develop a winning culture- I don't like that argument either. Winning games is what you do in Footy- to get up the ladder and try and make the finals. Why can't we win games instead of talking about us being 3-19 or 4-18 when we have only played 5 games?
-
Can everyone stop talking about the future? We can't spend a whole year talking about the future of the club- when we have games to play. I would MUCH rather win games of footy than think about any draft pick at the moment. I don't want the club to win 4 wins or less, I want the club to win as many games as possible- and then think about draft picks when the season has finished. I'd be happier with 5 wins than 4 wins at the end of the season.

Stupid Collingwood refuse to wear something other than the "Prison bars". I think North Melbourne's home jumper would have done fine V Collingwood, especially since Collingwood have a black back and North have a white back. It's a disgrace to have to wear a light blue alternate ship for a home game.
