  1. I think Morton should be rested this week due to poor form. He hasn't been up to standard for the last few weeks and should play at Casey. His kicking skills were looking great at the start of the year but they have gotten gradually worse in the last few weeks.
  2. I agree that Wheatley should be playing. Just because he has had a couple of injuries this year all of a sudden people were saying how crap he was and how he should be delisted etc. Wheatley had a good 2008 season and should definitely return to the senior side as soon as possible. I think Wheatley just needs to get out on the field and I think we are in desperate need of some older spiritual leaders.
  3. If no one wants us to win the game against West Coast then don't turn up- or turn up in west coast colours. If you want the Demons to lose games then you don't barrack for them. Simple as that. I go to the footy every week because I want my team to beat the opposition. Dean Bailey has said that the Demons don't tank and they come out to play and win every week. So everyone is calling our coach a liar? Draft picks aren't anywhere near as exciting as the joy from winning a game. Tanking only slows things down, winning games brings form. Everyone has to realise this.
  4. My Changes: Out- Morton, Cheney, Bennell (just squeezed out) In- Warnock, Jones, Jamar My Team: B Frawley Warnock Martin HB Grimes Rivers Bruce C Jones McLean Davey HF Green Miller Robertson F Jetta Watts Jurrah Foll: Johnson Sylvia Moloney Int: Whelan, Bate, Bartram, Jamar Emg: Morton, Cheney, Bennell
  5. The Bentleigh club in Bentleigh is officiated with the Demons, and iv'e been there a couple of times this year and there is a great atmosphere, great amount of supporters and a a few great screens to watch the game on.
  6. On the sunday footy show they were saying that Watts should play next week, and then play at Casey for the rest of the year. I think he will play next week, now he has played a solid game and kicked a couple of goals, I don't think he should be rested.
  7. In my opinion I thought Jetta played too far up the ground for the whole game- pretty much in the midfield. Also, I think Davey needs to play in the forward pocket or at least half forward because I think he will be more of a use there, after seeing his shocking handpass in the back half which gave his brother a goal. I agree that Maric hasn't proved much as a crumbing forward, but I think Wonaeamirri will be the wild card when he returns.
  8. Yea I agree about those seats on either side of the scoreboard. They should either get rid of them or maybe get a bigger and better scoreboard in place, which is badly needed at Docklands I think. I was sitting on the half forward flank on the broadcast side towards the Lockett end- can't complain about the seats, but I remember I sat in a similar place for the St.Kilda V Melbourne game last year, and I couldn't see the other end very well at all cos of the bloody sun. Iv'e never sat very high up on the top level, but I think the view is excellent on the wing on the first few rows. I still think they need a seperate scoreboard, one that just shows the score like the MCG have two of. The ticketing is bad but you just need to avoid getting them when you are there by pre-booking.
  9. Don't think Dunn will survive until 2012, let alone 2010. I think Green will still be playing at 31, we need someone old in our team for leadership (like McDonald).
  10. Bit harsh on Bartram, he started quietly but he spent the entire night tagging Brett Stanton and I thought he did a pretty good job. I don't think it was Martin's best game ever, but he did some good things. I thought Miller did more than enough to stay in the team and looked dangerous for quite a bit of the game.
  11. 6- Green 5- Moloney 4- Davey 3- Bruce 2- Sylvia 1- Jurrah
  12. 9 Aboriginal players on the field tomorrow night. I think Maric was due for a rest, and I think it's good that Bartram is getting a game for once. The Jetta inclusion is another good one. Hope Jones and Warnock are ok with the virus. A knee injury for McDonald is also a suprise. But it's also good to see that McLean is playing, despite the talk on the other thread. Martin will need to play in the ruck although Essendon only have Ryder so PJ won't need too much help.
  13. 14. Watts will improve gradually in his first season as all other first round draftees usually do. Jack Ziebell and Stephen Hill didn't have brilliant debut games in Round 1. I think that Watts will kick 2-3 goals tomorrow night.
  15. 41,116 at the Dome. Shouldn't be under 40 thousand due to an Essendon home game.
  16. Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous all the mistakes made by the journo's who write these articles. They should get their facts right or pass it on through an editor before they put it on the site.
  17. I reckon that we are good enough to win five games- as I have said before we can easily win 4-5 games for the rest of the season. The reality could be that we don't win 5, however. But I think there is some over-reacting going on, about sacking Dean Bailey and the whole footy department. It's not a very big deal in many ways.
  18. What Could Hardwick bring to the club? come on think about it seriously, I don't think Hardwick could put the club in a better position at all.
  19. ? What you said didn't make sense. And do you know for a fact that Jurrah is making his debut?
  20. I agree- we don't have much depth in our midfield. We need someone to step up in the middle and lead the team. Moloney, Jones and McLean are all good but they just need to get some consistency into their game. Players like Green and Sylvia aren't much help because they are better in the forward line. Hopefully Grimes can be rotated a bit more through the midfield, and become a key mover- and please, no one mention Tom Scully yet because he can't help our midfield at the present time.
  21. You don't think Melbourne can beat Port at the G? I think they can, and will. But I think you should rub the Demons off the tanking list. Yes, it's an argument that we won't be good enough to win any of these games, but we have any easy run home you think that we would win 3 games AT LEAST.
  22. Why would we play a guy who looks comfortable at VFL level and isn't reliable? He also lets supporters down when he plays, and isn't reliable in front of goal. Not good for the club. Sorry Juice.
  23. I think there has been a record number of number changes in the league coming into this year- but I don't think players should "earn" a lower number. One number change I didn't like was Wonaeamirri's from 39 to 33. And Stefan Martin's from 33 to 34? Is it because Stef Martin looks more like Jeff White than Jeff Farmer? And then Jetta moves to 39? I think that the club's trying to create a stereotype player for a corresponding number. Like James Frawley picking up Alastair Nicholson's old number (number 8, not 44) And Daniel Bell, Steven Febey's old number. Anyway I think that John Butcher (presuming he comes to the club) will wear number 9 and Scully number 13.
  24. I don't think it would work at all. Garland is a key defender who is quick on his feet and great spoiling skills. Not essential for a forward. For all of last year (and one game this year) he was playing as our main defender and he is clearly the most dangerous defender on our team, in my opinion. I think that no player needs to be moved forward at the club, including Martin.
  25. Essendon home games at the Dome are always fully ticketed- it really annoys me, you can't just buy a general admission ticket and sit on the wing.
