  1. 6- Pedersen 5-McDonald 4- Garlett 3- N.Jones 2- Garland 1- Cross
  2. He's a step behind in pace, awareness and toughness. Doesn't have any physical attributes to get excited about. It's sad to see such a high prospect seem so limited this early in his career. Maybe give him one game as a pure onballer, feed him to the lions at the stoppages (of which he can hopefully get to) and see what he's made of. Don't think he's helpful behind the ball or on the wing at the moment
  3. Hit the nail there, exactly what I've proposed too. Watts has been very underutilised in that role for years. The GC game was proof that he's capable.
  4. I think he needs a couple of weeks off, doesn't matter if it's form based or injury based, give him at least one game in the VFL and assess where he's at
  5. Dawes must be a fantastic trainer and most importantly a good bloke.
  6. I'll try Dawes- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Michie- Doesn't fit in Toumpas- Skin and bones McDonald- Beaten, yet determined Stretch- Rename him yawn Howe- Swingman: Frustration personified Vandenberg- At least tries Grimes- Junk, indecisive disposal N.Jones- Barged through packs M.Jones- Casey casey casey Bail- Deserves another shot Salem- Bench must've sucked Brayshaw- Kept at it Pedersen- See Dawes, kidding Garlett- He's AFL standard Tyson- Content to back-track Vince- Ineffective, but ok. Garland- Decent, boring game Lumumba- Hardly showed up Spencer- Battles but fails Cross- Stood out, unfortunately Dunn- Possessions went nowhere
  7. He can't contribute. The most embarrassing thing is that he spoke for us during the week and pumped up our chances, then barely got near the ball. I have no idea why he's a leader when he doesn't show the way on the field. With Pedo proving himself inside 50 I see no reason why we should keep Dawes in as a passenger.
  8. I'm curious about ACL's, How much of it is spent in pain/limited movement and how much is precautionary? When Petracca tweets "knee feels good" is he really unable to play for the rest of the season? Could he run at the moment?
  9. I think Dunn should run up the ground more. Seems to have been more of a stay at home back this year, he has a decent boot that could get us some entries
  10. It's terrible to see what that disease has done to him, but to see such spirit in the man is fantastic. Easily the best MFC coach of my lifetime. Wish you the best Neale
  11. Have you ever shouted this at games? Last year I think, someone near me kept calling Watts a pea heart. Thought it was pretty funny tbh
  12. I can understand Newton, been quite unsighted in the past two games, but at least he can kick a goal and get the ball inside 50
  13. Almost expected to see Tapscott listed with the ins honestly. I think Roos is running out of whiteboard markers. Our team selection seems very chaotic at the moment, only surpassed by Carlton. I don't think we'll ever have a best 22. Only a best 10 or so
  14. Hope it's Gawn. If he can't get near it he can just get subbed off in the third
  15. To me Watts should be a lead up forward. He should really be the athletic, versatile 2nd tall to be balanced with Hogan's size and strength. No way he is a running wing/flank. He can lead up to the flanks to spot up a target inside 50, but once he's aimlessly following the ball around the ground or just playing loose as a winger is when his flaws are most pronounced.
  16. Not surprised by Bail and M.Jones. More surprised by Grimes and Michie coming back in. As for Watts..I'll try and be positive that a return to the VFL could reignite him, but generally I hate it when players are demoted to sub and then dropped off the back of that.
  17. I'd say Howe is pretty lucky to be that high too. Watts must be the tallest small/medium forward at 196cm. I wonder how much influence this player rating team will have on the All Australian team come year's end?
  18. The facts are that Hogan has asserted his dominance for 6 games straight when you could almost excuse a young key forward to have one or two unsighted games in there. Has fought hard and found a way to get involved. I'm confident he's gonna be a really good player, barring injury
  19. He's 23 and in his sixth year on the list. Has had bad injury luck, but I think he's got to improve this year to sure up his future. Ruckmen can take 5-6yrs, such as Sandilands before he was really dominant, or even Jamar (although they both played a lot more footy early on)
  20. Agree, while Stretch didn't harm his prospects, he did seem overwhelmed. I think Bail and M.Jones will be right in the mix for selection this week
  21. Because of Hawthorn's game plan I feel the contrast in styles may open up more opportunities for us than our previous two games did. We'll probably need to clobber them physically in the first quarter to put them off their game though. We may play a good first half and run out of legs and lose by 40-50, actually in a way that's the best case scenario
  22. True, and we've played a couple of wet weather games. Still, tons of unacceptable turnovers in the dry V Sydney. Well, it's gonna stay tough if Jones and Tyson don't get 100%. To me that says Bernie needs to lift or we need Lumumba in the middle more just to be able to break away from stoppages
  23. Smith, Hill and Shiels are the ones that could hurt us. Presuming McDonald takes Roughead, I can imagine Gunston giving us problems, though I just looked him up and funnily enough he's never actually played Melbourne
