  1. Not so worried about Hawkins. Stevie J and Motlop moreso. I have confidence that Viney will do a good job on Selwood
  2. Interesting that Fitzy is selected in the VFL but not even in the 25. JKH too, even though he may be 'underdone' if it's gonna be such slim pickings then I'd like to see him playing
  3. Given Spencer probably won't play with Gawn, no Fitzy or Pedo to be 2nd ruck hurts. Bench should probably be Terlich, ANB, Riley and Jones
  4. You're kidding me. I already bought a ticket! He is not a guy who needs to managed. In fact he's the one who should be managing others.
  5. We should be wearing it. We also have games against the Dogs, Bombers and Dockers where we should be wearing it, but you never know.
  6. Over the past month, our midfield as a whole is in really good form Vince, Jones, Viney, Cross, Brayshaw, Toumpas and now Watts. (Vandenberg before his injury too, I'll hold judgement on Tyson) What has hurt us is a lack of decent flankers, which is where Salem and Kent would be really handy
  7. Bought my ticket for Sunday, looking forward to it. Just hoping it's better than 2 years ago, which was probably the worst game I've ever been to. I got drenched by rain that I didn't know was forecast. Probably could've been another 186 if it wasn't so wet, we were deplorable on that day
  8. No it was his thumb. He stuck it too far out when hitchhiking back after the game.
  9. I found it hard to get used to at first, especially being on the top level. Way too much white on the field, even though our previous white one was worse. The red definitely was the better alternative + we should be allowed to wear it as it actually features our colours. Also, apparently when it was introduced it said we would be wearing the red clash on 'several occasions' this year. Surely with a no-show against the Saints there's a good chance we won't wear it at all?
  10. I agree. I thought he was solid in a half against the Pies. Should definitely be in before Bail
  11. These last 4 injuries really hurt us. Not a fan of Dawes returning, would rather have him in the VFL again, however I can understand Anyone know anything else about Fitzy/Newton's chance for next week?
  12. Agree that Stretch and ANB both don't look ready. Given our lack of depth I'll excuse one or both of them staying in the team though
  13. Exactly. There has to be more assertiveness coming from the top. We are far from being a side the opposition fears. And please, no more talking of 'scarring from the past' from our coach.
  14. What pains me the most is the inroads we've made in talent, game plan and development count for nothing if there's not a burning desire to win, which was very apparent in yesterday's game
  15. Well put. I think there were 10,000 fans in the crowd who could have done a better job as a runner and screamed it out to them
  16. Salem and Kent being fit would help us a lot, we wouldn't have to keep rotating the fringe mids (Newton, Michie etc) in and out of the team
  17. True, but as captain Jones should've instinctively gone to the contest himself
  18. Well, Roos is taking responsibility and Vince thought there were several minutes left on the clock http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-06-14/communication-breakdown-cost-dees-in-final-seconds?utm_medium=RSS
  19. "PAUL Roos has taken responsibility for Melbourne’s heartbreaking loss on Sunday as it emerged a communication breakdown may have cost the Dees in the final minute. Midfielder Bernie Vince admitted he thought minutes remained on the clock when the final siren sounded." http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-06-14/communication-breakdown-cost-dees-in-final-seconds?utm_medium=RSS
  20. Look, I don't disagree, but I don't think we can just blame the players forever. There has to be some accountability from the top, who picks the players, recruits the players, works with the players every week
  21. I don't mind us holding possession or handballing but I think at too many stages we had about 4-5 players sandwiched together when they should've been spacing out. Then of course in the final quarter no one was running in the corridor. It was a miracle we got two marks inside 50 in the dying minutes by the way our players were moving TBH
  22. While most may say that Roos isn't at fault, if his players aren't listening to him and/or they don't know how to setup when the game's on the line then his coaching has to be at least questioned. It's his job to make sure this doesn't happen.
  23. I'm finally seeing the player who we recruited, shame it's taken so long for things to click but he's running around with a lot more confidence. Still has his flaws but looks a lot more eager to amend them now
  24. Then I'm gonna have to be more selective about when I praise Nathan Jones. All his hard work amounts to nothing when he can't lead us to victories
  25. I can't fathom how a side can load up their defensive 50 for a whole quarter, and then when finally hitting the lead with under a minute left, MATCHING UP EVENLY OVER THE GROUND. IT'S NOT MOTHERF'IN NETBALL. Was Roos napping? Do the players just not care? Or is Roos still telling the players not to look at the scoreboard? Utterly pathetic from us. We were lucky to even get the lead, our fitness was being exposed and then once I saw our setup from that final bounce I could just see us getting screwed. I am yet to be convinced that we want to win games. Cannot explain that garbage in another way
