  1. Sat night a female brisbane supporter friend of mine asked about who number 9 was.... she asked "who's the 12 year old???" fortunately he was everywhere after that. There goes the kid, its the 12 year old again and again and again...... In my books he's now known as 'the kid' (or the 12 year old!!) :-)
  2. I for one would like to conrgatulate TJ on his 200th league game this upcoming weekend. 160 of them with us before he was sent packing. according to todays HUN Johnstone's dream when he was selected by Melbourne with the No. 1 pick in the 1997 draft was to be a one-club player... 200 games above the norm best wishes to him and hope he will be welcomed back with arms wide open once his playing days are done with Brissy
  3. duuuuuddddde are u serious??? B Moloney = 'Beamer' loney
  4. Bail very unlucky not to get his spot back... was absolutely fantastic in the first four weeks. Didn't get dropped, couldn't over a corky in time. Thought the bloke that replaced him last week might make way - thought wrong on that
  5. i've joined and sent requests to all my facebook 'friends'. Here's the link jim stynes medal facebook page as for my 2 cents worth Why just an AFL medal????? Make it available for memebrs of the general public to win. Make it a medal for general inspiration or acts of heroism - ie. major philanthropy, beating illness, curing cancer, saving lives in a fire etc. Or, alternatively a football medal one year and a general public medal the next so as it can inspire everyone..... Edit: group members up to 3500 already wow!!
  6. Just on a side note -Simon Buckley named in Coll%@d's side to play the saints. I wish him well, pity we couldn't get him out on the park much last year
  7. Haven't seen it posted anywhere Part 1 - talks about Jack Trengove, Scully and Jack Watts.... part 2 - talks about leadership, improvement, finals.... hopefully theres some good stuff in there
  8. AFL website said Seaby from West coast has asked to be traded.......... maybe a ready made replacement??????
  9. After watching today, very very happy we took Watts over NikNat. He looks like a one trick pony who has a leap and was able to use over the kids. A big strong bodied Jamar jumps into him at the bounces and he was flustered and had no idea how to go about rucking against a someone who uses their body. My thoughts are that he'll be a flash in the pan marketing tool and be chewed up, spat out and forgotten about in a short career (but then again....i could be wrong about him)
  10. We have had a run of stress injuries - Garland, Meesen, Jamar...., not to mention the dreaded OP that has been around as well, to me that means we haven't got the development/conditioning right. If my memory serves me right Essnedon and Hawthorn had a stack of soft tissue injuries a few years back - is there link??? maybe BB was at all clubs in the condittioning/running department HMMMMMMM! Is he no longer at those clubs due to the rate of injury? We need to develop strong hard bodies in all our kids at a pace that they can physically develop at. 18 - 22 y.o bodies are generally still developing and we cannot afford to have key players out for long chunks due to preventable injuries
  11. DB has already gone on record saying we will be taking one Midfeilder and one KP with the first 2 picks. Scully is a lock. Therefore they will be taking Butcher, unless someone absolutely demands they be taken. The Toigs have been smashed from day one about taking Deledio and Tambling while Roughy and Buddy were on the table. I don't think DB or BP would want to make that mistake. Big bodied KP's are worth their weight in gold. We haven't recruited one since Neitz/Schwarz. Imagine taking Tengrove and he goes and does a F@$%ing Scott Thompson on us, while Butcher Plays for West Coast or Richmond or North and regularly kicks bags against us. Not a pretty scenario. We will Take Butcher thanks
  12. From the AFL website Melbourne: BL v MELB 19:00 Fox Sports 1 LIVE Brisbane: BL v MELB 19:30 Channel 10 30 min delay 19:00 Fox Sports 1 LIVE if you live elsewhere and are watching this game........... who cares!!!! ;-)
  13. half back flank. end of story. Jack is averaging 8 marks per game which puts him in the top 10 of the league for average marks per game. He reads the play beautifully and backs in front of packs like a 100 gamer. Has got Andrew Mcleod-esque abilty - will be VERY good, all australian half back flanker for years to come
  14. Cheers Dave, once again a top read. As well as everyone else i see your small forwards as our main problem, especially if medhurst comes in. Didak medhurst lockyer and neon leon - 4 small/mids. we have a tall backline at present - i'm not too sure about frawley and rivers covering these types. For me we need Wheels and Grimes to play well on dids and medhurst, hopefully have Flash play off half back meaning Lockyer would be playing a defensive forward role, and bring in Cheney for the other small (davis). That leaves Warnock to play on Anthony and rivers to complete the back 6. Stef Martin needs to go forward [or maybe gets a rest if there isn't a matchup]. That still leaves Frawley as a spare defensive player to cover tall or short if needed
  15. This is my point...... everyone else seems to get one on the back of one outstanding performance. Yet our lads need to perform consistently high over numerous, numerous weeks to even get a mention anywhere. Grimey will be a 150 gamer and captain of the dee's before they notice the kid CAN play!!!
  16. Back in '92, when i was doing yr12, we had one K Sheedy come to the school for a talk to the footy side. He was harping on how Kevin Dyson was the best kick in the league and how shitty he was that they missed out on him after their recruiters rated him very highly - good to get atleast one over those pr*cks
  17. What does Jack NEED to get a rising start nomination? The bloke looks like a 200 game veteran - directing play, backing back into packs. His Stats are phenominal for a bloke who's played 4 games. Getting 4 more touches than Rich per game yet no love from the media or the AFL! Kyle Cheney not too far behnd in his stats as well! Stats Stolen from Footywire: 2009 AFL Rising Stars Disposals Per Game Leaders (Minimum 2 Games Played) Rank Player Team Games Disposals for Last Game Average 1 Jack Grimes Melbourne 4 21 v St Kilda, Round 10 20.8 2 Jarryn Geary St Kilda 10 22 v Melbourne, Round 10 19.4 3 Andy Otten Adelaide 10 16 v Hawthorn, Round 10 19.3 4 Andrew Collins Richmond 7 24 v Fremantle, Round 10 19.3 5 Brendan Whitecross Hawthorn 10 14 v Adelaide, Round 10 18.7 6 Jaxson Barham Collingwood 4 15 v St Kilda, Round 7 18.5 6 Kyle Cheney Melbourne 4 22 v Western Bulldogs, Round 8 18.5 6 Ben Ross North Melbourne 4 17 v Brisbane, Round 10 18.5 9 Jarryd Morton Hawthorn 8 12 v Adelaide, Round 10 18.1 10 Cale Hooker Essendon 5 22 v Geelong, Round 10 17.6 11 Chris Masten West Coast 9 22 v Carlton, Round 10 17.0 12 Daniel Rich Brisbane 10 25 v North Melbourne, Round 10 16.9 13 Jack Ziebell North Melbourne 9 12 v Brisbane, Round 10 16.6 14 Garry Moss Hawthorn 8 14 v Melbourne, Round 9 16.2 15 Hamish Hartlett Port Adelaide 6 15 v Collingwood, Round 10 16.2 16 Alex Rance Richmond 6 11 v Brisbane, Round 7 16.0 17 Steele Sidebottom Collingwood 4 12 v Port Adelaide, Round 10 15.8 18 Dayne Beams Collingwood 6 10 v Carlton, Round 8 14.7 19 Brad Dick Collingwood 4 25 v Port Adelaide, Round 10 14.5 20 Callan Ward Western Bulldogs 7 18 v Sydney, Round 10 14.1 28 Addam Maric Melbourne 5 13 v St Kilda, Round 10 13.2
  18. i think i'm turning gay......... i'm feeling a lot of man love for Grimey, Maric........ AND NOW JACK ' JACKY BOY' 'JESUS CHRIST' 'the MESSIAH' WATTS not to put any pressure on kid! - hopefully he just play, not necessarily well nor to kick a bag, but just to play (and if does get couple well that be just DANDY)
  19. skipper3, i think he's saying we're getting smashed every week in the third quarter. obviously tonight was no different. We go to sleep in the rooms for some reason
  20. Come on Jack, kick a bag tomorrow..... come in for the QB game. You just get the feeling that he might've provided a target that noone else would (or possibly could) tonight against the sainters.
  21. Stupid stupid turnover's - basic f'ing handballs to open players missing targets - NOT GOOD ENOUGH FROM PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS only just shading the blatant one sided umpring decisions for our current predicament!
  22. jmac back on.....knee must be ok!!!!! Junior has wolverine like healing powers!
  23. jmac. done his knee. not looking good on replays
  24. ummm...... NO! and they're getting away with throws, push outs...we should've had about 5 holding the balls as well!!!!!! the only one i remember was the downfield for gardiner throwing an elbow at the russian
