  1. Lethal doesn't have a clue, and will gradually be eating his words. In JW's second game he made the assessment "he hasn't shown anything to warrant pick 1" and now 12 months on,and 5-8 kg heavier, JW's has a less impressive game in my opinion and all of a sudden "he will be a good player eventually". Mathews has lost all perspective on player development, and would never give Watts the respect he deserves unless he debuted looking like a 20 yr old Barry Hall (built like a brick [censored] house), otherwise he is no "child prodigy"...
  2. And everyone on this forum berated me for suggesting me an error in not selecting Bradshaw. Well the only egg in our basket has just broken.. Get well LJ!
  3. I understand your argument peanuts and likewise hope it was a FD decision.
  4. Absolutely love this initiative. Having mentors which relect short term, achievable goals is fantastic. This should be the culture at the club, having mentors at all levels until ultimately your the top dog (JMac), a veteran and club captain!
  5. Fantastic to see the team bonding and pushing one another, but from an elite performance perspective is this the ideal way to challenge your body? Especially given the recurring nature and frequency of soft tissue tears in footy. I somehow doubt that the sophisticated training methods employed by the world class clubs would have their athletes doing this kind of training ie does Kobe do it?....if he does..then rock on!
  6. Hmm the more that I think about it, it could also be the case of Melbourne playing the percentages securing Joel Macdonald instead of playing hard ball and potentially ending up with nothing if Bradshaw and Macdonald nominate for ND/rookie draft.
  7. I'am interested to know why Melb,Rich or Freo decided against taking Bradshaw. I would've thought the 31 year old leading all-time Brisbane goal scorer and three-time premiership player would have been given at the very least some serious thought. Melbourne didn't even give an announcement why he isn't worthly of our selection/interest. Is it because his club of choice is Sydney or was it because as a result of Robbo being delisted that we for sentimental reasons avoided making a tough decision that was in the best interests of the football club. In my opinion Bradshaw was the best player available and the ideal candidate for us, to hold down the forward line for two years while the developing Watts/Jurrah show makes its way to town. It is also debatable that Bradshaw displays more leadership qualities than the recently loved/scorned Luke Ball. So why didn't we select him? Because if the decision was made for the above stated reasons I personally couldn't give a rats where his club of choice was and in regard to Robbo, such sentimental moves have no place in football if you want to win a flag.
  8. CAC was a failure of a recruiter simply because irrespective of the picks we had available, he failed to draft enough talent to prevent the club from bottoming out and rightfully deserved the sack for this. This is the ultimate test of a recruiter and CAC failured in this area whilst other clubs at varying degrees were able to achieve success.
  9. He has way more power that Slvia. This kid is an absolute freak and will tear it up in the afl!
  10. The MFC must no something no one else knows, because from all reports Talia or Lucas were always ahead of Gsybert.. Anyway whats done is done, and I hope Gys shows the rest of the AFL recruiters a thing or two.
  11. OMG this kid leaves alot to be desired. Watch the footage labelled "finals" at exactly 5minutes in he takes a set shot from about 30m and doesnt even make this distance. The full back marks the ball on the goal line because players don't even bother lining up.
  12. Premadona got his way. End of story. The free agency debate will loose some steam.
  13. Absolutely pathetic stance by the MFC. Looking every clubs list, including our own (Davey), so many guns have come through the Rookie draft. To overlook this is poor judgement.
  14. Welcome to the Dees Tapscott! WRAPPPEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
  15. I have always admired the Crows recruiting and I read in several sources that the Crows would "love" to select Talia if he slipped. Well they got there guy.
  16. Ball must be the most overrated footballer on the planet. The Collingwood supporters I know would dread selecting Ball, and that's why they offered nothing at trade week. He's kidding himself if he thinks he can slot in guarranteed into Collingwoods midfield. And if we're willing to pay an exorbitant price for Ball then what type of message will that send to our team. I don't blame Brock for leaving if he was offended to take a pay cut.
  17. Big call. I know your temporarily obsessed with Black because the kid got a write-up today in the Herald and he will most likely be available at 11 but the football community collectively would disagree with you in saying he is a better prospect that Butcher. How many times have I heard it, "Butcher is the best tall prospect in the draft". I doubt you even knew Black existed till the Herald released there mock draft with BLACK, superstar, going to the DEESSSSS!
  18. Even more reason to be sceptical of drafting him. Can't wait for all the posters to say "blah blah jurrah this jurrah that". But I think one of the other posters said it correctly that we were kissed on the dick once with Jurrah and at pick11 I'am not happy to tolerate a great deal of speculation. Go with the known, seasoned quantitied in either Butcher/Talia if avalaible when looking for a tall.
  19. From the footage of Black I'am not sure he will succeed at AFL level. His legs look dangly and he requires more development than Butcher or Talia. Looks to me like a poor mans morton. Not to mention you should always be cautious of draft "shooters" like Black who peak at the end of the season and were not able to dominate at the Nationals. Just look at Scully, he has carried that number 1 reputation all throughout the year and delivered when it counted on the big stage. By contrast, Black kicks a bag in some nowhere competition and then strings a few good games together and suddenly people are up in arms over the bloke. No way, give me Butcher or Talia any day.
  20. Echoe that, but firm on Talia ahead of Black!
  21. Consider if he is not good enough and has to be delisted, what impact could this have on the real Grimesayy
  22. Hey Rollo I got 2 mates (both good players unfortunately) who are happy to play with St Kida. There both a certainty to play if you are able to find a spot for them... Cheers
  23. I have a North Melbourne mate who is desperate to take part...He has nominated the Dees as his club of choice but will go around with any of the other sides if they need numbers. Rollo, what is the scoop on the other teams, are they able to make numbers??
