  1. Did your previous employer give you your first break in the industry? Did they always do the right thing by you? Did they encouraged you, share experiences with you and make you integral to their business? Did they invested time and money in developing you to be the best you can be? Were they offering you $400+k to stay, with the oppurtunity to make even more in the future? Did you leave while others within your industry, those who are much more qualified and experienced than you, decided to stay? Did you value having more money over spending time with friends and family? If this was you, then maybe it wasn't ever even about the money. Maybe you were just making excuses.
  2. Seriously is it Stynes or Shwabs fault? take some time and think before you post dribble No further comment required.
  3. I also don't believe Cale has the genetics to put on size, something which I rekon a lot of supporters are banking on as key stage to his development. I've personally met a lot of guys that no matter what can't put of weight, and unless Cale is the laziest footballer going around, he is genetically at a disadvantage.
  4. Trengove said and repeatedly indicated (as I know you like facts RR but this is not wiki so no hyperlinks today mate) that its not all about the money. I agree with "why you little" that if sculz leaves this would significantly damage melbournes finals/premiership aspirations, something which Trenners has indicated, values highly and could open the door. You quoted slyvia and mclean as proof the notion of "blood brothers" doesn't exist. While you're right there is no proof that getting drafted together creates any link, however being part of an elite young brigade has proven to be a sticking point and "mantra" for clubs searching for premiership success. St Kilda which was inches away from a flag forged a blood brother mentality within their young core year ago, as was done with Geelong. Both teams faced salary cap pressure and stuck together. I somehow doubt this would have been the case had Reiwoldt or Bartel left their club at 20-23 for bigger bucks, that they would have stuck together as they did.
  5. I hope a lot of media commentators take notice and exercise more honest reporting. Its not just the Ox who is looking st.upid right now. I loved watching mike sheehan 3 week ago "on the couch" asking Lynch (sculz velocity manager) if Melbourne supporters should be optimistic about sculz signing. Lynch responded unflinchingly that "yes they should be optimistic". The perplexed looked on that pathetic reporters face was a joy to watch. Makes me wonder who are Mikes "leads". What second rate sources do the media use to sensationalise their articles...
  6. GWS will be a lot weaker than GC in their first year given that they have 2 years to recruit contracted players they will likely hold some salary cap reserve in wait of poaching players in their 2nd year. So watching the club embarrass themselves will be a joy and later on when their bloated salary cap brings a lot of players out of the unpopular felafel country.
  7. You find it refreshing..I must admit I find it tiring seeing your same opinion repeated again and again.
  8. Every shred of loyalty and passion this game possesses is slowly been slapped away with views such as yours. I hope for the sake of the MFC our players dont hold your views. Anyway, the competition is likely to include at least 2 more clubs in the near future, something which the fat controller is already inching towards. This will dramatically dilute the talent pool. The NBA did the same in 90s introducing a raft of new franchises, since then it is dominated by powerhouse clubs and the rest of the competition is unwatchable. I would seriously think twice before implementing this strategy in the tiny and already saturated talent pool of oz.
  9. Contested footy isnt part of Cales natural game, but I've seen signs of improvement in this area. I like him, but he reminds me of Cam Bruce, and the team can only accommodate one CB at a time. Wish he would prove me wrong though.
  10. No sheit. I bet Pendles wasn't offered a 1 year deal either but thats what he inked in. And Scully being portrayed as this "super professional", I wouldn't be suprised if he demanded a 1 year deal to still spend another year at Melb, stay in the GWS window, inflate his currency further and benefit from the new collective bargaining argeement. So I think its a good chance he will end up signing a 1 year deal, and melb supporters need to take a leaf out of the filth army and not get total hysteria when one of our players is highly sought after.
  11. Calm down, sculz isnt going anywhere. Imgaine if Scully signs a 1 year deal and this whole circus is repeated next year?
  12. Wattsy is looking great. Same with Vickery from the tigs. 2 guys that are proving their doubters wrong (myself included.
  13. I rekon worth a look if the price is right. But Geelong wouldn't trade if yet either, bc despite his developed body he might be a late bloomer (like so many) and geelong have put too much development in to ship him off for nothing. I think we're underrating opposition players a bit here. At the very least hawkins always draws a defender and occassionally can bust up a pack, something that can't be said for all of our forwards..
  14. Where are you facts? you seem to blame CS and adamant that there was a democractic vote by all 16 clubs? where are you facts Rhino? ...you got none...so stop using childish tactics and pretending this is legal battle or that your arguments have any more credibility than others. There are no conspiracy theories, just media observations over the way the GWS concessions were put to vote. You seem to belive all 16 club presidents were negligent in duties by approving the concessions, I believe that it was a done deal beforehand. Believe me, I dont subscribe to any conspiracy theories..
  15. There was no vote. The word "vote" implies a democratic process,of which there was none. It was demetrios way or the highway and all the clubs knew that. And your little precedent argument ignores the fact that the White deal involved pick 2 and 18 as consideration. If those picks were on the table for Scully this whole saga would be a lot easier to swallow.
  16. Shwartz doesnt know jack! I remember him 2 years ago on SEN saying repeatedly day after day that Davey is good as gone and he resigned albeit after dragging his feet somewhat with the contract, but point is Shwab is as in the know as any one of us (which is very little). I'll trust what Trenners and Watts think of Scullys position. Bt the way, positive signs, I saw Trenners, Scully, Watts, Tappers and Gys all out at dinner together a few nights ago. GO DEES!
  17. You're right.Bailey, Brad Scott and Lyon all terrible coaches. Chris Scott pure gold. Where can we get a half-brother who is 100-times better than the other half-brother that is also coaching? Injuries and experience are just excuses..
  18. Improving?? Name a single team in AFL/sports history that ever improved on last year when the team is crueled by injuries. Listen to what you're saying because it doesnt make any sense. And mark it down, Scully will stay a Demon.
  19. Man Demetrio needs to get the sack. Fans from all clubs need to join forces to get dictator demetrio out of the job. Demetrio track record: - Constant rule changes making umpiring impossible and consistent application of rules out of wack. - Expansion into NSW is a joke of a venture with many existing clubs struggling to survive. - Recently telling clubs to "avoid going head first into the contest" shows Demetrio and his goons have truly lost touch with the sport. - Minimum salary caps forcing teams at the bottom of the ladder to pay their $hit players top dollar, leaving no wiggle room to attract and poach other successful teams stars. Only option is to drastically over pay their existing players and tank to rebuild through the draft, demoralising the club and supporter base. - Game has become soft. - Allowing effectively a 3rd salary cap to exist through "third party payments", giving rich clubs a competitive advantage in the competition. The fans from all clubs need to join forces to get rid of this money grubbing, power hungry, washed up spud. When is he going to resign? are there elections each year for his position or does he rule the board with a iron fist? It might take a forum like big footy to get the ball rolling. Fans must have their say!
  20. Jeez mate get your $hit together. I'm not happy with the gameplan and Bails has to do more, but get serious about your expectations. It's not going to be a do or die year in 2013. Yes the premiership window "should" open up in 2013 if all going to plan but if it does, it'll stay open for a good 5 years based on how young our list is and there will be plenty or bumps in the road along the way. I'm a relatively young supporter so I can't comment on what it feels like to see 50 years of failure, but I know that Collingwood and Geelong fans endured heaps or heartache and upsets before it finally crystalized. And when it does, it's night like tonight that will make it all that much better.
  21. We simply haven't drafted aggressive players as of late, and it's an area of the game we're definately lacking. I was very dissapointed we didn't draft Jack Darling, as another aggressive half-forward/back to team up with Tapscott and Sylvia. Instead we selected Cook who will take years to develop, but that Darling kid will be a formidable player from day one that you just know has what it takes to make the grade...
  22. Dont know what game you were watching, but the forwards did a fantastic job with limited opportunities. You do realise Hawthorn had 40 more inside 50s than melb which managed just 35 for the game! Relax on the harsh assessments
  23. Another big positive is no second year blues for Trenners thus far
  24. Very sorry Rollo I couldnt participate in the forum footy. I've been suffering from a severe injury the last 12 months which is why. Thanks for the updates however!!

  25. Yehhhh....weird would be a polite way to put it.. Looks like either the MFC are cost cutting in unimportant fields or the video camera and camera-man were lost during the move to AAMI park.
