It's partly the camera angle on TV. Main camera is too low.

Only one slight criticism of Weed's game. When he took that mark in the goal square with under 6 mins to go he shouldn't have played on. He had a chance to waste 30 seconds which just may have been needed if the cats got a run on from their 2 quick goals afterwards. Unlikely but not impossible.

Do I really have to barrack for C'wood....... uuggghh.?
-
Blame the coach. It's hard to tell the players to just carry on, stop appealing for frees and whinging when they know you are doing just that in the coaches box.
-
It was clear that he decided during the half time break to rough us up. Early in Q3 he was tackled by a Melb player (cant recall who) in a regulation no-damage tackle and Selwood went for him afterwards out of all proportion. Good to see he carried on with that...

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL Qualifying Final

Given that flogging, I presume no one in that Geelong team will be promoted to the seniors next week . So at least we won't have to put up with BT orgasmically saying "Narkle" on Friday. -
Can only agree with what everyone has said. Thanks BV.

Gill wields his power (visas for au pairs & polo players)

Sorry, I'd like to believe that but Moonie just stated the reported facts. While he may or may not be an opponent of the LNP or just an independent observer, it was you who made it a partisan issue. -

umm, I think the issue is possible corrupt behaviour, not on whose 'side' the money originates. It doesn't excuse anyone to say 'but the other guy does it too'. -
Were the 'issues' with the coaches or the players in your view? Coaches unapproachable or players very naughty boys? Whatever, the proof is in the pudding and the pudding at the moment looks very tasty. So even if it was an issue, it is a non-issue now as DA stated.

you forgot points for being blonde, but I suspect the big end of town is the trump card with 'upright' politicians. -
The perk of being related to the AFL boss. What an oh-pair: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-08-28/dutton-released-au-pair-after-lobbying-from-afl-boss-mclachlan/10172788

Sounds like a good idea.

Thank god I left.

I was thinking only doing it for set shots. Agree it would be silly all over the ground - the ump would be in the way.
-
I'm not sure if I'm in favour of marking the spot or not, but it would take no time for the ump when indicating the spot to also spray a dot. No need for a line.

Populated by bots created somewhere in Moscow.

The AFL stuffed up the opportunity in Canberra. Most of the city was originally from Melbourne and therefore footy-mad. But they let the Raiders capture the market and by the time they got around to creating GWS, AFL was a minority interest in the ACT. I think it may be too late to relocate GWS to Canberra even though they have more enthusiastic supporters there. The population is too small. Edit to add: ACT population is ~400,00. Although Melbourne with a 4M population and 10 teams has a similar number of potential supporters per club, almost everyone in Melb has to at least pretend to have an interest in AFL. Whereas in Canberra most will 'support' the Raiders or Brumbies, so the effective AFL population is more like 100,000.

If you watched on TV you would have heard a loud roar whenever they kicked a goal. Directional mike pointed at their 15 person cheer squad works wonders.
-
Damn we would have had a better percentage than Geelong if only we had not squibbed that pre-season camp. I blame the players.?
-
I doubt we'll hear much about that in the media. Just the sound of air being pumped into C'wood tyres,
-
Seems to me his action accelerates at the last moment before striking the ball. Whether that is good for penetration and bad for accuracy, I have no idea.
-
We would have won that game and now be in the finals if the players hadn't wimped out on that pre-season camp.
