  1. Not to mention there is bugger all we can do about it anyway.
  2. I'm surprised we ranked so high (though to be fair I don't follow other teams closely).
  3. I was about to ask if all that data that Grapeviney mentioned being sent to the coaches during a game was encrypted. Can the opponent coaches pickup the data of the other team without hacking? I'd guess Catapult has that covered. Grapeviney?
  4. Well, ignorance of the law is no excuse, but ignorance of others committing crimes is not. However I agree with you about the doc becuse I cannot believe he had the wool pulled over his eyes by the druggies. And if he did, he is incompetent and so should have been sacked anyway.
  5. In any case, it always surprised me that the EFC doc survived. I don't recall he was penalised in any way.
  6. Just heard Kevin Sheedy on ABC Radio National talking about how Hird was treated harshly in the drug scandal. He provided the ultimate example of blinkered thinking and self-justification by the EFC. He said (parapharasing because I can't recall the exact words): No one makes a fuss about diabetics injecting themselves into the stomach, but Hird gets villified for just injecting a supplement. At least the interviewer pulled him up by saying diabetics do it for life threatening reasons, not to gain an advantage. Jesus wept - these EFC apologists live in a parallel universe.

Not surprising if he is a martin. I hope our sparrow won't do the same.
  8. I haven't followed this carefully, so I'd be grateful if anyone can tell me what 'evil' the rule is meant to prevent?
  9. "& everything the management does gets greeted with loud applause. " I must be reading a different forum - seems to me it's the other way around. While we are all entitled to speculate and pontificate on this forum, none of us really know the factors that went into this decision. Only time will tell.
  10. No, that's not last year's data analyst. It's just one of our relentlessly negative posters at work.
  11. That makes a lot of sense.
  12. That reporter on the ABC Radio National is at it again trying to excuse Essendon. According to him this morning, the ASADA response to the HS article was just a blanket denial of wrongdoing and did not address the points raised. A blatant lie. Then he adds some irrelevant scuttlebutt to pour scorn on the whole issue. The ABC should sack him.
  13. You'd have to wonder what Essendon was self-reporting for if there was no problem with the drug.
  14. I am enjoying your selective definition of the word milestone to suit your position. But this dictionary seems to say otherwise: a stone set up beside a road to mark the distance in miles to a particular place. a significant stage or event in the development of something. "the speech is being hailed as a milestone in race relations"
  15. I'd say a first finals appearance in a long time is a milestone match. Milestones (as a metaphor) don't have to be even numbers or associated with a special year. They mark significant events.
  16. It is extremely rare that I agree with SK who is clearly in a competition to see who can be the most negative poster here, but he is pretty much right on this (except for his rude way of saying it). What is posted here has very little effect on how the club performs, especially if the Club wisely tells players to avoid us. But enthusiasm or its lack at actual matches does have an effect. However generating enthusiasm at a match is rather tied up with how the club is playing in that match, so on balance fans have little effect. And SK, I'm afraid you can't expect people to start reading a thread at the point where you apologised for getting your facts wrong earlier. You'll just have to keep pointing to your apology, or better, assume that posters will probably read that soon enough. Or put your apology in as an edit to your original post.
  17. Surely the only issue here is the conclusion that all is sweet in the AFL free agency because a couple of the poorer players from GF clubs transferred to badly performing clubs. When Lynch transfers to the Suns, I'll believe it. Oh wait...
  18. Don't worry, barracking for another team will make no difference. You will find the same sowers of depression on the forums of any club doing worse than its supporters hope. Only the club which happens to be the current premiers seem to be insulated from posters who see the worst in every action/non-action of their club. We have a few here who don't need naming. I guess they think being so relentlessly negative will magically improve the club somehow. Sadly it will have no effect, but hopefully makes them feel better. Fortunately most posters seem to have a more balanced view of our strengths and failings. But if you just count the number of posts, it doesn't look that way.
  19. Now that would have me heading to the microwave.
  20. Yeah. About bloody time we started kicking some goals during these interviews.
  21. Strange that you say that in response to my saying that there is no point in analysing. Or maybe were you agreeing with me?
  22. Just as there is no more fervent person than the newly converted, there is no more fervent hater than those who leave a religion or whatever. So I wouldn't rush to say that because he was a Demons supporter in the past that he can't he a hater now. Not saying he is or is not, just that history may mean little.
  23. Takes one to know one.
  24. Anyone know what the salary cap caps if clubs can do this? https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-2019-richmond-dustin-martin-net-worth-norm-smith-medallist-set-for-sixfigure-bonus/news-story/33a5774f2c9581600454856f281e0d29
  25. I think you are right. But I doubt if the Giants had enough shots on goal to draw any conclusions abut their confidence. Still the more specialist coaches the better I think - even if one of them addresses the mental issues.
