I watched both games, Jordie had more impact, simple as that. I agree the stats can be misleading, but in this case jordie got more hard balls and more of the ball. He also had more tackles. He is 11th in the league for average tackles per game (6.1). The fact is that a lot of his touches go un-noticed because they are quick gives (and very clean ones) out of a pack. Add to this the shut-down job he did on Mundy in the second half (mundy 4 disposals in the second half), and you can see where I am coming from. Next week Jordie.

I think Goodes should get the job on McKenzie.

Very rarely do I actually blame the umpires for much, for the most part I think they do a good job given the vagaries and complexity of our game. And even when it is bad it is generally bad for both teams and the result is the same. But yesterday they let the crowd dictate their decisions too much. Very poor and one sided, who knows what the result had been if a few of these decisions were called as they should have been.

Still playing basketball out there. Some pretty amazing moments of it too. But then makes too many errors when it comes to the football part. Just about everything you would expect from a young tall with supreme talent.

Footy classified talked him up as All Australian at this point.

He is a player that has just about every attribute you would want in a footballer. Just needs to stay on the park and be more regular with it.

The lonergan one was the worst one. Not because it resulted in a score (not sure what happened after it) or because it was inconsistent, but because it was a great bit of work to break tackles then get the hands clear in the last one. And a good bit of hard tackle breaking, dodging and taking the game on should be rewarded. The Watts one was just plain wrong.

If Jimmy on the footy show doesn't inspire you to whip out the credit card then nothing will.

Of all the games I want to win this year, this is the one. We're going to need a big lift in intensity to match the bombres.

Not bizarre at all. I would play Jordie ahead of the ones I mentioned because I believe the team is better off with him in it, in the short and long term. Yes someone like Dunn plays in a different role and it is a role we depserately need which scores him some points, but Jordie is a better player and better by enough to cover for that. Going the other way you might say that Garland and Rivers are better players, but are in my opinion one of them is surplus to requirements playing tall in the backline. With the exception of the North game where we were out-talled we have always looked better when we have opted for running midfielders where we were able to pressure the opposition mids, early on with Bail, McKenzie, Scully and Trengove all making good with their speed fitness and intensity. We have the backline settled, now let's settle the midfield, leave the forward line for our premiership year.

Fair enough I would have him in the team before: Bartram, Bruce, Garland, Watts, Rivers, Gysberts, Dunn, Jetta, Miller. Which is not to say I advocate dropping these players I would just have Jordie ahead of them. Such is my opinion of him.

Shouldn't be dropped again, I don't care who comes in, there are several players that should be dropped ahead of Jordie, even those who play in different roles. We're a better team with him out there.

Mostly agree but I thought in terms of a spectacle you can't go past the Hawks/Dons game last week. That had everything but the close finish. High marks, Unbelievable goals. It certainly took an adjustment from watching that to watching the World cup.

Avergae of 56 points loss over 13 games there. That is a disgrace.
