    Would also like to know how Trent Rivers ended up with 0 votes. Particularly when the likes of Chandler, Pickett, JVR, Salem and BBB got votes 🤔

    Have said it for some time, the Brownlow is increasingly becoming a mediocre award to win. It no longer goes to the ‘best’ player in the league anymore. Melbourne players aside, the Bont had a much better year than Neale, as did Butters, Gulden and even Daicos. May as well call it the best midfielders award too btw.

    Yes, several retirements in there. Doesn’t matter how the players’ leave, trade/delist/retire, they’ll all need to be replaced and that’s how the list gets refreshed. That’s where my 8 come from. I could’ve easily gone 10-12, but that would destroy the stability.

    I’d rather we try and change the list when it’s not up to scratch than just sticking our heads in the sand. Besides which one of Harmes, Grundy, Hibberd, Laurie, Jordon, Dunstan, D Smith and Brown would you consider as indispensable?

    He definitely did his draft chances no harm yesterday. Might even be a 3rd rounder after that.

    Nothing less than GC first pick will suffice. Now that I’ve had my Dodoro moment, I’d say end of 2nd/early 3rd rounder would do. Unfortunately for Nut, he doesn’t bring any skill set to the team that isn’t provided by others that should be named in the team before him (much the same as JJ). We need to turn the list over if we seriously want to contend again, known quantities that haven’t got us there need to be cut adrift to allow for new/unknown talent to come through. I reckon up to 8 changes could/need to be made to refresh the list.

    Some say that there is no game without umpires………….I say it wouldn’t be worse off without them. They are there to adjudicate, not influence the games. They fail dismally on both counts.

    Yep, we go via the flanks and pockets because it’s easier to defend. Kicking for goal at those angles and what do we expect?
