Don’t expect any money coming from the State Government. Victoria is so far in debt that it will take generations to recover from. Maybe federal funding, but most of the money will need to come from private donations, MCC and naming rights.

I honestly don’t understand why these clubs get a leg up with their academies. Much like the NGA’s, if a kid is selected under pick 40 (or whatever it is), clubs shouldn’t be able to match bids for them. I’m happy for the F/S rule to change to this too, in order to establish a fairer draft system. These clubs opted to establish themselves in these locations, they weren’t told to go there. They should deal with the consequences of their decisions, both good and bad.

I’ve been in to the middle of the racecourse numerous times and it ain’t exactly teeming with local residents. Funnily enough, neither is Caulfield Park most days. This is just locals complaining for the sake of it, and I doubt they’ll be complaining when there are 2 lovely footy ovals for them to play on (as well as soccer pitches), if/when this gets built. As a local resident, I cannot see any downside for the MFC to build here (and I’d be saying exactly the same thing if another footy club were to be attempting to build there too).

5th flag in 17 years………….pathetic. It only took Fish Creek 9 years to accomplish the same feat (well actually only 7, given 2020 & 2021 were wiped out due to Covid). Premiers in 16,17,18,23 & 24. Making for a total of 38 senior premierships 💪💪💪 Throw in hopefully the announcement soon of the MFC training base, and I honestly could not give a brass razoo on who wins this years AFL GF (but agree, Geelong falling shy would be the outcome everyone hopes for)
