I think we need to be putting more score on the board for us to be a genuine contender. It is simply not sustainable for our defence having to continually keep the opposition scores less than our own when we aren’t scoring heavily ourselves.

Our defence is a strong as ever. Our midfield is not as powerful as it was in 2021, nor our attack anywhere near as potent. Weve been found wanting in our forward line the past 2 finals campaigns. If that starts to click and our midfield stays fresh, we’re as good a shot as any. But it’s a long season, with many twists and turns to come. There is also luck which cannot be controlled.

Scott is certainly more proactive. Goody seems to back in ‘the system’ time and again. I wouldn’t describe our forward line or even attacking game as explosive. Need to get more of it in to our game.

Powers mids of Rozee, Butters and JHF all need to play well to give them a good shot of winning. It falls away very quickly after that. Much like our own problems with the midfield. We need all of Trac, Viney & Clarry to be playing well, as our depth ain’t that flash either.
