  1. Happy to say it was a pleasingly unremarkable 8 kick, 8 handball, 2 tackle-game from ANB - probably our 15th best on the day
  2. 6. Clayton Oliver 5. Bayley Fritsch 4. James Harmes 3. Angus Brayshaw 2. Christian Salem 1. Jordan Lewis
  3. One of the two free kicks for this was. Jeff Dalgliesh was the umpire on both occasions.
  4. 6. Jack Viney 5. Max Gawn 4. Steven May 3. Christian Salem 2. Christian Petracca 1. Harry Petty
  5. You are referring to Sam Stynes. He was a top ager last year so overlooked by clubs. Played for Xavier College with the odd game for the Sandringham Dragons.
  6. 6. Tom McDonald 5. Clayton Oliver 4. Christian Petracca 3. Nathan Jones 2. James Harmes 1. Sam Frost
  7. Yeah hes a quality VFL player but has been overlooked repeatedly since his under 18 year when he was in the draft mix. Probably a case of him not being athletic quick enough to play as a running/outside player at AFL level and not big enough to play other spots. I really thought Hawthorn would take him in mid-season draft, may have been his last chance
  8. Hes a good VFL player but he plays nothing like VandenBerg. Much more of outside player with a nice kick on him and has been playing a lot of half back for the Hawks in a Birchall-like role. Cant see us having any interest. He's 27, been in about 9 drafts and Hawthorn could have taken him in the midseason draft and passed.
  9. Not a criticism but today is probably an example where maybe the voting system should be reconsidered. Nearly a dozen players deserving votes today, whereas in a couple of matches there have been one or two worthy. In any case: 6. Jack Viney 5. Clayton Oliver 4. Tom McDonald 3. Max Gawn 2. Jay Lockhart 1. Sam Frost Petracca, Salem, Brayshaw and May were all good contributors.
  10. Him at Sam Frost attended a coterie function today, so he is still around the club.
  11. I was not around for this part of our history but my father who has watched the dees every week since the 60s has always said he was our worst coach ever and used to play teams with far too many talls (top heavy)
  12. 6. Max Gawn 5. Clayton Oliver 4. James Harmes 3. Angus Brayshaw 2. Christian Petracca 1. Steven May
  13. To my eye every week we are about minus 6 in correct holding the ball decisons. We dont get three we deserve and we concede three we dont each week. As a close in contested side as a rule, this is killing us.
  14. Only from one source but Brendan Rhodes suggesting its an ankle injury for Lever. Maynard concussion.
  15. 6. Max Gawn 5. Jack Viney 4. Marty Hore 3. James Harmes 2. Sam Frost 1. Josh Wagner
  16. Jack viney played finals series last year at 65% fwiw
  17. Agree biggest time waster on Demonland. Does not have a clue!
  18. As one of Alex Neal-Bullen's major detractors, it seems unfair not to acknowlege that he played a good, pretty much error-free game and was a valuable contributer. Not in the best half dozen players but not far away.
  19. Last year Gawn's hit out to advantage rate was 35-36%, this year it is currently at 32.5%. He is winning only 50% of ruck contests though this year which I'm certain is well down on last year, so he is slightly less effective at winning hit outs this year and doing slightly less with them.
  20. It doesn't automatically follow that points from stoppages is indicative of laziness on behalf of our midfield core. We are still the number one clearance team in the competition but have dropped from 2nd to 17th in contested marking and from 1st to 11th in inside 50 marks. Scores from stoppages against could just as much an indicator of opposition efficient ball use as it is a black mark against the work ethic of the midfielders. Of course that could be an ingredient.
  21. Ben Ainsworth or Tom Papley would be decent targets to trade for.
  22. Wouldn't count out him playing down back as well. Cats have Dahlhaus, Myers, Ablett, Atkins and Parfitt all rolling through their forward fifty and they were playing a lot of 2 tall four small last week with Gary Rohan and Danger mixed in. Lockhart may come in to do a job down back, maybe try and go with Atkins, Myers and Dahlhaus if Jetta and Hibberd are occupied with Ablett and Danger. Could be In: May, Lockhart Out: Frost Hore if they decide KK needs another week. Could also play as forward to of course.
  23. I thought Keilty showed enough to be an ok emergency third ruckman if it got to that point - The question is would any of the state league ruckman make any sort of difference if we had a ruck injury crisis. The player most thought was the best mature age ruckman in the draft Darcy Fort has looked horrible for Geelong.
  24. Not sure if been mentioned but he has a BOG Three Brownlow vote game on Kennedy.
  25. Does that mean all the posters on Demonland should never appraise player or coach performances?
