AFLW Off Season News / 2021 Preseason
IvanBartul13 replied to Dees_In_October's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
O'Dea will be a loss. She didn't have a great year but I think in terms of actual football technique she is one of the best players in the league. Just moves and uses the ball like a genuine footballer. Running capacity is probably her problem but you would want to get a very good trade haul for her. Jakobsson's girfriend plays for St Kilda so that is probably why she is moving. Decent player but surely market value is shot. Kath Smith seemed destined to be one of our best young players before doing ACL, you wouldn't lose her without getting quality in return. Thought Cordner had played some good games filling in in the ruck, maybe they dont see role for her with the big Pearce on the list. Should get something for Newman with her speed. -
Why are you basing a stupid and under-researched post on a game off a four-day break against the top side after a 2pt loss against the second top side. Its nonsense.

Melbourne vs Essendon Postponed

Well he did the mandatory 14-day quarantine, so they are either wrong about how long it can become detectible or he has contracted it in Australia. Not ideal either way. -

We prob on same flight SWYL -
Its makes the grass slick and makes for more fluent passing, with the ball pinging along the ground with less friction. Usually teams with a mentality to play passing soccer along the ground and not long balls to a big striker will water the surface a little bit leading up to a game or training.

TRAINING: Wednesday 18th December 2019
IvanBartul13 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure why you continue to peddle misinformation. Ollie Lord, notwithstanding he spends most of his time playing in the attacking half of the ground and is a similar height, plays and physically looks nothing like Tom Hawkins, he is a tall, rangy, running key forward/second ruck in the mould of Eric Hipwood and not the predominantly one on one player Hawkins is and was at junior level -

2020 Draft Prospects Training with the Dees

Yeah, Ollie Lord is a developing key forward. Tremendous, prototypical key forward size and mobility but very raw. Will Phillips is one of the more decorated under age mids in next years draft. -
Any chance you could post your earlier quotes re O’Neill.

KK was definitely there. -
Nietschke was very exposed in the SA system.

I wouldnt bet my art deco flat on it happening but Jordon has a chance to be a star. He has two very rate attributes that appeared, albeit fleetingly this season that very few players have. The spearing 45m kick and the ability to make the game stand still in traffic. I have question marks on his pace and question marks on his aerial competitiveness, but theres a chance this guy could become a very very good inside mid. Sparrow stylistically reminds me of a young Todd Viney - He moves the same, has a similar build and the kicking biomechanics are eerily similar. Hopefully next season we get more of a chance to see if he can be anywhere near as good a player.
-
Agree with that pretty much. He looked excellent game one. He was a very good forward in juniors so thats where that came from but didnt translate to AFL. Fantastic exponent of the hip and shoulder though!
-
What was undisciplined about it, he spoiled the ball cleanly and was not even necessarily a mark let alone a 50. Horrible decision to give 50.
-
I am one of ANB harshest critics but the kick was from 50 and was a reasonable effort which just missed. Melksham puts his hands up saying he should have passed to him but he wasn't free enough for that option.

How dare you DazzleDavey - ANB leads the league in irrelevant tackles and forlorn chases and is doing a nice job shutting down Ryan Clarke.

I would be absolutely amazed if Preuss isnt a late in and plays as the fulcrum of a one tall - five small forward swapping with Maxy.and that one of mid forwards is a late out
-
It was very easy. But i stand by my view that notwithstanding the fact he loves the jumper and runs his [censored] off, he is not a good footballer
