  1. Let's not forget that "season" at this stage means "two weeks".
  2. Actually stats mean everything to the Herald Sun rankings.
  3. Not a hanging offence like some here are making out, but at the same time I wouldn't dismiss this either. I'm just "disappointed".
  4. I was in M13, near the front. I shouted myself hoarse, and my throat is still scratchy three days later.
  5. Thanks for your service Chris and farewell. I'm a bit sad personally as Chris was heavily involved in the club I grew up around (premiership assistant coach), so even though I've never met the bloke I've been around the same footy clubs as him since I was very little. The timing is okay though, as his strongest ally at the club is gone, and it gives us the opportunity for a completely fresh start.
  6. Can't see it being anyone other than Green at this point in time, if it isn't Neitz.
  7. Spot on, that was exactly what I thought when I first read this idea. This is just one more thing an umpire can bugger up in the heat of the moment IMO.
  8. Incorrect. Collingwood's "inexperience" has just received more hype. That's all.
  9. For the billionth time, the place to discuss moderator behavior is not in the middle of a thread. Thread cleaned.
  10. Kangas, Hawthorn, Geelong, Sydney, Brisbane in that order. Will spew if it's anyone else.
  11. (closed as per Jaded's message above)
  12. Thanks Freddy. I was getting all ready to work out the differences between last time and this time only to remember today's Thursday and the teams aren't out yet. D'oh.
  13. Heh! As an (field) umpire it's more important to be fit than quick. Problem is I'm not fit either. I could always be a goal umpire!
  14. Some, like me, love the game but have no other way of getting involved. I don't want to/can't play, my body is not up to the wear and tear of regular hard contact, not to mention I'm small, slow and uncoordinated. Umpiring would be the perfect way to get involved. That's just one example. There's plenty of other reasons why people would want to umpire.
  15. I don't know for certain, but I'm pretty sure he was under the age of 5. Ricky Petterd was also born in Tasmania.
  16. Hards, I'd agree with everything you said if Neale was addressing them before the game, but he's not. In all honesty I think by the time Friday comes around the boys are going to be completely focused on the upcoming match and nothing else. I doubt they'll even remember anything Neale said. A Thursday afternoon address is not going to interrupt their focus on the upcoming match, which is why I have no problem with it.
  17. Thanks for that. That was a cheap shot by that bloke who hit him!
  18. Did you know that 42% of statistics are made up on the spot?
  19. I'm 99% confident they're not the same person (checked all the usual signs and came up with no evidence that they are), so Demons 32 stays put as he has not done anything to violate the code of conduct.
  20. I thought I read somewhere that McLean and Bruce are still several weeks away. Not sure of that though.
  21. By the time you're down to your 7th or 8th pick it all amounts to the same thing IMO.
  22. I actually forgot about Garland. That said I don't think there's much to be gained by playing him again at this point. Let him slowly build his confidence and skill set at Sandringham, that's why we have the alignment. Playing kids who aren't ready yet is like trying to start a car in 4th gear. Sure, you eventually reach top speed, but it takes a lot longer and it's a pretty bumpy ride along the way.
