Next you'll be suggesting there are posts critiquing the players in the MFC side that are not entirely without prejudice.
-
I reckon you're suffering from Footy Fan Short Memory Syndrome, WJ. It was only last week that they were staring down the barrel of a 100 point loss until Freo went home at 3/4 time. None of the Bummers fans I know agree that they put in their best effort that week. I also thought North were vastly superior but failed to punish them on the scoreboard.
-
That news makes me want to pledge twice. Once for the disease, and once to contribute to getting Tm Watson dunked in ice.
-
Scoreboard flattering the Bummers IMO.
-
I'm barracking for North by process of elimination.
-
Funny, I saw some footage of his playing days a while ago and felt weird about it. Didn't seem right seeing him in that horrible black and red jumper. He was just finishing up as a player when I took an interest. The Neale I knew wore MFC gear, and coached in finals. I love the man and am truly sad to see that he is struggling so badly, all while so relatively young still.

You're a real Demonland anomaly Curry. I can't think of another poster in my 12+ years on these footy forums who I swing from wild agreement to wild disagreement with on a daily basis. (Current state: wild agreement.)

You're a lot more likely to hit a target when a) you have the ball, and b) you have a viable target to hit. I think that's what these changes are all about as both were problems last week.

Jones and Bail were bound to be called upon eventually. I don't love it but recognise what they bring to the table: run, which was pathetic last week. Watts is the only genuine AFL grade player to make way out of the side anyway. I don't see Grimes, Jones and Bail being that enormous a downgrade on Pedersen, Newton and JKH.

How come they didn't trial the helmet with Bail, then?
-
Hopefully if Nev dons the helmet, it helps a bit. The science says it usually doesn't, but it's got to be better than nothing. You know the "player might go in harder" argument against helmet won't apply to him, he already goes in hard. Not that it's at this point yet, but it would be totally balls if he ends up needing to pull the pin early due to excess concussions after all the work he's done to get up to scratch. Life's just not fair sometimes.

Many reasons? Or just one?

Signed! Christian Petracca extends contract until end of 2018.
Nasher replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
They may well have been. Who knows (or cares now)? I was never worried about him going, but it's the symbolism of these signings that matters to me. Our young players are clearly investing in the club. I love it.- 151 replies

That we expect to be able to beat them, basically. I hardly think it's going to upset Hawthorn all that much though.

I don't believe he actually is, but I do believe it's the lie he told the club to get out of having the injections. I see it as a way of opting out of the programme without having to put his hand up and saying "no, I don't want to be a part of this" and risk ostracism, or appear to not be doing as his told by his bosses.
-
The Lockett and Dunstall comparisons are clearly tongue in cheek. Anyway, each to their own. I don't feel the need to keep a lid on it in this case, the guy has all the attributes to be a genuine star of the comp and I think he will be.
-
I understand the point of having seen promise before, but comparing Hogan to the Gys is beyond ridiculous, ManDee.
-
Setting the bar a bit low, aren't we? Tony Lockett could only wish to be as good as Jesse Hogan.
-
Snort.

?

Bum. Viney is critical, was hoping he'd be ready sooner rather than later.
-
Exactly. The "we didn't see this coming" line is either shamefully poor governance or an outright lie. I reckon we know which.
-
I know that size doesn't necessarily equal strength, though I don't think Jesse's got his weight by moving from his physically active job to a desk job like you have I hope you're right though, and you would think that at his age he wouldn't have finished developing by any stretch. If he continues to get stronger he'll be very difficult to stop, if he's not already.
-
Will he get "a lot" stronger? He's already over 100kg's and in his third season on the list - I would guess that improvement from hereon in would be incremental. He is already stronger than most of his opponents now as it is.
